34. Barfi

D woke up due to sunlight falling on her face . She checked Mr.Sen's condition once again , everything was normal .

She searched for certain someone in the room but he was nowhere to be found .

She thought he went for training. Soldiers never skip training and are very punctual . So , she didn't thought much about it .

After a while , he came with something in his hands .

He spoke first ,"How's he ?"

D,"He is fine . He will wake up shortly ."

He nodded ,"That's good . You must be tired . Come eat something and then take some rest . In some time , Ma will be here , she will take care of him . "

D smiled ,"Ohhk , let's eat together then I will go ."

They ate together while chatting about some general things . The atmosphere was blissful and lovely and warm .

After eating ,D took her leave . She told Shounak before leaving," Plz call me if something happens. I won't be sleeping so , you don't have to worry about waking me up ."

He just nodded and she left .

D went to her room to freshen up. She lied down on hard bed in her room thinking about something.

Meanwhile, in Mr.Sen's room , Mrs. Sen arrived and enquired about his condition. She relaxed after knowing he will wake up shortly .

Shounak also left his father's room and went to freshen up .

In the room where Mr. Sen were placed , Mrs. Sen looked at her husband, now looking like someone whose life was sucked out of him . He was pale and was looking quite haggard .

Unknown to her , she was shedding tears , she felt bad for her husband , a man who was always filled with vigor and energy , now looked so weak .

When her tear drop fell on his hand , his hand moved , she was unaware of that .

After some time , when he regained his voice , he called out to her ," Barfi , why are you crying ? I'm perfectly fine ."

His voice was hoarse and groggy as he just woke up .He couldn't talk more as his throat was dry , she quickly gave him glass of water to drink and scolded him lightly ,"How can you say you are fine when you have just undergone such a major surgery ?" .
