Chapter 41: Blood for Blood

(Lava looking at the new bodyguard that had come to accompany him)

"I don't need a guard, i can do fine on my own" Lava said to him

"Your safety is all that matters sir, that's why i am here" The bodyguard said to him

"I already have two bodyguard, i don't need you" Lava told him

"Mr. Hansel fired the both of them few minutes ago, they weren't doing their job right" the bodyguard said to him

"He did what?" Lava asked looking startled as he was sure the bodyguards came into the company with him earlier

"They are gone, it's an order from your father" the guard told him

"Well, you are fired too" Lava said to him

"I think you didn't hear me well enough sir, Mr. Hansel your father asked me to protect you; i only take orders from him" the bodyguard said starring into his eye

Lava scoffed after starring at him for few minutes

"You are the twentieth bodyguard i had in just two months, what made you think you are going to last longer than the rest?" Mr. Lava asked him

"Because i am very different from them, none of them are like me" he responded

Lava laughed " That's a huge word coming out from someone that I am way taller than" Lava teased

"My name is Gretel" he said as Lava almost choked on his own saliva

"Gretel? what sort of rubbish and feminine name is that?" he asked

"Mr. Hansel gave me that name, he says it would make us look closer to each other like Hansel and Gretel from the story" he answered

Lava stood there looking at him in total confusion.

It hasn't even passed a day Mr. Hansel addressed the media about the psychopathic murder going around, now the news about the massacre of workers at the shipyard had circulated the internet as people stayed back at home in fear; they wondered what exactly was going on in the city. Reporters and Journalists were everywhere searching for answers to the sudden massacre as others thought to themselves that the murderers must have picked offense from what the mayor had said on the Tv.

"This is getting out of hand sir; they are attacking every businesses run by you" Idris told Mr. Hansel

"That is exactly how i plan to lure Mr. Charles out and destroy him for good, I promised not to get blood on my hand while running these businesses but Mr. Charles haven't really been following the righteous path with me; He has the audacity to ambush my men years ago after a business deal we sealed together, he broke the brotherhood bond years ago. I refuse to pay deaf ears now even though he is my cousin" Mr. Hansel said

"Give us your orders sir" Idris said to him

"Blood for blood, you have my orders to take down anyone causing chaos in the city" Mr. Hansel ordered

"What about the monsters roaming around the city? The sea-witch seems to be part of these murders" Idris told him

"Until the experiments are done, we are not messing with them; we are going to let them fight each other to death" Mr. Hansel said

"If you say so sir, I will make sure Mr. Charles men doesn't terrorize the city again" Idris Promised.

(Oma's Home)

"Are you sure you want to see me transform?" Erica asked Oma from where she was standing as she watches Oma bath

"Yes, you have seen my nakedness, it's not bad if i see what you look like once" Oma said from the bathtub 

"You are acting naughty now" Erica said to her

"Come on, geez... no one is at home right now, i just want to see your true nature" Oma exclaimed

"it's becoming more painful for me to transform" Erica told her gently

"Really? you never told me about your transformation, is it because you are here on land?" Oma asked coming out from the bathtub

"Yes, am becoming weaker; but i can't go back knowing the sea-witch is here" Erica responded

"You don't have to do it, I don't want you to be in pain, i am so stupid for asking you to transform in your condition" Oma said silently showing remorse

"I am glad you did; you are the first human to ask me that; I want you to see me for who I am" Erica said with a smile on her face, with that she silently undressed herself, she handed Oma her necklace before walking into the bathtub.

Oma watched Erica silently grunt when her bones started reforming into that of a mermaid, Oma found herself tearing up as if she was the one transforming in place of Erica, she saw Erica's legs merge together forming a fish tale, scales forms on her skin and pointy spikes formed on her back too, her nails grew longer than the actual size and her eye glows blue.

"Oh my God" Oma said as she had seen her true self up close. Erica looked at her to see Oma's expression at what she had seen

"You are beautiful, your transformation was bitter and amazing" Oma said coming closer to her

"You are just saying it to make me feel better, you would call me a monster if you don't know me "Erica told her

"Can you not ruin the mood" Oma told her

"Okay" Erica responded with a grin

"Do every Siren look like you when you transform?" Oma asked curiously

"Yes, but few sirens have a different color of tail" she told her "And also, the sea-witch is very different from us, Olga is a sea monster not accepted at the sea, she is a ticking bomb at both worlds; I must not let her stay here" Erica told Oma.
