I hate it when people play dumb

The next morning when I woke up, he was nowhere to be found which I was glad about because his face was the last thing I wanted to see right now.

Though, due to the fact that it was already dark last night and the lights that were on in the room were dim, I didn't get to see his face clearly.

"Oh well, I guess that's for the best. This way, I won't remember you at all or I might just remember you as a faceless annoying dude I had to sleep in the same room with".

"Who are you talking to".

"Ahhhh". As soon I heard that voice, I was so startled that I fell off the bed.

'No no no I thought he was gone, what is he still doing here'. From the cornered side of my bed, I raised my head just a little so my eyes could show, and there he was, the man was actually wearing a towel only a towel. I immediately bent my head back and shrank to the corner of my bed.

'How can one person be so shameless, does he think he is alone in this room or something'.

"If you are done, I believe it's time for you to prepare so we can leave".

'Huh is he drunk?' I stood abruptly and saw him buttoning his shirt so I asked "What are you talking about? I didn't come with you, so what makes you think I'd want to leave with you?"

He stopped and looked at me for a few seconds then he started coming closer. When he got close enough, he looked me straight in the eye, and to be honest, my heart skipped a beat.

"I hate it when people play dumb".

'Hold up, is this guy a psychopath or something?'

"I'm not going anywhere with you so leave".

He looked at me again and this time it was obvious he was really irritated but I have no idea why.

"Then are you planning to return the money?"

'Wait how did he know about the money'.

"How....." "Or would you like it if I told them you took the money without obliging?"

"No no no don't do that ehm.....I'll follow you but what do you want?"

He didn't bother answering me. He just walked towards the door and the next thing I heard was "I'm giving you five minutes to get ready and meet me in the parking lot. I won't wait a minute longer".

He closed the door and just like that, he was gone. "Waaa so much for a peaceful life," I said and scattered my hair while making crazy sounds in frustration. Then I looked up "oh I almost forgot, 5 minutes".

I hurriedly went over to the parking lot but I didn't see him instead, I meant another man who approached me. "Good day miss, my boss had to leave for an important meeting but he asked me to take you to the house so you can wait there".

I kept looking at him like I was lost in a trance. 'Waaa I guess they were right, City C is definitely filled with good things and handsome men' I kept smiling like an idiot till I heard him call me.

"Miss, I apologize, it seems you were in deep thoughts. If you are done, it would be nice if we left now".

We got into the car and left. 'Stupid stupid stupid, how can you keep looking at a man like that when you don't even know what kind of mess you've gotten yourself into. You are definitely impressive definitely'.

I peeped to look at him from the back seat and immediately averted my eyes. After a few minutes, 20-30 minutes he said, "Miss, we are here". When he said that I finally raised my head and the sight that met my gaze was a sight to behold. It was astonishingly beautiful. The large white walls with beautiful leaves growing on them, at one glance, one could tell that those plants were placed there deliberately though they looked so natural. The gate was painted in gold like royalty.

When the large gate opened up, I didn't see any buildings, all I saw was a partway which had beautiful green trees by the side and when we moved further, I noticed there was a beautiful waterfall. It almost looked like it had been placed there since the beginning of time.

I kept looking in awe till the vehicle went down a pretty sloppy lane and the big mansion came to view it was unlike anything I had ever seen.

Though I was pretty rich in my past life and I had all I wanted, this type of wealth was just on a whole other level.

"Ehm excuse me, what is your name?"

The man who was driving looked at me through the rearview and said "Li Wei".

"Li Wei, where are we?" he smiled and answered, "We are at your new home miss".

I had no idea what he was talking about and he never gave me detailed answers so I decided not to ask him any other thing.

When we got to the parking lot of the mansion, my mouth opened up once again when the cars came into sight. This was definitely not the kind of wealth only one person should have.

Li Wei opened the door for me and I stepped out but didn't move an inch.

"Miss please follow me". I did as he said and he led me to the front door which was extremely long and beautiful it was a shiny white and gold door.

When we entered, the place was awfully quiet as though no one else was in the house except us.

"Miss please wait here for a minute". I nodded and he left. I began looking around and at that moment I concluded, it's either the owner of this house is really neat or, he is obsessed with white.

"I see you arrived safely, shall we go through the contract now?"
