Chapter 24: Crossroads
Gemma unlocked Kit's apartment door with her spare key, the lunch she'd had with Blaze and Fiona weighing heavy on her mind. She sighed in relief once she was inside the apartment feeling comforted by being in a familiar space.
Gemma flipped the light on in the hallway as she walked further into the apartment. She kicked off her heels, tossed her handbag on the couch, and headed straight for Kit's kitchen where the wine fridge was.
She was mulling over two different choices when she heard the lock on the front door turning.
"Honey!" Kit yelled out playfully. "I'm home."
Gemma rolled her eyes and chuckled quietly as she heard Kit make her way into the living and kitchen area. Kit snorted when she walked into the room and spotted Gemma with two wine bottles in hand.
"Of course, I find you pilfering my wine," Kit joked. "Not a good use of the spare key."
