PROOF

As Jake started his walk away from them, Kaiden felt a pang in his heart. It was excruciatingly painful, the things he thought about. And maybe, just maybe Jake was no longer half as interested in him as he once was.

The redhead disappeared into the crowd in no time and once he did that, Kai did nothing, but stand in awe of the boy's behaviour— the reaction he had anticipated out of Jake hadn't been how the situation had panned out. And while he had been upset about Vanessa's sudden entry, she did try to redeem herself after all… what's more? She brought PROOF. Proof that Jake had specifically mentioned some rare minutes ago. Imagine how funny it got when Jake's attitude overrode his initial demands for a proof(he got), but one he wasn't willing to accept.

"Hey, he's going to come around okay?" said Vanessa. She planted her hand atop his shoulder.

Kaiden exhaled. "What makes you so sure of it? His mind is made up from what I see."
