Ch.12: Illusion

"Security measure?" I couldn't help but agree to her decision in my mind. Although I was slightly angry by such a result, I had no reason to be and it definitely proved effective. If I tried to attack this woman, it'd be useless as I have to circulate the magical energy in my body before using an attack.

If I was a body cultivator, then such a form of security wouldn't prove dangerous to me at all. Since body cultivators focus only on tempering their body, then they'll probably only feel a slight tingling sensation on their skin if they just broke through a stage or realm.

"What do you want me to do?" I questioned. By the looks of the garden, there didn't seem to be anything for me to do. The plants looked alive and well as well as the grass on the ground, the grass itself started to turn a light blue.

"It may seem like all is well, but this place is dying." The woman said in a bitter tone. She started walking through the plants, completely disregarding them as if they were useless to her. I hesitantly decided to follow her lead, although I was afraid that the woman would be angry at me if my wheelchair touched the plants or something.

We moved deeper and deeper into the field of plants until I could feel the magical energy in the area drastically decrease.

"What happened?" I looked around and was surprised. Just a second ago the ground was filled with vibrant looking flowers, but now all I could see was shriveled up grass and what seemed to be dead plants. I quickly looked behind me and saw the same sight as well, I was confused.

"It put up an illusion fueled by my magical energy alone." The woman said. I felt as if lightning struck me when she said this. That dense amount of magical energy I felt just a second ago wasn't from the plants but from her alone? I couldn't help but wonder what realm the woman was in.

Just as the woman finished talking, I heard a yawn from next to me and turned to see Lillia waking up.

"Whe-"

"I just need you to help me with simple gardening. Dig up the ground, replace it with dirt created solely from magical energy. As for the plants, go find some around here there'll be plenty." The woman said; cutting Lillia off as she waved her hand around.

'Create dirt from magical energy? How the f-' I was perplexed as I contemplated on the words of the woman. There was no doubt that making dirt solely from magical energy would be hard for me, probably impossible, but if I want to leave this place I'll have to do it.

'Sigh…' I let out a sigh before turning around and looking in the distance at all of the dead plants. I was confused as to why the woman needed my help with her garden. Judging from the amount of magical energy she had, she could easily do such a task like making dirt from magical energy but she decided to make me do it.

I guess I'll just have to ask her after I figure out how exactly how to do this…

Meanwhile, Lillia was confused about where she was. She also noticed a beautiful looking woman standing in front of her. She looked around in confusion before noticing Killian wearing a bitter expression as he repeatedly dragged his hands across the dirt and dead plants.

'What's going on? And where exactly are we?' She thought.
