THE THING ABOUT LIFE! ED

"The second wonder of the world is life... If all these people were living the life they wanted, they wouldn't be here... they wouldn't be sick, nor starving, nor will they be homeless... These people all had dreams but unfortunately life happened. And the thing about life is that you are not always going to have things go your way. Sometimes you win while other times you lose.

You and I are living and walking because we are alive and well, you are happy because you are probably living the life, you always wanted to live... I am here because I am struggling to live the life I have always dreamt of... life is the power source wire that holds everything together. We can see all the other beautiful things of life, only because we are alive." She placed her hand on his chest and felt the beating of his heart... it was beating really fast. She looked into his eyes and met with his piercing gaze.

"A man like you is alive... it's one of the mysteries of life" she smiled widely showing him her perfect set of dentine. Although she was smiling she looked unsure of the answer she gave him. Alba could see through her uncertainties and he thought she was cute even in her confused state. He flashed her a charming smile';

"Alright!" Alba looked at her puzzled. He was trying to figure her out, but she was not his everyday play girl. He became really interested in her, more and more. She felt to him like a puzzle he wanted to figure out. Mahina is a girl like non other he thought. Mahina held his hands once again, like a mother leading her child. They drove away from the slumps and she took him, to her favorite instrumental store and studios. They entered one of the instrumental sound proof rooms and she made him sit on a chair. While she made herself comfortably seated on the piano seat, she brushed her fingers on the piano keys while talking to him;

"I can tell you a hundred reasons why I believe music is one of the wonders of the world, but it's left for you to judge whether you believe it to be or not." Mahina played the instrument as she sang a song by Chritina Perri so beautifully;

"Heart beats fast,

Colors and promises

How to be brave,

How can I love when I am afraid to fall..."?

He held his breath...Alba couldn't take his eyes off her. She was a mystery and he was thrilled by her? Her voice was piercing he couldn't explain it. For the first time in years as he was still listening to her his heart was thumping fast against his rib cage. He looked down at his chest and placed his hand on it and closed his eyes as he felt his heart beating really fast.

Mahina pressed the last key on the piano and raised her eyes to look at Alba. As her eyes met with his she became shy of his dark smoldering stare on her.

"Next up is the fourth wonder of the world... I am sure you know it all too well, but I still have to show you...don't I? so come along" again she held his hands and led him away. Each time she held his hands, Alba couldn't just explain, the warm feeling in his chest. He felt that he wasn't alone anymore. He felt wanted by her touch every time she held his hand. People don't touch Alba as they please, but this girl sparked something he just couldn't describe. As they were approaching their next destination, Mahina said to him:

"close your eyes" Alba smiled and said:

"As you wish..."

Mahina blindfolded him and took him by the hand to her favorite eatery. Alba could tell it was an eatery from the aroma in the environ. He smirked and thought to himself: 'Little miss silky didn't just bring me to an eatery did she?... unbelievable don't tell me she considers food as one of the wonders of the world' She made him sit carefully and took off his blind fold.

Alba had a smile on his face, as he found all of Mahina's actions endearing. It was a simple modest eatery Alba noted from scanning the place. She ordered for different varieties of meals and when they were served she said:

"I am certainly sure you don't think food is one of the wonders of the world when you have it at your convenience. And I am sure you have never stayed hungry for a whole day... or have you? If you have you will understand what I am saying. Food brings people together. It strengthens the bond between people. To me its not just a necessity but a wonder"

Even in his presence, she was still herself, never changing and that made Alba curious what kind of lady she was. With each unique behavior she displayed, Alba wanted to know her more, he wanted to explore her. To break down all her walls of defense and to conquer her. She was a goal and he wanted her badly. Alba felt defeated that she didn't care what he thinks of her, she was just herself. She trusts in her own heart despite, obviously being treated harshly by life. Alba just kept staring at her unmoving with a dominating smile on his face.

After their Meal. Mahina convinced him to buy takeaway's, saying they will need it for the next place they will be going to. Alba concurred. After taking their food order they left. They arrived at God's Glory Orphanage. She held his hands to lead him inside, but Alba quickly freed his hands from her grip';

"I don't like kids..." Mahina was speechless by his actions. She looked at him perplexed.

"They don't bite!" she tried to assure him

"Yeah! They are little monsters" he was convinced that kids were little monsters and she was running out of ideas how to convince him. the kids caught sight of Mahina by the gate and ran to meet her yelling';

"It's princess! It's princess!" they all shouted. Mahina smiled at them and waved. Alba was caught in the middle. He was confused. He fixed his hands in his pockets and watched with a straight face as the kids dragged Mahina, who in turn dragged him alongside her to the orphanage as well. Mahina carried a little girl in her arms and landed her a peck on the cheeks. The little girl in turn landed Mahina a peck on the cheeks. The little girl opened her arms for Alba to carry her, he was hesitant but Mahina didn't waste time she handed the little girl to him. The little girl wrapped her arms around Alba's neck and hugged him tightly. She landed him a peck as well. Alba didn't know how to react, so he mimicked Mahina and pecked the little girl as well. The little girl curiously asked';

"Mahina? Are you getting married" Mahina chocked on the water she was drinking and answered hurriedly';

"Oh no dear, I am not..." before she could complete her sentence Alba answered

"She will soon be!"

"Yay!" The little girl dropped from his arms and went to tell the other children. The other kids cheered at the news. Mahina glared at Alba. she didn't know how to react towards her said to be boss.

"Why did you do that?" she asked and he simply smiled sarcastically, as he drew her closer to him with his hands placed on her waist.

"It felt right!"
