Search for a Spiritual Path

I had visited a lot of places. In reality and in dreams and during meditation too.The likes that any normal person cannot comprehend. My father was working as a lecturer teaching History in a private college. He appeared for an interview conducted by the Ethiopian Government and was selected to teach in Ethiopia. My brother, my mother and I went with my father to Ethiopia where he worked in a place called Djimma. Initially, he taught History but later he shifted to English and then taught Maths only. We were in Ethiopia for 6 years and visited many places including the capital Addis Ababa. My younger brother and sister were born there. The Ethiopian calendar has 13 months. The last month comprises of a few days and is a holiday month.

My father appeared for an interview in the Zambian Embassy and got selected. Thereafter, we went to Zambia. My Dad was posted to the Copperbelt region there in a city called Chingola. I studied in the primary and the secondary school from 5th class onwards. My youngest brother was born there. I came to India in April 1977 to continue further studies. I did my Bachelors in Science and Masters in History (like my Dad). Thereafter, a lot of competitive examinations I had to appear in to finally qualify.

There has always been an element of something different. When one writes true events into a novel, especially those of trying times and combating illnesses, the belief of readers about miracles happening is strengthened.

Many of us are saved by our guardian angels, or our children are saved by others than doctors. The ways of God are mysterious. He sends others to help or he comes himself to help. Someone had come to save me when I had a severe attack of asthma when I was 8 months old.

My father was going to call the doctor to pay a home visit to see me. Someone called him by name, as he was walking. My father turned around and this saint-like person told my father that going to the doctor would cause delay and I would die. He told my father to buy a herb stick from a nearby shop and tie it around my neck after getting it fitted in a casket. My father did that, thinking he would go to the doctor after it was tied. My mother tied it around my neck after threading through the casket's hook. Thereafter, I started breathing normally.

Then my father realized that he had neither thanked that person nor asked him his name. He went looking for that saint-like person but he could not find him anywhere.

I was taken by the tiny angel to heaven where the new planets, new stars or should I saw new worlds are made. I was also taken to a meditation center where people were meditating. This is how my story began:-

I sometimes wonder why was I chosen? People do not believe in these things. I, being an ex-science student, found that these things were not quite believable. Yes, I do believe in a God and believe that mankind, no matter what be his religion or whichever region of the world he belongs to, has a pathway to meet his creator. These pathways could be different but the destination is the same. I never was a religious sort of person who followed rituals. Then why were these things happening with me which could not be explained? Maybe I was to tell people, through my writing, that there was a world beyond this world and we would meet someone from that world if we believed in goodness, doing good deeds etc. The world is moving towards spirituality where ritualism has no place.

It was the year 2000, and my husband saw posters for learning Reiki Level 1. He asked me to learn but I asked him to go first as I was looking after my kids, who were babies at that time. He went and came back saying he did not understand anything. Everything had gone over his head and I should go and learn this system of healing. So, the next week, I went to learn Reiki Level 1 while my husband looked after the kids. I argued a lot with the teacher who was teaching Reiki 1. She gave the required lesson and then at the time of attunement, my attention was not looking inwards but I was trying to understand what she was doing. Even though my eyes were closed, I could feel her moving around me.

Soon the attunement was done and my teacher had a headache. She said that I had a lot of negativity within me. I did not want to go ahead and practise. But my husband told me to go ahead. As I did the 21 days of the daily 1-hour practice every day with my eyes closed, something started to happen from within.

The darkness in front of my closed eyes disappeared and I could see white light with lots of symbols of various religions entering my third eye. Thereafter I could see the entire side light up as if the sun had risen. Soon I started seeing a pulsating white light right at the centre of my forehead right between the eyebrows. I used to gyrate sometimes to the left and sometimes to the right. I could not figure out why I was doing that.

I asked my teacher but she told me to ask myself. Later, I learnt that gyrating to the left means getting rid of negative energies we accumulate in our body due to anger, frustration, sorrow or if anyone shouts at us etc. Negative energies are also the toxins produced in our bodies by the medicines we take which do not entirely pass out of the body.

When we gyrate to the right side, we absorb the positive vibrations from around us as well as from the God energy that surrounds us. This energy travels inside us through the funnel-shaped receptors called Chakras then through meridians to the various organs and areas that require healing. The toxins and negative energy move out through the feet. Once you become aware, you can keep illnesses at bay. In fact, you can stop illnesses coming to you and making you sick. Spiritual healing actually removes some of the negativeness and makes you better. The earlier the illness is removed the better. Headaches, body pain colds and coughs do not need medicines. Meditation removes them. Actually, we all can heal ourselves from minor ailments by using our personal energy. We just need to be reminded to do so.

There are 7 main Chakras in the body which are in front of us and behind us. These correspond to the endocrine system and are in the colours of the rainbow.

The 1st Chakra is the Root Chakra/ Base Chakra and is found in the coccyx, where the spine is joint and curved, It controls the Excretory System, Muscular System and the Skeletal System. The organs associated are the Kidneys, Bladder, Spinal Column and the Legs. Its functions are Security, Survival, Grounding, Fear and Physical Energy. The gland connected is the Adrenal gland.

The 2nd Chakra is Orange in colour and is found just below the belly button. It is called the Reproductive Chakra also the Sacral Chakra. It controls the Reproductive System. The organs associated are the Gonads. Its function is to control Anger, Action Peace etc. If anything is wrong with this system, healing on this chakra helps. The gland connected is the Gonads.

The next higher one or the 3rd Chakra is the Solar Plexus Chakra and is found on the stomach. It controls the Digestive System. It is yellow in colour. The associated organs are the Liver, Stomach, Gallbladder, Large Intestine and the Spleen. The function that it affects is Emotion, Power, Wisdom and Action. Stomach upsets, indigestion even headache, sometimes due to gas issue, etc is indicated if the colour of the chakra is found to be mustard or dirty yellow. Healing helps to cure these ailments. The gland connected is the Pancreas.

The 4th one is green in colour and is called the Heart Chakra. It is found right above the heart. The system that it controls is the Circulatory System. The associated organs are the Heart, Lungs, Blood, Liver, Vagus nerve and the Arms. The functions that it affects is Group Consciousness, Love, Compassion and Life Energy. Since this chakra is the central chakra it helps in the healing of all the chakras. The gland connected is the Thymus.

The 5th Chakra is the Throat Chakra and is sky blue in colour. The system that it controls is the Lymphatic System. The associated organs are the Throat, Upper Lungs, Alimentary Canal, Bronchial and Vocal Apparatus. The functions affected are Communication, Self-Expression, Creative Energy and Sound. It helps throat issues like thyroid as well as asthma. It is also in charge of confidence issues. The gland connected is the Thyroid.

The 6th one is Third Eye Chakra. It is navy blue in colour and is found in between the eyebrows. The system that it controls is the Autonomous Nervous system. The associated organs are the Hypothalamus, Lower Brain, Spine, Left Eye, Nose and Ears. The functions affected are the Third Eye, Intuition, Clairvoyance, Intelligence, Light and Telepathy. It is related to spiritual advancement as well as intelligence. The gland connected is the Pituitary gland.

The 7th Chakra is the Crown Chakra and is found above the head. It is said to be violet in colour. The system that it controls is the Cerebrospinal Nervous System. The organs associated are the Upper Brain and the Right Eye. The functions affected are Spiritual Vision and Enlightenment. The gland connected is the Pineal gland.

If one does not believe in this positive energy as God energy, you can think of it as Cosmic energy or Universal energy.

After 21 days, I had finished my practice and went to tell my teacher. She heard all that had happened to me and asked me to come for the next level. So, I landed at her house to learn the next level.

Reiki Level 2 teaches you distant healing and how to do proper meditation. This time at the attunement level, I paid attention to my inner growth, my inner self. I saw an immense white light which was so blinding that tears started to flow from my eyes. I saw the Goddess of Learning come out of this blinding white light. She understood that I could not face the immense bright white light so she changed it to a navy blue background so that I could see her properly. She stood in front of me, blessing me with raised hands and stood for some time. Then she went back in the manner she had come. After she went back I saw the double helix shape made by two snakes which is a symbol of doctors. Then that symbol also disappeared.

Then again I did the 21 days practice as was necessary. This time I was seeing flowers with different numbers of petals. Sometimes 4, 6, 10, 12, 16, 2 and many with tiny dots in them. I did not know what I was seeing. When I told my teacher, she said you are ready for the next level. But try to see what is inside the flowers and where are these flowers? I went back and told her that the flowers were somewhere in my spinal cord as transparent flowers. In front of me and behind me were the colored ones corresponding to the concerned Chakra of that area. She asked me to look within. Therein some, I saw a fire, in some, I saw water etc.

As soon as I got my book for Reiki Level 3 and I turned to the first page I was zapped. The first page showed the Chakras and the petals that I was seeing in meditation while practising Reiki 2. The petals were the petals of the chakras as 4 of Base Chakra, 6 of Sacral Chakra, 10 of the Solar Plexus, 12 of the Heart Chakra, 16 of the Throat Chakra and 2 of the Third Eye Chakra. The numerous petals were of the Crown Chakra. The next page showed the connected organs and the systems. What I was seeing in meditation were the chakras. I was so happy that the things that I could not figure out, were there at the next level of the book.

After the attunement, I was asked to undergo another 21 days practice and the teacher would see when I was ready for the next level which is Master level.

Thereafter I learnt Master level the higher two levels.

She also taught me Divine Reiki 1,2, 3 and attuned me to Divine Reiki Master before she left for the USA.

My visions in meditation ranged from the huge eye that scared me to the walk amongst the stars with a spiritual being the visit to a spiritual place of worship as well as meeting with a spiritual guide and an angel. All these events I have woven in the story along with the angel as it seems to be the requirement of the story.

So, seeing the huge eye, the meditation centre, walking amongst the stars and meeting a god-like figure, I am describing that along with the angel in the coming chapters.
