<p>Elizabeth's POV<br/><br/> Listening to Damien speak made me realize how foolish, immature, and ignorant he was. For the past hour, he has been spewing gibberish from that mouth of his. I wonder what that stupid girl must have said to him to confuse his feeble brain.<br/> <br/> "Mum stop staring at me mockingly. I know what I'm saying" He informed.<br/> <br/> "Well, I thought you would be better now as many responsibilities are on you but guess what, you've just disappointed me," I said, shaking my head in regret.<br/><br/> "Mum is not what you think besides I believe you know Uncle Davis more than I do so don't you think he is capable of such?" He questioned, making me gnash my teeth in anger due to his rotten statement.<br/> <br/> Staring at him, I couldn't control the urge anymore as I stood up to smack his right cheek.<br/> <br/> "How dare you speak ill words concerning your uncle huh?" I asked in rage.<br/> <br/> Damien's POV<br/> <br/> Still, on the couch, I held onto my cheek just received a resounding smack from my mum.<br/><br/> "I can see you cherish the words of a stranger more than that of your own family. I'm gravely disappointed in you" She exclaimed in anger as she made her way upstairs to her room.<br/> <br/> I remained seated as a memory of the past came flooding my mind.<br/><br/> ***FLASHBACK***<br/> <br/> "Hi Jenny" I greeted, sitting at the little space left on the small bench behind the school building but within the compound.<br/><br/> "Hey Dam" She replied with a sad smile planted on her beautiful face.<br/> <br/> "Why do you look so distant and disturbed?" I asked worriedly.<br/> <br/> "Nope Dam I'm okay just a little tired besides any time I remember that I would have to go help Dad in the bakery after school, I feel down".<br/> <br/> Wrapping my arms around her, I drew her into my embrace.<br/> <br/> "Remember you're all daddy is got so you have to help out and I promise to come to help you out today if that is okay by you," I replied not failing to notice the ray of happiness that flashed through those almond eyes of hers as she looked up at me.<br/> <br/> "That would be the best" She replied.<br/> <br/> "Okay. I think my uncle is here now so see you later at the bakery" I informed but what got my attention was the change in her facial expression at the mention of 'my uncle'.<br/> <br/> "Are you okay Jenny?" I asked<br/> <br/> "Y...e..s I am" She stuttered.<br/> <br/> "Okay then bye," I bade her farewell as I approached my uncle's car with my mind still occupied with Jenny's action earlier on.<br/><br/> "Is Jenny not coming with you today?" He asked.<br/> <br/> "Nope, maybe tomorrow" I answered as a hint of disappointment flashed through his eyes leaving me surprised.<br/> <br/> "Why staring at me like I did something wrong?" He asked me.<br/> <br/> "Well, I'm surprised you've started getting along well with Jenny unlike before" I answered.<br/> <br/> "Well let's just say it was bound to happen" He intercepted with a deep smile.</p>
