Gorak Tul

The Tyrant of the Drust, he was the one responsible for the war between the kultiran settlers and the drust vrykul, more than two thousands years ago he brought dread and fear to the puny humans, raiding them at every opportunity to teach them who was the lord of the land, he Gorak Tul, Drust King was who owned the land.

Two thousand years of exile in this cursed place, he once was disgusted by this place as much as the other Drust, but he had long since forgotten such feelings, long forgotten his humanity or compassion.

All the time he hid in this place he would remember how the puny humans killed his people and drove them to the brink of extinction, to the point where he had to use the souls of his people to create constructs of war, it was originally the fate of cowards who disobeyed to be made into them, but as time passed close to all became the revenants, their souls put to agony, bolstering his forces, but he also couldn't care less for them.

All that mattered was his revenge and his pride, be them children or woman, as long as they were drust they belonged to him.

Two millenia he stood in this place and had grown strong by absorbing the tormented souls and the shadow that powered the realm.

He felt the calling of the ones beyond, they told him the time was approaching, he felt the veil thinning, or atleast he did.

Some days ago the veil began to strengthen, he no longer felt that the connection to the material world would soon open, all in a span of a month.

But when he began to distress someone opened a way, they entered his realm and locked the door behind them, it meant they were coming for him... he was not let his guests waiting.

-----

The many enemies that came at them were easily dispatched, between the liquid fire, Trag's axe and the holy power of Theo there was little the agonized spirits could do to resist the onslaught.

The deeper they went into the blue mist the more spirits attacked them, they also grew in power.

Atleast that kept happening until there were no more spirits, at some point they no longer showed up, they seemed to not even exist, and the disturbing silence began anew.

For minutes they kept walking in the silence, they would not chat, even Mona knew to not disturb the silence.

("Stop, shadows up ahead...") I said in their heads.

Emmarel got in shooting position, Trag and me got in front of her and Mona, I started to cast a holy shield around us.

I was glad at my caution, for when I finished the shield the surrounding became drowned in sickly grey vines filled with thorns and blue gas.

It would have been nasty to be in this sea of vines, but now we had a safe area to stay in.

("Throw the fire!") I asked of my party

They all threw the bottles into the vines, the fire spread due to the large amount of vials thrown.

I used the wind to the disperse the fog around us, and soon we found ourselves sorrounded by the awaiting horde of cursed spirits.

Among them stood the tall shadow, a blue and viking resembling vrykul, with a pale grey beard and armor made of dark grey roots and thorns.

"It has been very long since I have received guests... You now belong to me, just as does these land." He said while pointing at us, sending a signal for the spirits to advance and for the vines to rush towards us.

The vines quickly went into the fire, many burned, but even thr fire extinguished in the face of so many of them.

("Keep throwing the flasks, don't stop until they are all dead or you have no more")

We had around four enchanted bags filled to brim with liquid fire, it would allows us to atleast thin their numbers quite a bit.

It has been the fourth time that he was about to be drowned in a horde of monsters, he wasn't phased by it anymore, he could keep calm and wait for the moment to attack.

It was a sea of fire, screams, thorns and vines, the only safe place was inside the holy shield he was keeping, it had been only slightly damaged by the first wave of monsters.

Behind the first wave came huge constructs of rotten timber and stone, they would run, walk and crawl towards the shield, even while burning they still managed to hit the shield, making forceful ripples which made Theo begin to work a sweat.

The bigger targets were all targeted by Emmarel with her silver arrows, she would dispatch of the stronger ones and let the fire deal with the weakened ones.

Trag at this point was without much to do and with Mona they kept throwing away the liquid fire adding to the raging flames.

The third wave had huge flying bats, they would make a strange circle in the air above our heads, it looked like a magic circle.

"Emmarel take care of the flyers, Trag you go in and take the big guys!" I said, but before Emmarel or Trag switched to their duties Mona threw herself in the air as a big and mighty falcon, ripping apart the bats.

The ferocity she showed surprised us, but it also allowed for the battle to keep going until the flasks were gone and the monsters had little numbers remaining.

"You are in my domain, feel the vengeance I've nurtured for thousands of years!!" Said Gorak Tul as he finished casting a giant ball of shadow energies that had large black blue vines coming out of it.

The vines went after Mona in the air and shattered my holy shield, the shield was too large to resist concentrated attacks.

Trag finally felt his time to act, he brought his axe at one of the thick vines, cutting it apart and making it disintegrate.

Emmarel didn't let herself be grab, jumping in the air while pinning the vine into the ground with the silver arrows.

I advanced and cut the vines with my now shinning golden wings, letting so much light out of my body that my eyes glowed slighty.

Mona also dodged the vine by shapeshifting into smaller birds, running out of the range of the spell.

Gorak Tul kept his black blue orb, strengthening it and making it larger, it made more condensed and hard vines which were now full of thorns and blue gas.

He kept trying to overwhelm us, putting everyone but me into a difficult spot.

But I had come close enough... I transformed into a full dragon form and let out a powerful breath, it had fire, light and life in it, I aimed at his spell, my breath as the antithesis of it.

BOOOM!

The air exploded with both of us flying out, Gorak Tul was quick to recover, he flew only three meters.

I flew back quite a bit, hitting a tree on my way back, but now i had regrouped with my party, we now had the chance to take the initiative.

Emmarel started our assault, showering Gorak Tul with silver arrows, they would hit only a wall of vines he summoned from the ground, but they still got enough time for Mona to grab Trag and let him down from the air into a powerful strike.

Trag was used to slamming with all his strength from the air at this point, they had more than once done this move, but what he didn't expect was a bolt of tainted energy to hit him squarely in his way downward, making him fly back into the ground far away just as Theo did.

Speaking of the dragon, where was he? Gorak Tul no longer had him under watch. Theo had time stopped and showed behind Gorak Tul.

As soon as he noticed his decrepit neck hair stand on end it was already too late, the Golden Living Flames of the dragon breath were already upon him.
