°No, even if i don't want to think about it, tomorrow everything could be to late, i need the informations now. Just asking, should not be suspicious or anything.°
"By the way dad, i think you never mentioned what a {Mana Heart} or a {Element Brain} is, could you explain these for me?"
"That is normal son, after all normal children can't do anything with these informations, after all can a normal person not train these arts until a specific age, humans around the age of 5-6 can beginn train either {Mana Heart} or {Element Brain}, Elven and Dwarfs around the same age, and they have the same affinity, too.
Although Elven tend to be more talented in the {Element Brain} art do to their closeness to nature and the Dwarfs more to the {Mana Heart}, because they had to rely more on their own bodys."
By now the duo got home, Arthur and Jäger then sit down by the table with the for wooden, simple chairs opposite to each other, and Arthur begins to explain:
"Basically, a Mana Heart let's you circulate Mana, a energy every living being has, through your own body, to enhance the power you can generate. Furthermore with enough practise you can infuse for a short time your Mana into objects, like arrows or throwing knifes. But that is only possible for people with a high talent in {Mana Heart} arts."
To demonstrate and verify his words, Arthur begins to channel Mana into his right arm.
In Jägers eyes the arm becomes thicker while the muscles in become more visible and finer.
"Wow, that is amazing, what does this do? How much stronger are you with this?"
Jäger asks with a child-like expression, unlike a 20 year old (in spirit) adult should act.
"I should generate now more than double my previous power. I can boost my strenght even more, but the time i can hold this status would be shorter.
Generally we beastmen only have a {Mana Heart}, because the Beasts we devoured back in time all were physically strong, and not the brightest. So we lost our affinity with the {Element Brain}.
But in return most of our kin are talented in this art and most of us can reach the highest standards in this.
Additionally we can due to our strong bodys begin earlier with the training, around when you are 4, maybe a bit younger. By then the body should be at the same level as a 6 - 7 year old human."
But then his fathers tone becomes more sharp and warning. He looks at Jäger and emphasizes the next sentences:
"But don't begin to try training the art earlier! The reason all races wait till the perfect age is that the body has to reach a certain condition, physically and mentally, to substain the stress from the training. You can begin with around four because our bodys and mind grow faster.
If you should begin to train for example tomorrow, you Mana would first fill every part of the body, burst the muscles, rush blood through the veins till they burst and kill you painfully from the inside!"
°Damn, am i glad i did not tried anything back then to get something like a headstart. I would be dead otherwise.°
"Okay dad, i will be careful to wait till the time is right. But what can you do with your {Mana Heart}, and what is this {Element Brain}?"
"The easy bonuses are stronger muscles, denser bones, higher bloodflow, sharper claws and more speed. Some Beastmen specialize on certain abilitys, and are much better in some areas as allrounders like myself.
{Element Brain} gives people the ability to `feel` the Elements around them, and the people have affinity with some special Elements. There are Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Light, Dark and very, very special cases. For example while these {Element Brains}, called Wizards by most can not directly infuse their weapons with Mana to make it sharper or more resiliant, they can heat up the blade with the fire element or make it faster by surrounding it with the wind element. Plus they can create Storms or turn the earth into spikes or walls.
Fortunate is that they can not directly influence a person, like controlling their mind or the blood. Our own Mana is unique, and every kind of foreign Mana or Element can not influence each other."
With all this knowledge Jäger asks his father:
"Are there many `Wizards`? And how strong are they compared to us? And have we a cool name like `Wizard` too?"
"Wizards are very powerful, but not all. These with low talent or low experience can barely create a high temperature flame or a puddle of water, but strong or specialized ones can beat at some range and little time {Mana Heart} art users at the same or lightly higher level. The numbers are lower than, what we are called, Hunters or Knights.
Beastmen with {Mana Hearts} are called `Hunters`, other races who use weapons `Knights` or without `Barbarian`. If they specialize elsewhere, like killing from the shadows fast and precise, are `Assassins` and many more. there are categorys to differate between the abilitys of the same class, reaching from Rank G to Rank SSS. by the way, I am by the human standard Rank C, a bit over a trained adult Human. For my age that is very powerful, if i may praise myself, harharhar!"
A lot of things are swirling around in Jägers head.
°Wow, so there are Wizards and Knights and all the other stuff too. I wonder what Rank i could gain in the future, when even my father, one of the strongest here in our village, is Rank C .°
"How do you know all of this dad? Did you not hide all the time like all of us? Where did you get these informations?"
This is a question that is burning Jäger since Arthur started his explanation. He can not just go to a village and ask, he would be pursued immediatly.
With a sour smile, Arthur answered:
"I once went to a Human settlement north from here, named Trasnahr. I wanted to see if Humans really despise us as told, and what should i say, they were right. Not only was i chased out, but they tried to capture or kill me. And when i fled into the woods, i came across a wounded human.
Although I did not want to have anything to do with this race anymore, I saw he was not threatening at all, even awfully weak.
So i took him with me in a old bear cave and helped him recouver, while i patched up myself. during our rehabilitation he told me storys and infos about different races. I was really surprised how he accepted me despite me being a Beastmen."
"So there are friendly Humans out there too?" Jäger asks with his child like apperance.
"I'm sure there are some. Maybe the minority, but there are kind and caring Humans out there, between all the scum."
Then Arthur stand up from his seat, stretched his big body and says:
"Let's have a look at the things you can use as a Weapon. We should have two or three things for you to use with the little hands. Want to survive your first adventure after all, ha?"
"Sure thing dad, show me what we have. I'm expect some cool stuff."
"Haha, maybe not so great as you think, I don't have the materials or knowledge to maintain most of the weapons, so their shape can be pretty bad."
As he said that, both of them went out of their hut and go to a little shack behinde their home.
Arthur opened a simple lock without a key, only high enough so kids can't open it.
"Here they are, look around my little arsenal and choose, tomorrow it gets real, so doublecheck your decision."
Now, before Jäger, there are some weapons for him to choose.
°Let's have a look, what can I use without any training and is still in a good condition?°
