Ch 5 -Welcome Ceremony

"How amusing," the old man said in a voice almost cackling." He is a 5th tier mage but shook off the pressure emanated by your eyes as if it was not present" and an amused grin broke out on his face

"I noticed too, Grandfather," said Amanda looking towards the old man ." For some reason, I was not able to appraise him or his stats" she continued ."Hmm let's keep an eye on him, there are rumors that members of 'Darksday' have infiltrated the academy as teachers and students."

"Hmm....the no of Darksday hideouts and outposts has been increasing every day and they are getting bolder by the moment, Damn my workload is increasing even more due to them," said Amanda annoyed and agitated.

"I will cover the patrolling for you, "the old man said and proceeded to walk out of the room.

"I need to prepare a speech for the freshman too.....if it weren't for grandfather covering for me, I just might have died due to exhaustion". 'One of the 10 strongest individuals dying due to exhaustion that sure will make the headline of the newspaper's thought before starting to work again.

I gulped another pill and felt my Mana reserves rising to the max. I changed into more casual clothes and fell asleep.

I was heading for the huge training hall where the ceremony was going to be held.'Now, what should I teach for my first class I did become a teacher on a mere whim,instacasting not too complex, dual casting no it would take them at least a decade to master the basics. Ah, this would do' I thought while grinning creepily in my mind.

"Good morning, Sir Nyx" a voice broke me out of my train of thought and turned around to see a familiar boy with light brown hair and golden eyes. "Good morning, Kenji" I replied "Are all your injuries healed, sir? " he asked me in the most polite tone possible.

"Yeah pretty much"I replied"So, which class are you teaching sir?" he asked me with a curious gaze

"Ah, I am teaching 2A and 1A," I said "Wait, I am also a student of class 1a "he replied his shoulders becoming a bit stiff. 'Wait I am not so scary that you had become nervous if I become your teacher' I thought to myself 'Welp, he did notice me casting 'HellsGate' so I guess he is scared of my powers' I continued pondering unable to figure why he was so nervous.

After exchanging a few pleasantries here and there I went to the side of the stage where the teachers were sitting. I saw a familiar pink-haired girl sitting amongst the teachers talking to another female teacher, blackish-blue hair and black iris."Mr.Nyx here" Yuki said in an elated tone and patted the free seat next to her.

"Oh, I am Claire it's nice to meet you, Mr.Nyx, I am Yuki's childhood bestie," she said grinning."It is nice to meet you too Claire" I replied."Thank you, for taking care of me when I was injured Yuki" I said thanking her.

"Ah, it was no..nothing it's the least I co..could do, "Yuki said while stuttering and lowered her head. I could swear I saw her smile and blush a bit.

Just then the students started entering the room wearing blue blazers and a white shirt .'Lesser remove presence' I cast in my mind so the student who noticed me would find me boring unless someone is trying to look for me specifically. The empty seats on the ground and the first floor were almost instantly filled with students.

I suddenly felt something try to peer into my very soul. I snapped my gaze away from the stage and was surprised to see a black-haired girl with black cat ears and tail gazing at me intently. She was surprised to see that I noticed her gaze at the very least and tried to blend into the crowd in a panic but her cat ears and the looks of scorn by the nobles still made her standout.'Her mana and control is not half bad' I found myself thinking. (A/N: I know what your thinking)

'I know demihumans exist then so must elves right....right?'Unfortunately, elves are nothing but a myth a let down I believe' I thought to myself when I had realized elves were nothing but fairy tales in this world.

"Goodmorning, students and teachers I am Amanda Hunt, the principal a pleasure to meet you..." and bleh bleh. I kind of got bored and started observing the students, if any students piqued my interest. As expected the children were divided into two categories commoners and nobles.'So cliché' I found myself muttering.

'So to sum it up after the principal gave her 'wonderful speech', followed up by the student council president, Emily Lance, she had blue hair, blue iris wore luxurious clothes had an exquisite sword sheeted by her waist....errm she had snow-white skin and her ermm ... eyelids were erm... screw it she was really pretty and basically waifu material. I made a mental note to never try this again.

Today was a day off for the students to explore the campus and classes were going to officially start tomorrow
