Chapter Seven

" so..... you like him" Nancy ask giving me a knowing look, " Don't know" I reply still bending on my notebook, she snatches the book away from me,"Answer me or else.....am seizing it" how can I even start explaining to her about the strange feeling I have when am with him, " Am serious, I don't even know, it still strange to me"   "meaning your falling for him" she grin, " whatever"  " you know what, your joyless" she said dropping my book on my desk before leaving for lunch, " I don't even know what this whole feeling was all about, was it love, it can't be, I can't just fall in love with him like that, I stood up I really need to clear my head, it was free period so I don't have to bother about class now.

"Are you going to meet up with him today" Emily ask giggling beside me at the kitchen, "No"   "why, it not fair", " what is not fair"mum ask coming to stand at the front of the kitchen, " nothing Mum" we both chorus, she raised her eyebrows at us, "it nothing mum"I lied, when she left I almost squeezed Emily's mouth, " if you don't keep quiet, you going to land me into serious trouble" I caution, "but you know you're still going to tell Aunt right". " Emily for goodness sake, we are not dating just friends" I reply trying to act calm, "but you have feelings for him right" she winked at me, "I don't know" I respond, " really, she asked raising her eyebrows at me, " how can you don't know if you're having feelings for him or not" I turned to look at her, if I ever told her who he is am sure she won't allow me to rest again, I cleaned my watery hand, "I need to take a break from all your question, you're pestering me, "really I am...., immediately their was  noise from the sitting room, we both rush outside to know what it was all about, we saw Dad on the floor, I rush near him, he was having a heart attack again, we helped him to sit up, " Dad are you OK, i asked, let me call the clinic" " no don't", he held me, "don't, I will be OK" he said in a very weak voice, "why don't you want me to call them, you're situation Is critical" I tried removing his hand, "try to understand" why was he holding me back, he need to go to hospital, I turned to mum, she held both palm on her face, " mum!! I called she didn't look up, " why are all of you behaving this way, we need to take dad to the hospital, " we can't Rebecca, the hospital would charge a lot of money and you know we can't afford to pay, theirs no money now at home only your school fees, I was down how can it be possible, dad need to go to the hospital, " use my school fees"  "Enough Rebecca, I would be fine"he put his hand in his pocket, and brought out painkillers, was he taken that often, he was  in pain all these while but he choose to think of me, I came close to where he sat hugging him tightly and watch mum burst out  in tears, " it OK I assured, I rushed upstairs, I need to find solution for all these, I can't stand watching my family in pain, Emily came to stand beside me, " are you OK" I wasn't OK, my emotion and conscience scream loud at me " I don't know " tears rolled down my eyes, " come here, she opened her arm for me to embrace her, moving into her arms, I felt the love of a sister.
