The first round of qualifiers begun. A panel of officials acted as referees and judges as they sat on all four sides of the arena, with the other contestants and the scant number of spectators taking seats behind them. There were 128 participants, out of which the top 16 qualify for the main tournament. So, three fights per person. The rules were simple, you either knock out your opponent or have them give up. There were a few masked priests on standby, but heavily injuring your opponent ends in a disqualification.
