Just as suddenly as the leaderboard showed up and many vows and discoveries were made, another prompt appeared on the screens of everybody.

[Beasts have appeared along the outer walls of the city]

[Teleportation cost 10 low spirit stones there and back]

[Beware, outside the walls, all protection functions are lost]

[Killing beasts give spirit stones of varying degrees]

[If no one kills them, beasts will start appearing in the city as the city protection formation starts to break down, though this will occur in 1 years time]

[Good Luck!]

Everyone was startled and excited by the news. Finally, a good source of income and power!

Many peoples eyes gleamed as they started their preparations.

---

In the shower, Trevor noticed this information and quickly left. He would be getting dirty soon anyway.

"Hey Alice, what are the beast ranks, are they similar to cultivation?"

[Trevor, the beast ranks are similar to sentient species, however they grow by devouring flesh and blood of others]

[There cultivation ranks go Private which is body refining, Lieutenant, Corporal, Sergeant, Captain, Colonel and General which is Immortal Ascension]

Trevor slowly nodded, quickly accepting the familiar names of the cultivation ranks. It doesn't matter anyway.

He quickly geared up to start his conquest and build a supreme foundation for himself.

Alice had told him that with every cultivation stage, it can be refined to a so called supreme foundation. For body refining, that would mean 9 full refinements for his entire body. Currently, he has a basic foundation for the body refining stage which is 1 refinement, which is enough to go to Qi Condensation.

The supreme foundation will allow him to travel through the realms with more ease and obtain greater realms.

However, with every refinement, his body will become stronger making it harder to refine. This is why he used so many spirit stones, to make it easier for him to cultivate the Qi coming in and strengthening his body.

However, to cultivate the supreme foundation, he needed many spirit stones, many more than he had right now as well as many treasured items.

A gleam flickered in his eyes.

This would be fun.

Trevor flickered and disappeared.

When people clicked the button, they were instantly teleported to the gate leading to sub-city 1 and a large road that had massive fences. There were a total of 100 of these gates that were a 100 metres wide and 200 tall, each leading to every sub-city.

The sub-city were not little circles protruding out of a larger one as what Trevor thought, but were instead conjoined in a massive ring that surrounded the main city, separated into 100 quadrants. Between this ring and the city lay massive and fertile land, which could be used to build or farm other things, after all, only basic things are sold in the shop.

---

Trevor appeared at the gate wondering where the monsters where, just as confused as the lingering people. Many people started walking out of the walls that towered in the sky, whereby no one knew the height with an eye.

However, there were still no beasts to fight.

"Bro, where are the beasts, the system teleported us here but there is nothing."

"I have no clue as well, perhaps something will happen."

As Trevor was looking around, he was a slight glimpse in the distance. A greyish wall stood surrounding his vision. Trevor had the ability to see a good 100 km because of his refined body, but no one else could.

Quickly, he started running out, but realising the great distance, he purchased a teleportation for 87 kilometres of distance.

[Unable to teleport. Outside of city boundaries. You must upgrade the city in order to be able to use teleportation here and expand your borders]

Trevor glimpsed into the distance and started jogging. There was no cars or bicycles or anything convenient at all for this distance, so running is all one could do to get to the end.

As he exited the city gates, Trevor felt naked as if something was stripped from him. He presumed it was him losing the protection of the city formation.

Trevor sprinted at 80km/h out into the plains. Many people looking at the slowly vanishing figure was awe-struck. Damn, a cultivator already appeared!

Many people started to follow Trevor's example and walked out, and felt a similar stripping just like Trevor. They had already tried to teleport into the plain but realised that they couldn't so walking was the only option.

But now, many were scared. What if some flying bird appeared and killed us. No amount of crying would save me. Quickly, many people turned around and teleported home in order to start cultivating in order to get stronger.

Nevertheless, some talented cultivators as well as fearless people started trekking out into the distance. Thankfully, the system function like the shop and bag were still there for use.

---

Just over an hour later, Trevor arrived at the gates of the outer ring. Turning his head left and right, the walls seemed to be perfectly straight, however, they were in fact slightly curved, having millions of nautical miles worth of wall.

Stepping through the gate, Trevor saw that there was very little things there. The wall itself was a couple kilometres thick before reaching another wall.

However, looking around, Trevor saw that this was a rest bay for injured cultivators. There were very few beds that were orderly scattered along the sides of the walls. Continuing past this wall, he reached another area that contained many chairs and tables, but nothing else. However, in a far corner approximately a hundred metres away from the doorway stood a massive banner that said "Quests".

Walking up to it, a light blue screen popped up showing Trevor quests.

[Killing Goblins x 10--Requirement: None--Time Limit: None--Reward: 15 Low spirit stones]

[Killing Kobolds x 10--Requirement: Skin-Refining--Time Limit: None--65 Low spirit stones]

[Gather Trash Grade Chamomile x 10--Time Limit: 1 day--Reward: 50 Low spirit stones]

[Gather Common Grade Chamomile x 10--Time Limit: 1 day--Reward: 450 Low spirit stones]

...

There were endless amounts of tasks one can do. One can post tasks or do them as they wish. For Trevor, these tasks didn't mean too much at the lower levels due to his low cultivation, however he could kill random beasts and then come and do the tasks before getting the rewards. Who wouldn't want free money?

Walking away from the empty desk, he walked over to a massive archway that had a soft red glow. This was the cities defence formation and the beasts on the other side cannot get through.

All the intelligent beasts know this and thus don't stay around here, however the less intelligent ones simply use instinct to hunt, and gather around the scent of prey. However, there were none here yet as there were no humans.

Trevor thought about a building a defence line 100 metres away from the gate so that cultivators can easily leave the city.

Just as he was pondering this, a rabbit with a horn appeared

[Species: Devil Rabbit]

[Cultivation: None]

Trevor smiled and tried to pet it, however, the rabbit didn't give him a chance and immediately jumped at him. Surprised, Trevor smacked the rabbit hoping to get it away, but instead smashed it's head into a bloody pulp.

At first, Trevor was somewhat disgusted and guilty for the death. But he quickly shrugged the feeling off. This guy wouldn't hesitate to kill me, so why should I?"

"Gulp. Damn I'm strong"

[Low spirit stone +1]

[Congratulations on first kill Trevor]

[For being first person to kill beast in the Universe, galaxy and planet, you are rewarded with 555 Medium spirit stones]

Trevor grinned looking at this notification from Alice.

He quickly washed off the blood from his hand and started walking deeper into the forest, sword in hand.
