"Do you have to beat me so hard? It hurt like hell," Noah whined. He painstakingly stood up while holding his chest with a painful expression.
I couldn't describe what I felt right now. Shock, anger, shame, and other feelings emerged and mixed into one.
Was it Noah all along? Even when I was scared out of my wits and asked him not to come closer, he was pretending not to know me and secretly laughed at me for stupidly deceived by him? Was it fun to play with me like this?
"What are you doing?" I asked him coldly. I didn't have the energy to pretend to be polite anymore. It was a miracle I hadn't erupted in anger right now.
Noah cleaned himself of the dust covering him. He didn't look perturbed, nor did he look guilty at all. "What else? I saw a suspicious person loitering in the middle of the night, so I planned to confront them. Who could guess it was you?"
Yeah right. I won't be fooled twice. "You know it was me all along."
