Chapter 49
Adam and Jojo had settled on a rhythm, too. When Adam didn’t work, he stayed over at the apartment, and a pattern of domestic cohabitation evolved. Adam would text his schedule for the next few days, and Jojo would shop for groceries off a shopping list Adam and he created. Sometimes, Jojo would order take-out, and have it delivered.
On some afternoons, when the club opened late, Tiny joined them for late lunches or early dinners. Tiny would catch them up on the club, the patrons, all the crazy things that happened. It was when Adam wasn’t around that Tiny would talk about how much in the red the club was. Jojo promised he would talk to his father again as soon as he could or more specifically, when they actually started talking to each other.
But for the moment, talking to his father directly was out of the question.
