Twilight in Obsidian

“Please take me with you,” the woman whispered. Her voice was dry and hoarse, her body trembled like a leaf on an unsettled wave. Was it because of the crime she had just committed, or was it because of the aura the man before her gave off? She must be sick, both in and out of the head. Everything in her said not to ask for help, or at least not to ask him for help, nevertheless, here she was bowing her head down before him. “Now, why would I do that?” His dark, airy voice filled her ears. His voice sent shivers down her spine, making her freeze in her spot. Her head sank to the floor, unmoving. “I do anything from cleaning to washing, and cooking,” she said, muttering her words, timidly. The man hunched down to her size and uttered, his breath tickling her neck. “Have you met me before?” “No, but I can—” She began to say, as if he were contemplating her request but was quickly interrupted. “Don't be so quick to sell yourself to death.” Passing through her, he left her to crumble on the ground. °∆° "Did you think I would let you go after I found you? Do you know how long I have waited for this moment?” His voice deepened with each word that fell off his lips. The woman stepped back, not wanting to get close to this terrifying man. “I am being truthful, Your Highness. I don't know you, Your Majesty, our families haven't met for any reason. So please let me go,” she whispered. Her body touched the wall. Now she was stuck between the wall and the terrifying man. “Please, My Lord, I don't know what you are talking about,” She whimpered. He placed his strong hands on her hip, giving it a light squeeze as he pulled her closer to his chest. He whispered into her ears, “I missed you so much, it's been a long while, My love” He placed his head on hers °∆° R18 PLEASE NOTE THAT THE BOOK COVER ISN'T MINE, IT WAS FOUND AND REDESIGNED BY ME. Meeting the Sibling of Destiny and Fate

~Chapter 18~

Oona and Hobris grew to their actual size as they were previously in a palm size with tiny wings.

Hobris is a tall and slender young man with tousled ebony hair that falls just past his shoulders. He had striking emerald eyes and seemed to hold secrets of the world. His skin is fair, marked with scattering freckles.

Hobris possessed an air of quiet wisdom and introspection. He is known for his deep connection to nature and often spends his days wandering the empty meadows, communing with nature and the animals.

The male seer's attitude is one of serenity and patience. He believes in the slow unraveling of time and the importance of listening to the whispers of the wind and the rustling sound of nature's leaves.

He is a careful thinker, preferring to consider all angles before offering his prophetic insights.

Oona, in contrast, is an ethereal beauty that seems to be drawn from nature itself. She is a petite and fiery redhead with a cascade of curls that frame her heart-shaped face.

Her eyes were a brilliant shade of sapphire blue. It shimmered with an unquenchable shade of curiosity. Her skin carries a warm sun-kissed glow from her adventures under the open sky along with her brother.

Her attitude is one of compassion. She is deeply connected to the mystical energies of the world and has a profound sense of empathy. She is easily moved to tears, weeping and rejoicing at the thought of her loved ones being prosperous.

Together, they form a harmonious duo, a yin and yang seer abilities, bringing balance and enlightenment to the gods.

"So would you help me?" Sephtis asked. His voice was calm and low, but still had it serious tone to it.

"OF COURSE!!" The twins said with utter sincerity. Determination gleamed in their eyes as they looked at him.

Hobris stood up to walk around the table, "Therefore, I am guessing you want us to read your fate?" his question was left unanswered as the god of Daemarral just stared into nothingness.

He was completely lost in his thoughts. He indeed wanted to find out who his mate was. He genuinely didn't need the seers to give him some riddle for him to solve on a run.

What he frankly required was a complete physical description of who she was, what her name was, and where to find her. And once he found her, he was going to kill her.

He was going to kill her and completely obliterate her soul and spirit from existence. He already had enough nonsense to deal with in Daemarral, then some unfortunate idiot decided to release Jinx, therefore he didn't plan to add 'find your chosen mate' into the mix of it all.

A flair of redness flashed in his eyes. He looked down to see Oona hugging him, her red hair flaring around softly with the slow movement of the wind.

"So you want to find her?" Hobris asked yet again.

"Hmm," he replied.

"You know what?! I, too, want to see Sephtis mate" Oona spoke up enthusiastically.

"Why?! It is nothing special, probably some other goddess or demigod".

"But still, I would want to know. Because, truth be told, everyone has been on edge since it began to spread around that Sephtis has been destined a mate" The red-haired stated with a shrug like it wasn't of any importance.

"Don't you immortals have nothing better to do than to pry into other people's lives?"

"Well, in our defense, it is not every time that higher Gods have mates. The last one was Astus and you remember how that turned out" Hobris reminded.

"If Astus should hear you, you will be dead, faster than you can envisage." The god warned cautiously.

Hobris looked into the crystal ball, it had lit up for a moment while they were conversing.

Hobris stretched his hands towards Sephtis, motioning for him to place his palm over his. Immediately he did so, with a swift motion his palm was slit and his blood trailed down into the bowl.

The cut immediately healed, and the sharp, unexpected pain came to a halt. Three pairs of eyes stayed motioned on the crystal.

Sephtis blood twirled around inside the crystal. The solid crystal began looking like there was water inside it, which was not the case.

The blood melted closer, around the edges of the ball, till the clear crystal became a deep blood color.

Oona pulled off from Sephtis and went closer to her brother.  She placed her hands underneath the crystal, while Hobris placed his above the ball. It began to spin, the tempo slowly increased as it flew up the ceiling.

It gave off a white, bright light. Before it finally fell in between the three. It kept a steady spin in the air before the glow diminished and the fell to the table.

Oona's brows furrowed, and her face ashen, she lifted her green eyes and glared dreadfully at Sephtis "You are planning to kill her aren't you?"

The shock was expressed on his face and he looked at the female seer. Disgust and disappointment were expressed across her face. Well, she was always one to wear on her emotions, so it didn't come off as a surprise to him.

"It is not surprising that you would find out," Sephtis said, leaning back on his chair causally as he kept his eyes strained on the seers.

Soon there was a choking aura that suddenly flared up within the room. Cerberus began howling and scratching on the walls and doors.

Hobris locked the door and cast a spell. Even though the Cerberus was still howling, it wasn't audible inside the house.

"We are not telling you where she is just so you could get to kill her" Oona shouted. She slammed her hands over the table just to get her point across.

"Lord Sephtis would it not be better if you got to know her, rather than outwardly trying to end her life?" Hobris spoke calmly, he seemed more mentally rational than his sister.

"No, I do not want to. So tell me what I need to know" Oona's lips folded in a hard pout.

"You are the worst"

"I try my best to be"

Her eyes cut into a slit as she stared hard at him. "Well, shall we see what we get? We aren't even sure if she would get the exact location or description on her."

"Huh?! What do you mean?" Sephtis asked, finally sitting up.

"Oh? Have you forgotten how it works?" Oona stated, glaring at him with a mean look. "It was only your blood that was dipped into the crystal ball, therefore we were only able to look into your thoughts and intentions, that was how we found out your goal was to kill her" She revealed.

Sephtis gritted on his teeth as he realized, he had been found out. He opened his mouth to debate on it, but Hobris beat him to it.

"Sister, in regardless of what we see, it is our job to give our divine Vision. It is not up for debate, therefore let's just do our job and send him on his merry way" Hobris said dryly.

He was also upset about the sudden revelation, but he was a very professional god and would not let his issues or misunderstandings get in the way of his job.

"That would be very much appreciated" Sephtis acknowledged, making Oona roll her eyes and click on her tongue.

"Honestly, I don't want to" Oona voiced out her truth, making Hobris sigh. "We are just leading an innocent goddess to her death!!"

"I am still present in case you have forgotten" Oona rolled her eyes and clicked her tongue again. It was as though every time Sephtis spoke, it irritated her.

"That is an unfortunate truth" she replied snarky. Making Hobris and Sephtis sigh.

"C'mon, let's just get this over with," Hobris said, and his sister nodded her head.

With a smooth and fluid motion, the siblings cut themselves, and droplets of blood entered the crystal. It swirled around like it did with Sephtis blood.

But this time rather than blend into the crystal, the seer's blood both disappeared from the ball. There was a flash of blinding light that distracted Sephtis for a moment, making him close his eyes for a moment. Only for a moment, but that was more than enough for the seers to foresee their vision.

This was how and also why none of the gods could see the vision, because regardless of how high their position was, the light was so bright for them that they always ended up closing their eyes.

With dull and distant eyes, the siblings began

"Beware, dear traveler of fate, for the stars have woven a tale of love. In the dim light of destiny, under the silent gaze of a crescent moon, I see a tapestry of emotions, both dark and tender. Your path, entangled with the thread of a cursed notion, shall unravel most unexpectedly. The idea that once bore the mark of death, like a poison-tipped arrow, shall wither and dissipate into the ether".

"Within the depths of your soul, where the shadows once whispered the allure of doom, a love shall bloom. It is a love written not in blood but in the ink of redemption. A woman, a mysterious figure with eyes in the shade of purple which holds the wisdom of ages and a heart that beats in harmony with yours, shall cross your path".

"Her presence shall be a balm to your tormented thought, a beacon of hope in the darkest of nights. The sinister idea that once gnawed at your conscience shall lose its grip and like a nightmare fade into the Twilight of the night".

"But, listen, my dear seeker of love, remember that destiny is a web, intricately woven, and its threads can't be easily unraveled"
