We left in the ship, picked up Daniel and got to the beta site only to be sent to the Tok'ra off world base to move them and the stargate. The fake Tok'ra Tanith was arrested when we got there so when things were going down I was glad Robo-Sam had agreed to go to earth and babysit Jacob once she was repaired on Harlan's world. Harlan wanted to stay on earth as well since everyone was gone and Robo-Sam refused to go back there alone with him forever.
Anyways, Tanith escaped, we planned to blow up a star with a stargate to blow up Apophis's fleet and a Alkesh bomber attacked the hatak ship we had. I repaired and upgraded the shields, hyper drives and weapons crystals while Teal'c and Jack went after the Alkesh bomber. We managed to ring up Jack, but they'd captured Teal'c. In the meantime the star blew in a supernova while we escaped and Apophis's mothership followed.
We were flung so far off course it wasn't funny. In the end our shields and hyper drive was down and for good on the hyper drive's part. We were out of backup crystals for it so when another ship showed up attacking Anubis's ship, we used the sublight engines to get near the closest star and hide while I repaired the shields and weapons again.
When we came out the second ship was gone and Apophis's ship showed no life signs. Jacob who'd been leading us on this roller coaster of a ride, suggested we ring over and take their hyper drive control crystals or the ship if we can. Seeing the self destruct was active with no life signs I shook my head. "That other ship had to be a replicator ship. The reason it's gone is because they're on Apophis's ship and that's also why the sensors aren't picking up life signs, everyone's dead or it's shielded beyond the goa'uld tech of this ship now. Either way our best bet is to grab the crystals and return here to leave before it tries to follow."
I put away my suit and took off my neural transmitter, telling Sam to do the same because they were made of materials the replicators would kill for. Our rings held them and Jacob followed our example before we ringed over armed to the teeth. We found replicators alright and tons of them. Still, they didn't try to stop us and didn't care to while we took the hyper drive control crystals and left before the self destruct went off.
We got pretty far before stopping to use the boosted shields to protect us from the explosion. When it was over, Jacob and Jack had words while a ship showed up on the sensors, a cargo ship at that. Teal'c came on the screen while I went to see what I could do about boosting the efficiency of the hyper drive. I was still working when I was surrounded by Jaffa and Teal'c who told me I'd obey or Sam would die.
Apophis told me I would make an excellent new host as an ancient and an immortal already. He said Teal'c told him what rumors hadn't. I was tempted but Teal'c shot Sam once with a zat gun and told me that even if I killed them one of the Jaffa here would shoot her a second and third time so I'd best obey. Seeing Sam already on the ground having been knocked out by a blow to the head and now a zat I turned to Apophis and growled. "Just do it."
His men grabbed me and Teal'c put his staff weapon to Sam's temple saying if I moved he'd fire. A Jaffa grabbed my had and forced me to my knees while revealing my neck to Apophis. I felt the pain and pressure as well as the movement of the symbiote before Apophis and I began a mental battle of wills. When I eventually won, I forced his mind into submission and stood, making my eyes glow before speaking like Apophis by moving his snake body to affect mine.
I told them. "Jaffa Kree. Put her with the others and meet us on the Peltak. Teal'c, you will be greatly rewarded for your services to your god."
Teal'c bowed. "I live only to serve my lord."
I nodded and we left, going to the bridge and separating from the rest of the Jaffa. I knocked out Teal'c and killed Apophis in my own body. He released a powerful poison that weakened me for a while, but it didn't matter because I'd heal in time. I hid Teal'c near the cargo bay they'd emptied the ship's supplies for so while Apophis was being absorbed by my body, I was locking the Jaffa in the Peltak and sealing the bridge off.
I met up with the others and told them immediately what happened. Jacob asked how and I grunted. "Even if I don't remember my life, I'm still four billion years old. You can't comprehend the kind of will that comes with that kind of age kid. When a young snake steps up to pit their will against mine, even with a thousand Hitler's screaming at me they're merely a fly."
Sam snorted. "He means he used telekinesis to crush Apophis's brain and kill it before it could take over."
I shrugged. "Tomato to-ma-to."
Jack sighed. "So old snake head's dead after all then?"
I grimaced. "Yeah and I'm currently fighting off a strong poison so don't expect anymore miracles from me today. I barely managed to knock out and drag Teal'c to the loading bay. I figured we could escape before the Jaffa get out of the Peltak."
Jack shook his head and Daniel said. "We've got bigger problems. The replicators are aboard the ship."
I slammed a hand against the doorway. "Damn! Can't we catch a damned break just once?"
Jacob said the cargo ship was the right thinking and Sam suggested we do like we did with Thor's ship only with the sublight thruster crystals that slow the ship down when it exist's hyper space. I leaned against the wall as sweat poured from me while the poison did it's problem. "Bit of a problem there love. I can't walk five feet on my own right now."
Jack sighed. "I'll do it."
He told Jacob to get me to the cargo ship and take Daniel in case Teal'c wakes up or the Jaffa get out. Jacob helped me because I worried the poison my eyes infectious through sweat. I was left in the cargo hold of the cargo ship with Teal'c while they prepared to flee. I died for a bit but woke up again by the time we were escaping the ship while the sublight thruster were blown.
The hatak crashed into Sokar's old planet ending that chapter while we headed to earth to get Teal'c's mind back. I'd held back the circumstances of which I'd become Apophis's host temporarily and didn't say until after the exam I got that proved Apophis was gone, no more than traces of naquadah in my bloodstream and a protein in my blood symbolizing I'd been a host once until the symbiote died.
I made sure the protein was analyzed and the poison as well as the antibodies my body had developed for it. I spoke with Teal'c when Bra'tac started the last rite, told him what he did, showed him what he'd nearly cost me and told him that if he does not renounce Apophis then I will not have the strength to forgive him because I certainly couldn't forgive the fool before me now. I stood and told Sam that I was heading home to see our son because I didn't have it in me to sit with a coward who hides behind his beliefs of false gods as justifications for his actions.
I left the base after giving Hammond my report and spent my night beside my son's bed. His short sandy blonde hair ruffled with the breeze and the lack of worry that came with being a carefree child of two years old. In the morning I took Jacob to the base with Robo-Sam and let her teach him basic third grade school curriculum stuff while I went to see how Teal'c was doing. Teal'c had recovered his mind and was ashamed to look at Sam and I.
I told him after I slugged him that we were even and the punch was for thinking I could blame him for something he had no control over. I clasped his arm and helped him up with a smile before telling him Apophis was dead the moment I stood up and used his tricks to fool the Jaffa and him to separate them and get Sam back to the others. I told him no sarcophagus could bring him back now because there's nothing left of him after his body dissolved.
Sam smiled telling him she told him I wouldn't hold it against him. She then told him if he puts me in that kind of danger again using her to do so she'd shoot him herself, drugs or not. She'd lost her smile when she told him that and he bowed politely to her, agreeing. I scratched my head before telling him. "Drey'auc and Ry'ac are with Robo-Sam and baby Jacob in Sam's lab. They're no doubt expecting you."
He thanked me and I patted his shoulder. "Don't thank me, dear her. I didn't know I was marrying such a scary woman."
Sam snorted and Teal'c smiled a rare smile before leaving with Sam. The only reason I'd kept Robo-Sam around was because she looked like Sam and had most of her memories so Jacob could have a halfway normal life while Sam and I were out saving the world. Otherwise she'd be with Harlan confined to the base, though Harlan is stuck above floor twenty because even Hammond got tired of him so he had Airmen babysitting him while Harlan taught the scientists how to make the tech from his world.
Weeks later the team and I were on a deserted planet in ruins where the only structure looked familiar. When I went inside, I looked around and told Sam who came with me. "We have to leave, now."
I took out several bricks of c-4 and placed it on the device, activating the switch and leaving. When we got outside, I told Daniel. "Record the language because in ten minutes it won't be here anymore."
Daniel stopped and asked. "What? Why?"
I grunted. "The weapon is ancient and from the ruins of this place only one thing could've done it. I'll tell you when we're on earth now record and meet us at the gate because you have nine minutes and thirty seven seconds to get clear before ten pounds of plastic explosives level this place."
Jack asked if I was series and I held up the timer before he told Daniel to hurry it up. I saw an ascended floating around and left with Sam and Teal'c. When we got to the gate, Sam asked what happened. I looked up and hummed. "I'll tell you back at the SGC. It's not safe here."
Daniel and Jack came running as a boom in the distance destroyed the ancient weapon far more thoroughly. I dialed earth and sent the code before leaving with the rest as Jack and Daniel caught up. Jack said I'd better have a damned good explanation for it and I told him I did.
