Rise to the top

A month later... Ceto, Jade, and Ruslan became friends with each other. Ruslan becomes a trainee of Ceto to be stronger and to protect the city of blood under his codename: Espada.

12:15 pm Sunday at Ceto's roof deck house...

Jade and Ruslan are talking to each other about Ceto.

"Is he like that? He always staring at the sky" Ruslan feels odd about what Ceto's typically did during lunch break especially when they are at the school.

"Yeah... He was always like that... maybe he was just thinking about his parents... we don't know" Jade said.

"Parents? Oh... I see... you two were friends after all. So knowing about his parents is just a normal thing."

"Actually... I don't have any idea about his family. Ceto is living with his foster parents. But his real family? No... I don't know about them."

"Wait... you mean he didn't tell you about his real parents even you two know each other for a long time? That's weird. I think we should ask him about it." Ruslan said and walks toward Ceto to ask him about his real family. But Jade pulls him back.

"I already ask him about it. But he didn't say anything. So I think it is better not to ask him again" Jade staring at Ceto with a smile on her face.

"So I think we should let him be what he wanted to be and I also think that it is way better to continue your training than being a gossipy"

Tuesday after class...

Ceto, Jade, and Ruslan are walking together when a mysterious guy is watching them.

Ceto stops walking in the meantime when he felt that someone is looking after them.

"Hey is there any problem?" Ruslan asks Ceto while having a great smile because of their happy talks.

"I forgot my notes under my table. I have to come back to school. Don't wait for me" Ceto runs to come back to the school while waving his hand to Jade and Ruslan.

Ceto went back to school and go to the rooftop when he saw a familiar person.

"It's been a long time since we last met. My dear son. How's your day?"

The mysterious guy is known as the God of assassins. He is Victor Argo the king of Manticore which is known as the city of immortals, father of Ceto, and second richest man in the world.

"Father? Is that you? How'd you know that I'm in this place?" Ceto was shocked when he saw his father in the city of blood.

"If I were you... I'll never get any doubt about it. Never underestimate your old man"

Victor walks to Ceto and touches his shoulder while laughing.

Ceto is not mad too happily. The main reason why he leaves Manticore is that he never wants to be the heir and be the next king of Manticore.

"Don't you want to become a king in our city?" Victor asks Ceto and tries to convince him.

"No... I don't... I just want a normal life. I live for my own and I don't want to become a king tho. I knew that I was born with extraordinary talent in combat. But then again... I'm so sorry father, but I just don't like to be the next king to you" Ceto answers his father's question with a full of confidence.

"But you are not having a normal life in this place. You've fought so many assassins here just to save others" Victor tries to convince Ceto for the last time.

"I fought them to make a peace in this city and saving peoples lives is one of need to make a peace" Ceto explain his thoughts to his father

"Okay, I surrender... before I leave... I want you to promise me that you will protect your friends and other people who need a savior. Time will also come that you will meet an enemy who is far stronger than anybody that even you will get a very hard fight against it. So I want you to become stronger. Be the strongest not just here but also in other continents or even in the world." Victor said it to Ceto and walks away.

While Victor is walking away. Ceto shout at him with a promising smile.

"I will make sure that I will be the strongest person. The strongest person who protects not the strongest person who rules the weak people. I will rise to the top that even my father will get a taste of defeat against me"

Victor smiles while entering the car and leaves the place.
