Coming of Age Ceremony [1]

The Ling family was very lively today. It was the yearly coming of age ceremony for the younger generation. It was an important event that influenced one's future standing in the family, and the amount of monthly resources depended on their performance.

Since it was a big event, various influential families also sent representatives and even the City Lord came to witness. The test began as a set of scrolls were distributed to the three. One was the question and the other for writing. Ling Chen glanced over the questions. They were mostly related to tactics in business and to give some ideas for improving businesses. To someone like him who had come from Earth where business was thriving, the businesses tactics in Shengyang City were like child's play.

Within a few breaths he had finished and rolled up the scrolls. He then passed it to the old man sitting in the room, who was the Fifth Elder who was in charge of education in the Ling Family. The Elder was shocked a bit to see him leave early, but took his scroll nevertheless. Ling Mu snorted in a disdainful manner at his early leave, while Ling Mei blinked her eyes.

Ling Chen never paid them any heed and went out to sit by Ling Xue's side. Many people started mocking him for leaving early, saying things like 'trash' and 'shame'. He even heard 'bastard child' among the curses. He did not care what others thought of his actions as he looked forward to their reactions later.

Similarly, Ling Xue was also calm. Yesterday, after the intense fucking session, she had went to his courtyard where he explained his many businesses already being run and the proposal of a new business. She was scared silly at his monstrous talent in business and was excited to see what he would do.

So had already passed the business proposal in secret to her father last night, and he too was shocked by Ling Chen's plans. Ling Xue just looked at the mocking people with a smirk on her face, looking forward to them swallowing their words afterwards.
