After that, Yejun wasn't able to sleep at all that night. When it was about three in the morning, he quickly went to his garage. Only a few people were guarding the perimeter and he was grateful for that.
The guards opened it up for him. He held his hand up, signaling them that he wanted to be alone in the dark. He was completely fine as the moonlight cast through the windows and touched everything in Yejun's sight. He walked up towards the monster truck that he first assembled when he was around Eungoo's age.
He then sat down on the cold hard, his palms resting behind his back, and felt most of the coldness of the tiles. He leaned back and stared at his truck in glory. His eyes trained to the other item that Eungoo managed to steal. It was the cheapest out of all his collections but it had the coolest design.
He then remembered that one line that he heard earlier from Eungoo.
'If he only had the money, he would have studied mechanical engineering, but Seoul University only offered him a scholarship for marketing I think.'
Kwan found it very admirable for the two best friends to be two full scholars and that Min Kwan was registered as Eungoo's guardian. His heart felt funny at the moment. He was lingering for that one thing that they both had… freedom. Although they didn't much have a choice given their economic status, Yejun remembered what it was like to dream to be something other than a mafia boss but then again… you don't get to choose your family.
Yejun never wanted to be a mafia boss. He wasn't supposed to be the heir in the first place. Just like Kwan, he wanted to be a mechanical engineer, and somewhere at the back of his head, he praised the man for never giving up on his dreams… where he turned his back on his.
4:00 AM
The red blazing lights illuminated the wall. It looked like lights from hell reminding him of hell, the life he had right now. He sighed and finally got up. He slowly made his way towards the truck. He nodded to himself and quickly hopped on. He smiled as he found the keys dangling at the mirror. He hummed the car into life and smoothly drove aback. He was doing something kind of reckless.
He exited the garage and drove through the gates, telling them to tell the maids to not prepare him some breakfast for he was going to go back a little late. He drove his way to Wonshik's place knowing that Min Kwan was there.
As soon as he got on Jeon's territory, the amount of security was incredibly ridiculous. Yejun had to slow down so that the people would recognize him. He knew that his dongsaeng had plenty of enemies so that was very reasonable, however, sometimes he couldn't get over the fact that he knew that Jeon Wonshik kept a couple of tanks somewhere in his backyard… crazy.
Yejun stopped the car by the gates and a man pointed a riffle at his head. He narrowed his eyes, greatly insulted by the gesture.
"Get that shit away from my face." He grunted in annoyance.
"Oh! Mr. Park! Sorry I wasn't able to recognize you right away. What brings you at this hour?"
"Some business to attend to with Wonnie-
"I'm afraid we can't, Mr. Park. We were given strict orders to not let anyone in since he's having his… fun time."
Yejun turned away and covered his mouth as he laughed. 'Fun time' he always knew that Wonshik was such a kid but he didn't actually think to say those words to his men.
"Don't worry, Chan. I've texted him already that I would be here at this hour."
"But… he didn't give us any-" The man paused as he heard his phone went off. He picked it up and began frantically talking over the phone.
"I'm so sorry, Mr. Park. You're good to go."
Yejun paid no attention to the man and just drove off. It was too early in the morning to have blood on his hands. He also didn't want to freak out Kwan and let Wonshik have his hand full even much worse. He parked the truck at the curb. He got off and eyed the statue at the fountain. It was a fountain inspired by the Greek art that, he remembered that Wonshik was completely fond of. He crossed his arms over his chest and admired the beautiful carved nude woman pouring water on the rocks.
"You're here early." A raspy voice interrupted. Yejun looked to the side and smiled at what his dongsaeng was wearing.
Wonshik still had his bunt onesie with the hood up. The younger looked like a grey bunny with its long ears reaching to his hip adorably. He was rubbing his eyes with his hands covered with fluffy-looking paw covering.
"Laugh all you want now what are you doing here? Did you bring any food?" His eyes glistened at Yejun. His best friend had to hold back his laughter to maintain his composure but failed. How could he? Wonshik looked like an eager hungry bunny for real.
"No!" He said and cleared his throat. "I'm not staying much for long and I really don't want to see him."
"Then why are you here?!" Wonshik groaned, feeling so annoyed. He gripped his artificial bunny ears and pouted. He still wanted to cuddle the best cuddle buddy ever, also known as Min Kwan.
Yejun chuckled and turned around from his friend's childish behavior. He reached at the farthest back and began unloading his big bike in one go.
"Why do you have this here?" Wonshik paused and eyes the vehicle cautiously before looking at his hyung like he was practically growing another head; he was utterly confused.
Yejun patted the vehicle and smiled. "For him". He didn't even let the other respond as he got up on the driver's seat and buckled up. He pulled himself off the drive curb and looked back one more time at the big bike, saying his final goodbye.
"What am I going to tell him?" Wonshik began to walk towards the truck slowly driving off his curb.
"I don't know. You're his lover, right?"
"He's not my-" even before Wonshik could finish his hyung was long gone. He sighed and looked back at the Ninja Kawasaki Big Bike. "You're still a good person, hyung… as always."
He knew why Park Yejun left that for Min Kwan.
Later that day, Yejun went home and went straight up to the guest room. He smiled at the guards that were guarding the door.
"Why are you both here?" Yejun softly spoke.
"Ms. Irene asked us to make sure that he wouldn't tempt another escape."
Yejun nodded and dismissed them, motioning to the guards to leave as he slowly opened the door revealing Kim Eungoo all wrapped up in the duvet and watching re-run episodes of Friends.
His pet wasn't expecting to see him as he widened his eyes when he saw his master coming in before giving all his attention back to the screen. Yejun sighed mentally and went his way towards the bed, climbing slowly on the edge, and sat beside him wrapping his arms around the other before he could ever manage to escape.
Eungoo froze in his seat, not knowing what to do. His eyes knitted together as he was now very confused at the sudden change of personality of his master. He inwardly bit his cheek as he felt slightly relieved to feel the warmth from another person. He felt like he's going to go insane without being embraced like this.
Yejun nuzzled his face on Eungoo's shoulder and cuddled him in what seemed like hours. He joined in on watching a few episodes with him and none of them uttered a single word. It was a comforting silence between the two of them and none had complained.
"Have you eaten already?" Yejun's voice rasped out as his eyes were glued to the screen. He wouldn't usually take a day off but the following events and the upcoming event that he was supposed to host the launching of that new tech.
"W-what are you doing?" Eungoo stuttered. Yejun closed his eyes and smiled. He shrugged and let his eyes focus on the collar that he gave him with his name carved on it, another art form from Wonshik.
"Do you hate it?" Yejun suddenly asked. "Do you hate me now?"
"N-no… It's just…" Eungoo bit his lips as he didn't want him to say the word jealousy… again due to his pride. He thought that he was still a man and needed his pride but look at what happened to him, he could barely feel his legs.
"I have a proposition for you…" Yejun began
Eungoo looked at him quizzically and pushed him a little, getting all serious now. He waited for the other's response, patiently; he was curious as to what Park Yejun meant.
"You get to go back to school, however!" Yejun paused and looked at him straight in the eye, "You will never see Min Kwan ever again."
And it was at that moment that Yejun was making him make an impossible choice, one that would be a test to his friendship and his determination to get out of the economic status that life had thrown at him.
