Mike Durpin is your average college student. He isn't popular, but is well know by most students. He on both the debate and the rugby team at his school. He isn't the strongest looking person, but is very athletic. He has tan skin and short dark hair and green eyes. He attracts a lot of attention from woman, but focuses himself on his school work and school clubs.
He walked along the city streets as cars passed by. He enjoyed his walk from his apartment to school. The breeze from the skyscrapers cooled him in the hot summer air. Mike was taking his summer classes to finish school two years earlier.
As he was walking down the street he noticed a friend of his on the opposite side of the street. They waved to one another and walked towards each other. As they got closer in the corner of his eye Mike noticed a truck speeding up. His friend was just crossing the street as the truck got increasingly closer.
His body moved on it's own. He dropped his school bag and rushed out to his friend. He pushed him out the way and was struck by the truck!
He was sent flying a couple feet away from the truck. The truck didn't stop moving and drove off. A crowd of people surround Mike as he laid there in pain. His friend rushed over clutching him in his arms thanking Mike. Others in the crowd started to call the police and describing the truck.
As his friend clutched him Mike just smiled and told his friend to win their summer rugby team. He just told his friend to enjoy his life as his was slowly fading. His vision started to get blurry as the light in his eye started to dim. After a few moments he had passed in his friends arms.
Mike started open his eyes again and noticed he was in a black void. He couldn't see anything besides a bright light getting closer and closer. He had to use his arms to cover his eyes as the light got closer.
"Welcome brave one" a powerful woman's voice spoke. His eye's started to adjust to the light and removed his hands. He saw a giant sized woman radiating lighting that hid her beautiful figure. "I have watched your life and witnessed your courage and bravery in life. You gave your life for a friend and wished them a blessed life. You put other's before yourself and show great praise for life. I have a deal to make.'
Mike wasn't sure what was going on. He had just died and is now meeting this being he has no idea what was happening.
"Wait wait wait" Mike said while waving his hands. "Who are you and what is going on?"
The giant woman paused for a moment and apologized. "I am sorry little one. I am the Goddess of Reincarnation. You have proven yourself for possessing great courage. I have a quest for you."
Mike remained silent and nodded for the Goddess to go on.
"I watch over many universes and have one that is being corrupted by the undead. By using magic the people of this universe spread their nations to other planets. A powerful Lich has raised an undead fleet to spread out in the cosmos. I beseech you to enter this universe and save it."
Mike thought for a moment. He was already dead and was given another chance for life. This time he could actually make a difference in life.
"What would you give me after I help you" Mike asked. "And what would you bless me with to defeat this great evil?"
"Great power" she spoke. "I will bless you with the power of the Crusader General. It is a system that will allow you to get stronger and create locations that can keep the undead at bay. Though its strength will reflect on your own strength. I will send you to a planet forgotten by the Lich, but still under his control. You must travel to this planet and save those still surviving and grow stronger. From here you must wage a war against the Lich. Not a war to kill the Lich, but a war to save the living."
Mike thought for a moment. Even with his busy college life he remembered his childhood. Playing fantasy games and loving the feeling of being a champion of light. Fighting evil and protecting the week. His old life was gone. He was sad he would never see his family and friends again, but he felt a calling from deep within him. A calling to do what's right.
"I accept! I will become your General Crusader and save this universe. All I wish for is after this allow me to continue to be your champion of light for other universes.
A smile appeared on the Goddesses face. She made a right decision to offer this to the mortal.
"I will allow that" she waved her hand over Mike as clothes and sword appears on the back of his hip. "I grant you the System power of the General Crusader. You must grow your own power to climb the challenges in this universe."
A plain shirt, brown pants and leather boots appeared on his body. He could feel the weight of the sword on the back of his hip.
The Goddess waved a hand and white portal appeared. "Go now my champion. Go to your new life and save all those you can. I wish you the best of luck my General Crusader."
Wind from the portal started pull Mike towards it. He didn't resist and allowed the portal to pull him in. His vision was blinded by the light, but he could feel what was happening. He felt his body being pulled in dozens of directions. He felt like he was in a pool of thick mud, but was being pushed and pulled through it. Dozens of minutes passed before he fell he was on the ground and cool breeze over his face.
Mike slowly opened his eyes. It was just about mid day. He was in a ruined medieval city. The city itself was made of stone, but completely disheveled. He slowly picked himself up and examined himself. A blue screen appeared in front of him.

"So these are my stats huh? This is interesting." He examined his body and noticed he was exactly the same as before. Although he was slightly more toned. He reached to the sword on his hip and pulled it out. It looked like a Gladius sword with an intricate damascus steel design. The curved handle was wrapped in a red leather with golden stud's. The design on the blade was beautiful that resembled the starry night sky back home. He noticed a brown bag on the ground next to him.
He reach down and sheathed his sword. He opened the bag seeing a filled waterskin, some torches, dried meats, bread, fruit and vegetables and a variety of seeds in packages labeled. He tightened the bag up and threw it over his shoulder and looked around.
The building in this section of the city was ruined and broken down. He looked down the street towards the center of the city. A large castle stood with the castle walls broken down. There was a small smoke pillar coming out of one of the towers of the castle. He knew the first thing he needed to do was get a lay of the land before heading to the castle.
Mike looked around and picked a house. He began walking towards one of the houses on the road that was in better condition of the ones around it. Even then it wasn't in the best condition. One of the stone walls was broken down. The door itself was missing from the hinges. He figured this would be the best house to search through first.
The light shined through the walls and Mike got a lay of the room. The house was small only having three rooms in total. In the living room the had all the furniture was turned over or broken. He looked around and found nothing. In the kitchen all the cabinets and drawers were open and empty. Nothing was left for the taking. As he walked around her heard something in the last room.
He quickly drew his sword at the ready. He was nervous for his first fight, but a grin appeared on his face. He was getting even more excited! As he reached the last room the door was closed, but he could still hear movement behind it. He wasn't sure what to do and just lit his instincts do the talking.
He raised his leg and kicked the door open. Inside the bed was covered in dried blood and a figure sat crouched on the other side. As soon as the door slammed open the creature reacted. It stood up showing is pale green skin. It wasn't tall and barely stood over the bed. Mike noticed a screen above the creatures head.

The Goblin Zombie had blood smeared on its body. It had been eating a person who lived here. Its tooth mouth opened revealing the flesh of the person still stuck in its teeth. Mike had gripped his sword with both hands and lunged at the Goblin Zombie!
The Goblin Zombie also lunged at Mike. It outstretched it's claws to rip into him, but Mike's blade came down quickly. He sliced off the goblins left arm at the shoulder. The Goblin Zombie bled out a viscous black blood, but ignored it's wound. It reached out with its other claw and slashed at Mike's gut. Mike used the momentum of his first swing to then move the blade upward cutting the other Goblin Zombies arm off! He was impressed by his [Swordsmanship Lv 1] skill.
Leaving no other options the Goblin Zombie opened its jaw wide to bite Mike right on his thigh! He grunted in pain as he used the hilt of his weapon to bash the zombies head in.
He kept basking his weapon to the zombies skull till it broke open and died. He kicked the Goblin Zombie off of him with his other leg.
[Goblin Zombie Killed: 100 exp]
A large bite wound was on his thigh. He felt the blood lose and thought the Goblin Zombie had pierced an artery. He dropped his weapon and used both hands to add pressure to the would.
He began to panic as he could feel his body getting colder and colder. He tried to concentrate his mind, but he could feel his consciousness slipping. He focused his mind and thought about trying to use his [Holy Magic Lv1] to heal himself. His hands started to glow a yellowish white color.
After a few seconds he felt himself come to. He didn't feel dizzy anymore or cold. He felt warm and lively again. He removed his hands and saw that the bleeding had stopped, the wound was gone and even his pants were repaired. He was amazed by this!
[Holy Magic: Lesser Healing Lv 1] can heal basic wounds. Can not restore missing limbs.
"Wow! Holy magic is amazing! If I can heal from wounds like that, or heal others, this is going to be great!"
Mike picked his sword and slid it back into its sheath. He looked around the room only finding the corpse of the Goblin Zombie and the mangled body of the person it was eating. Mike said a silent pray to the Goddess of Reincarnation and left the room. He knew he would have many more zombies to kill. And more experience to gain.
He left the ruined house and noticed two more Goblin Zombies had left another house down the block. A smile appeared on his face as he drew his sword and charged the two zombies.
