Pacify

At the Hamburr residence, Jake was inconsolable.

Caroline wept, "Pull yourself together, honey. He… is still alive. Somewhere."

"Listen to mother, please," Oliver said next. "Just because we haven't heard any news yet doesn't mean you should already lose all hope of ever seeing him again."

And he was right. Jake agreed. But it was already the next day, and some minutes past noon already. Why did it seem like every second passing by was one less chance he had to be with his lover or even get the chance he needed to properly apologise for all he'd had to endure because of him?
