That night, the event was a success even though Gian hadn't managed to hit the target. The buffs given by the system ran out at the right time. Erica assured that she could get Lux Osiris' fans to 1000 people as targeted.
"I'm really counting on you, Erica. Call me if you run into any problems," Lux said as they had to part ways because he had promised to return home with Zoc and Bon.
"I would also like to thank you. I never expected to be doing interesting things like this. I could say, this job is suits me," replied Erica whose statement was heard by Leon and Rona.
However, the two people chose to remain silent as if thinking about something. Mandy, who was exhausted, was already fast asleep on the car seat.
"Sorry for troubling Mandy today," Lux said unpleasantly, but Erica shook her head.
"I have never seen Granny so happy. She's really enjoying herself today, Young master. Take care of yourself. I will call you," Erica said as she left Lux, who was still standing, waving to the young lady.
His gaze then shifted to the two people who had entered the car, ready to leave. Lux approached Rona's car where she was already sitting on the driving seat.
"Goodbye, Miss Rona. Call me when it's time to make a presentation before Mr. Arco," said Lux to which the beautiful woman nodded.
"Bye, Lux," said Rona then left a peck on the right cheek of the mayor's son. Gian was stunned, but could only stay silent and returned it with a smile.
'It's a good thing it wasn't my first kiss that was taken away by her. Uh, wait. Lux... is he still a virgin?' Gian asked curiously.
Lux smiled and waved as Leon's car passed by. 'The man really only talked as much as he needed to. That's good,' Gian thought of the deputy director of the Emerald Group who was known to be fierce.
"Young master Lux," called Bon as he opened the car door.
Lux drove away leaving his fans who had accompanied him to the mall lobby. The handsome man waved his hand which made the Luxiuz scream hysterically.
"It turns out... this is what it feels like. It's really like a dream come true," Lux said with a smile as he saw his fans still lingering outside the mall, even though the car was already moving.
Bon and Zoc looked at each other in silence. There was nothing to talk about during the ride. Lux seemed to be busy with his mobile phone. Gian, who had been curious about the video Erica had sent to his mobile, was also stunned when he saw her performance.
"Wow! I sound like Adam Noah Levine! That's so cool!" squealed Gian, amazed at his own performance.
Zoc and Bon's foreheads furrowed, but the two big men were still listening.
"I'm really good-looking. I never thought I'd have such a nice body. I'm really lucky," Gian said, his eyes still fixed on Lux's fascinating body.
Gian repeated his solo performance like he was never tired of it. It was like watching someone else, but a sense of pride enveloped his heart. The blue-eyed man's smile did not fade even until they arrived at Osiris' residence.
"Young master," called Bon to which Lux nodded.
When Lux was about to get out of the car, he stared at his father's two bodyguards intently. "What I said while in the car, you don't need to tell father. If he ever asks me about it, don't expect you to be able to catch me again. I'll pay a thousand men to keep you from touching me. I'm serious," Lux said firmly then stepped into the house.
"Young master!" called Yoga who welcomed Lux and his men.
"Hello, Yoga. I'm sorry for the panic I caused you with my escape," Lux said, and the bespectacled man smiled back.
"Honestly, Young master. Your behavior yesterday worried Mr. Maximo. He was worried that you might have been hurt," Yoga said, which made Gian shut up. For some reason, anything to do with Maximo made him think of his father, Marcos Everest.
"Is he home?" asked Lux with a straight face.
"Yes, Young master."
"I will see him tomorrow morning. It's already late. Father should understand if his son is tired and wants to rest," Lux said as he climbed the stairs.
Yoga who followed Lux behind nodded slowly. "I will tell him. Good night, Young master Lux."
"Good night."
Tedo, Rowi, Marbella, Bon and Zoc could only remain silent. They knew their limits as subordinates. That night, no one disturbed Lux Osiris. However, Z's warning kept Gian busy with Lux's ritual before going to sleep.
[Congratulations, Gian. You succeeded in doing Lux Osiris' routine before going to bed]
"Hem, I'm getting used to it," he replied as he lay down on the bed. "Ah, it's so comfortable."
[You have worked hard today. The system judged your performance as quite good and improved. You gave a positive impression to the people, whether they are familiar with Lux Osiris or not].
"Today was very pleasant, Z. Tired, but... I'm happy. I had imagined doing something like this before, although it wasn't exactly the same, but my wish came true. I'm very happy," he replied with a smile and closed his eyes.
[Good night, Gian]
"Good night, Z."
Gian, who felt tired from doing so many things during the day, slept quickly. When Gian was enjoying his solitude even though there were no dreams coming his way, the sound of footsteps disturbed his sleep. A sound like paper being shuffled, making his eyes open instantly. His consciousness seemed to gather so quickly and immediately turned his head when he realized there was movement on his right side.
"Hem, your response is still fast as usual. Physically, nothing has changed about you, Lux. But, your behavior is not like the Lux I know. Who are you really?" asked Maximo as he looked at Luxiuz's flyer that Gian didn't know where he got it from.
"You don't know me well enough, Father," replied Gian firmly who immediately sat down.
'He suspects me, it's bad!' Gian's heart squealed even though his face was flat.
"The song you sang last night, was it directed at me?"
Gian turned his head to look at Maximo's face, which was flat as he read the contents of the flyer.
"Where did you get that? I don't even have it," Lux asked irritably. Maximo's sudden presence put him in a bad mood on a sunny day.
"Have the 1000 fans you promised at the banquet really been gathered? If so, why are you doing such an annoying thing?"
"At least I'm responsible for my words," he replied with a sharp look in his eyes, locked on the man standing proudly beside him.
"What you did so blatantly yesterday, made the higher-ups feel like you were just bragging during the presentation just to impress them. Do you realize how dangerous your words are? Making things up without having any facts can make you a big liar! I never taught you to lie, Lux Osiris!" shouted Maximo whose voice boomed like thunder.
Gian's heart was beating fast. Maximo's words sounded so piercing, but true. Gian silently thought about the Mayor's words. He realized his mistake. The thing he was initially proud of, turned out to be a boomerang for him. What's wrong with his way of thinking? That's what Gian is thinking right now.
"Your idea is indeed very brilliant for ordinary people who see it. However, I am a person who lived in the business world even before you were born. I can see opportunities even defects in business. You still have a lot to learn, Lux Osiris. Make sure you don't embarrass yourself when you meet Mr. Arco. He was a good friend of your grandfather," said Maximo then placed the flyer beside Lux and left.
Gian was still speechless due to Maximo's harsh words. His face was downcast with an uncertain look. Many things went through his head. Piecing together the past events with the current events, making his mind chaotic. He felt his body being pushed forcefully, causing him to fall down. He was crushed by a large rock on his back, making it difficult to breathe.
"He's right. I was... reckless," Lux said softly with a gasp.
Gian who was thinking about his actions, did not realize that someone had entered his room. He was still sitting on the bed with his eyes downcast in silence.
