*POISONING IN THE PALACE*

"You are like a rose, you have prickly thorns outside but beautiful in a delicate kind of way." She smiled warmly at him and Lucas was at loss for words. He touched his chest and felt his heart beating faster.

Lisa noticed Lucas's face turning red and he immediately turned away.

'W-was he blushing?.'

She opened her mouth, surprised by what she was seeing.

"Lucas your face is red." She pointed out and he used his hand to block her view.

"You must be seeing things." He answered without facing her and she pulled down his hand and cupped his face in her hand, leaning close and his face turned to a darker shade of red.

"You really are blushing." She whispered in disbelief, staring into his eyes and he did the same.

"Why are you so close?." He whispered back softly and his warm breath fell on her face.

Lisa watched him closely, noticing his change in behaviour. He was acting like a scared bunny. How strange. She leaned in closer and Lucas stood up abruptly, leaving her speechless.

"I- Uh.. you must be hungry. Let us go and eat a little." He said nervously and she blinked at him.

'Now, he was acting more than strange.'

Nodding her head, she followed Lucas to the dining room who seemed to be deep in his thoughts. Arriving at the dining, the maids set the dishes and Lucas was too busy in his thoughts to realise that she had already started eating. This time she went for meat.

"Lucas are you okay?" She asked him genuinely and he nodded. His face turning back to thier usual pale colour without a tinge of red.

"You should eat well since this might be the last time you are taking meat. Next time I'll make sure to take you to a forest to feed you enough leaves." He smiled mischievously and Lisa almost Spilled out the food in her mouth.

'Yes.. her Lucas was back.'

When she had her fill. She smiled in content but noticed that Lucas hadn't even tasted a single thing.

"You haven't eaten a thing Lucas." She frowned at him.

"I was watching you." He said simply and she blushed.

"You are the most beautiful sight I've ever seen." He complimented and Lisa blushed further. Was he trying to take revenge on her!?.

A cough escaped her lips and she used her palm to cover her mouth. Why was it so painful?.

"What's wrong?." Lucas asked worriedly.

She removed her palm but gasped at what she saw. There was blood on her palm. She coughed again and more blood Spilled from her mouth.

"Lisa!" Lucas hurriedly stood up and tapped her cheeks. She was losing conciousness.

"Lucas, it hurts." She groaned and coughed out blood. She tried keeping her eyes open but she could barely see a thing. Everything was spinning continually and Lucas's voice was becoming distant.

Lucas' eyes immediately searched around the room for what was making her throw up blood and his eyes spotted the food. His eyes changed completely from blue to red when he realised what happened under his nose.

'She was poisoned!' He gritted his teeth and scooped Lisa into his arms, appearing at his room and laying her on the bed.

"Lucas.." She groaned, her face contorted in pain. Green veins bulged from her skin and she creased her forehead.

"I'm coming Lisa, please stay with me." He said softly and rammed his head for the cure. He contacted Theodore telepathically and he appeared.

"Gather all the maids in the palace and take them to the dining." Theodore nodded and disappeared soon after.

Lucas climbed on the bed and stared at Lisa hesitantly. There was only one way to save her and he knew she would flip if she woke up.

Leaning in, he placed his lips gently against hers and slipped his tongue into her mouth easily and breath in. Carresing her face he blew some his breath through her mouth and she gasped separating them from the kiss. The green bulging veins on her skin disappeared and her breathing became even

but the same couldn't be said for her red face.

"W-why did you kiss me!?" She screamed at him and he shrugged.

'Did he have a death wish for her!?'

"You were poisoned so I used one of my powers on you. The breath of life. It was only possible through mouth to mouth contact." He answered calmly.

"I-i was poisoned?" She said in realisation and he nodded.

How dare someone poison her under his watch. That person will die at his hands. Today.

"The poison is an ancient one that exposes creatures of the dark in the presence of humans." He dropped the news slowly and Lisa blinked at him.

"What do you mean?" She asked him cautiously, completely forgetting about thier kiss.

"You are one of us, a creature of the dark. You are a witch Lisa." He informed her and she stared blankly at him before letting out a long laugh. After laughing she looked at him and saw that he didn't even smile.

'Was he serious?'

"You must be joking." She told him and he rolled his eyes, helping her out of the bed.

"Whether you believe it or not, we will solve that later, for now we need to find the person that had tried to kill you." He said coldly and pulled her close to him.

The next second they were no longer in the room but at the dining table with maids that stood on a long straight line and thier heads bowed.

Noticing thier position, Lisa pulled away from Lucas embarrassed.

"Have you found the person?" Lucas asked Theodore who stood in front of the maids without saying a word.

"Not yet."

Lucas walked up to the line and glanced at every single maid suspiciously.

" If you know that you are the culprit come out before I drag you out." He spoke, his voice echoing around the room and some maids shivered at its coldness.

But still not a single maid made an effort to move.

Sighing angrily, he approached one of the maids and dragged her out, throwing her on the floor forcefully.

"I give you one second to tell me who sent you, or else.."
