When fighting those with too much defense and lifeforce it could take very long to bring them to a place where you could give a killing blow.

The fight with Fearion was going well, it was disoriented, immobile and was being contained under the practiced coordination of the elves, but even with all that, killing ancient dragons known as wyrms was never easy, even with all their advantages the fight looked like it would last for at the very least hours.

Due to the dragon scales, muscles and bones it was unbelievably hardy, not a good match for bows and arrows.

The arrows could not penetrate deep enough in the scales and hide to make too the deep significant, only through sheer number and constant hits could they hurt it.

The elves were aware of this fact, to the point where they would only aim for places which would reduce the mobility of the black wyrm even further in a bid to reduce its attacks and fighting power, these places would be the joints of the limbs and the lower part of the jaw, which would reduce the amount the dragon could spew flames, its hard to do a dragon breath when you can't even open your mouth.

-----

The black wyrm was swept by their momentum at first, being brought to a miserable state where it lost an eye, the mobility of its wings and one of its legs, but it was due to it being enraged by the pesky drake and the humiliation it felt at being grounded by mortals.

Even the more insane beings would not endlessly rage, emotions were fickle and rarely remained intense for long, that was the case for most living beings.

It started to fight smarter after a while, no longer being drawn by the bait being left in front of it, instead it started to set the areas around it aflame trying to limit the movement of the little flies, it finally began to see the pesky flies being put in their places.

Having a group composed mostly of hunters and rangers had its advantages in the right places but right now they were starting to lose in an attrition fight.

Fearion could even regain its confident at the sound of screams of pain and sorrow made by its victims, giving it the courage to fight more fiercely than before.

-----

Theo and Selia soon realized that they had underestimated the strength of ancient dragons due to their first encounter with one ending with it on a one-sided slaughter, they came to also realize the power that the little ship they encountered had to kill it in one hit.

They both began to try and think of ways to seal the deal, but were not happy with the results of their tries.

Every time a more dangerous attack was to reach for his vulnerable areas the black wyrm would turn and use its now battered wings to take the brunt of the damage, and if not for the wings it would use its earthen powers to raise walls to defend itself.

This brawl was starting to tilt the scales in favor of Fearion, every enemy it killed meant that less damage was being made to him, it would soon not matter if he was injured because there would be no one to finish him off.

----

Their numbers kept dwindling and rangers who were too hurt had to retreat to not be a burden, even with Theo's healing with both Power of Life and holy light healing it was not enough to heal such large numbers.

Things kept spiraling out of control and morale was starting to take a hit.

Seeing as she could no longer wait for a guaranteed kill, Emmarel took out an arrow that glowed with a silver light and faded shadow, it was something she prepared to use as a execution after making it unable to move, it was her prize for helping a priestess of Elune long ago, she held it for millennia just for this chance.

Seeing the danger emanated by the arrow, the black dragon soon took its focus upon Emmarel, wanting to drown her in flames.

Selia and Theo also noticed its powerful aura, knowing that this was the chance they needed to slay their foe, they made sure to erect a joint barrier of arcane power and holy light around the elven ranger, giving her the time to let the arrow out.

The shot flowed out of the elegant enchanted bow, making a curtain of night draw in its path, the flames around it were extinguished if they were a illusion.

Fear was in the dragon's eye, the same fear it imposed upon so many before, just as wanted by Emmarel he felt the dread of death coming its way.

Moving up, using both legs and wings, those working and those not, it tried to flee up, to atleast evade the arrow if not to just flee this horrible humiliation.

The arrow hit true, taking the flesh on the side of the behemoth, exposing in its inwards and beating heart.

The arrow did not finish him!! He was only severely injured!!

The black dragon saw this as a sign, that even if he should perish, he would bring dread and fear, if they wanted to take him, he would bring them with him to death.

----

The earth shook, it recoiled and bounced, making people unsteady, it soon started to boil, forming a crater where the black dragon stood in its last desperate assault.

The elves, Theo and Selia were drawn in as if they were thrown down a steep hill by the waves of earth that flowed from outside to the interior of the crater.

The dragon also started to have an dangerous air around it, it started to bloat as if reaching its limits ready to explode.

In this time came the might tauren being carried by the silver drake, Theo and Selia got hold of Trag and buffed him with both Arcane weapon damage and all the draconic powers they could.

Trag Highmountain now stronger than he ever felt leap like another arrow launched from a bow, a very strong and sturdy arrow that wielded an axe.

His axe came down bringing a immense pressure, like a mountain coming down along his momentum.

BLOOM!

The earth shook only once more and the dragon died.
