CHAPTER:13

We arrived home safely after a short drive. Upon reaching my house, I realized that I had left my phone in the car and asked Louis for assistance. He suggested that I head inside and join my parents for dinner, and he would retrieve my phone shortly after parking the car in the garage. The night felt eerily quiet and unsettling, making me uncomfortable even standing alone for a moment longer, so I entered the house. To my surprise, both sets of parents were there, creating an unexpected evening gathering. I was taken aback by the unexpectedness of it all. The strong bond between our parents was evident, having known each other for over three decades. Their close friendship was truly remarkable.

Eventually, Louis also joined us, equally surprised by the unexpected gathering. We all sat down to share dinner together. As we engaged in our usual day-to-day conversations, Louis took a deep breath and indicated that he had something to say. Although I hadn't planned to reveal the news just yet, I knew the time had come. Summoning my courage, I shared everything. There was a moment of silence, and then the parents responded, expressing their support under the condition that I would prioritize taking care of myself and allow Louis to be my guardian.

Overwhelmed with joy and excitement, I jumped up for a hug and eagerly said yes. I even apologized for my earlier behavior that morning. They assured me that they weren't angry, as I was their "little sweetheart." Louis's parents also chimed in with their agreement. It seemed that everything had taken a positive turn in my favor. They urged me to finish my dinner quickly and pack my belongings, as we were leaving early the next morning.
