Leo looked for Fahima into the employee break room and asked everyone, but no one saw the girl in the hijab. The handsome and tall man ran into the parking lot and he didn't see Imah's motorbike. Leo's cell phone rings. The white hand took the device from the jacket pocket. He saw Fahima's name appeared.
"Fahima, where are you?" Leo asked answering the call in a worried tone.
"Greetings, Mister Leo." Fahima laughed.
"I'm sorry, assalamualaikum and don't call me sir when I'm not at the hotel!" Leo sat in the front of his car.
"Waalaikumussalam." Fahima smiled.
"Where are you?" Leo repeated his question.
"Sorry, I just went home, you don't need to give me my salary for today," said Fahima.
"What happened?" Leo asked again.
"It's okay, can we meet?" Fahima asked slowly.
"Of course, are you at home?" Leo asked.
"No, I'm on the beach next to the Paraday hotel," replied Fahima.
"Wait for me there." Leo turned off his cell phone and got into the car, he didn't know Michael was watching him from a nearby location so that the man could listen to all the conversations on the cellphone.
"Hmm, it seems that woman is too special for Leo. Are they a couple?" Michael smiled.
"I should have brought my own car." The man desperately wanted to follow Leo.
Leo's white car pulled out of the Paraday hotel area and headed for the Mountain Beach which is next to the hotel where he works. Leo drove the car slowly so he could see Fahima. The man smiled, a girl in a pink robe standing on the beach with a black backpack and a long hijab waving in the wind.
Leo parked his car and quickly ran towards Fahima, he was very happy to meet the woman alone. There were many men who hoped to be the partner of this beautiful and veiled woman, but all of them had been rejected.
"The beach is still quiet." Leo stood beside Fahima.
"Because it's still early. Thank you for coming." Fahima smiled.
"We were schoolmates from long ago and until now, I will always be there for you." Leo tilted his head to see Fahima's beautiful face.
"Thank you." Fahima turned and their faces almost collided.
"Hah." Fahima backed off spontaneously.
"Sorry." Leo turned his face away. He couldn't resist her charm anymore.
"Can I still work a week there?" Fahima asked sitting on the sand.
"You can work as long as you like." Leo sat beside Fahima.
"Next week I will go to Serang," said Fahima.
"Why did you go to Serang? What is the teacher's job?" Leo asked.
"Yes." Fahima smiled.
"This is your first time going outside of Bangka, and your first time on an airplane. Are you afraid?" Leo asked softly.
"I'm not afraid, Allah will always take care of me." Fahima turned to Leo. The brown ball glittered with the beauty of the veiled woman.
"Then, why do you look doubtful? Do you want me to accompany you?" Leo smiled not wanting to take his eyes off Fahima's beautiful face.
"I don't want to bother you, but it would still be troublesome." Fahima looked down.
"Say it!" Leo noticed Fahima's thick eyelashes and thick eyebrows.
"I'm thinking about mama and grandma, actually I need your help." Fahima turned and Leo immediately averted his gaze.
"Just tell me, I'll help as much as I can." Leo looked back at the beautiful face gently.
"I will be away for two months and my salary will be used for my life there." Fahima's voice grew weaker.
"Hey, I don't like seeing you hesitate." Leo raised his hand to caress the head covered by the hijab but he didn't because Fahima wouldn't like it.
"Can I borrow money to cover the needs of mom and grandma while I'm in Serang?" Fahima lifted her face and glanced at Leo, the woman would not stare at the opposite sex for long.
"Of course, how much do you need?" Leo asked and smiled, he was very happy that Fahima asked him for help.
"Thank you." Fahima smiled, she could go to Serang in peace.
"Can I ask you something?" Leo asked.
"Yes." Fahima's beautiful eyes stared straight at the open sea with calm waves.
"What happened in the guest room today?" Leo asked quietly.
"Why? Is that man angry?" Fahima looked at Leo and looked away again.
"He wants to meet you." Leo was very curious about what happened in Michael's room.
"Why would he want to meet me?" Fahima asked worriedly.
"It's fine, but tell me what happened?" Leo smiled forcing Fahima to tell a story.
"Oooh, this is so embarrassing." Fahima tucked her face into her bent knee.
"Did you do something wrong?" Leo asked.
"Hah, that man sleeps naked," replied Fahima with a face that was still hiding.
"What?' Leo burst out laughing.
"It is not funny." Fahima glared at Leo and looked back at the sea.
"Unfortunately, this woman's sacred eye has been tarnished." Leo kept laughing.
"Is there anything else?" Leo asked again.
"I wrapped the man's body in a blanket like a baby so he couldn't move, then I left, that's all," explained Fahima.
"If that's all, why would he want to meet you?" Leo thought.
"Maybe he's mad that I wrapped him up." Fahima smiled.
"Hmm, Michael won't really care about small and trivial things. It was also an accident." Leo looked at his watch.
"Are you back at the hotel?" asked Fahima.
"No, I don't want to be asked about you." Leo smiled.
"Let's go for a walk by the beach." Fahima got up from the sand.
"Come on." Leo smiled, not much chance to be with that woman.
"How much do you need?" Leo asked touching the end of Fahima's hijab without the woman knowing.
"I haven't counted it yet." Fahima turned and Leo removed his hand from the woman's hijab.
"You still have a week." Leo smiled.
"Yes thank you." Fahima smiled back.
When the time for noon arrived, Fahima went home and Leo returned to the hotel. They parted right in front of the gates of the Paraday Hotel. The man knew Michael was having a meeting with a business associate, at least for the day he wouldn't be meeting the big boss who bosses everyone around.
Fahima arrived home on her motorbike, she immediately cleaned up and performed the noon prayer, tidying up her suitcase and equipment that she would bring to Serang. If it wasn't for a better future, he would not want to leave Bangka, leaving his mother and grandmother.
"Imah, are you not working?" asked mom softly.
"Today I just went to meet Leo." Fahima smiled.
"Did mom and grandma have lunch?" Fahima asked and got up from the floor.
"Let's eat together." Mama pulled Fahima's hand.
"How is grandma?" Fahima stopped her footsteps and looked at Grandma's room.
"Grandma is sleeping." Mom smiled. The woman did not want to make her daughter hesitate to go to Serang.
"Hmm." Fahima stepped into a simple kitchen that was integrated with a wooden table and chairs as a dining room.
"Your grandmother must be treated immediately." Mama glanced at Fahima who was enjoying a simple meal, because they had to be frugal. Time passed so fast, Fahima was already on the bed, she tried to close her eyes but the image of Michael's naked body disturbed her.
"Astaqfirullah, O Allah, erase my memory of this day." Fahima transfers her imagination with other memories and tries to forget the foreign man she doesn't know.
Fahima manages to fall asleep, dreams about the past reappear, memories from when she was in school, Fahima is a popular girl so many young people like and admire her. A young man of Chinese descent expressed love but was rejected by the hijab girl.
The refusal made the young man who was Fahima's classmate angry, so he grabbed Fahima's hand, forced a kiss on the cheek and hugged the body. The experience became a nightmare for Fahima, making her hate men of Chinese descent. In his eyes they are people who do not know the rules and do not respect their religion.
"Why do those old memories come back?" Fahima's beautiful eyes opened, faintly heard Azan's voice. He quickly got out of the old and rusty bed and walked to the bathroom to clean himself and carry out God's commands.
"I have trouble sleeping so I don't wake up at tahajjud." Fahima took the Koran and read it in a soft voice, chanting holy verses filled the old house.
The lady did the morning routine to prepare everything perfectly for her grandmother and mother. Tears streamed down her pretty face as she finished all her work. He had to perdi for two months and left the two women he loved.
"Mom, let's eat." Fahima grabbed her mother's hand.
"Why are you sad, remember you have to pass." Mama rubbed Fahima's head.
"Imah, definitely pass." Fahima smiled broadly and enjoyed her breakfast to the end.
