Mental Fortitude

I yelled out, "You've mind controlled these people, haven't you?" I looked to him waiting for his reaction but to my surprise he just laughed, "You're right, and now that you know my secret you can help keep it." He pulled out what seemed to be a stop watch and proceeded to swing it back and forth, my eyes were drawn to it and I slowly felt my eyes shut.

When my eyes were fully closed I could no longer feel my body, I tried moving but it was no use, his hypnosis had taken effect and I was now his pawn. The least I could do was stop my mind from submitting, so I kept contesting his will in my mind until I could see light again.

He was fallen on the ground panting in exhaustion, mind control took a lot of stamina to maintain and since I kept mentally resisting his stamina kept draining. He got up and began to hypnotize me again, but this time I was ready. As I drifted into darkness again I kept my mind focused on resisting and sure enough the result was the same. I did this over and over until;

Skill Acquired: Mental Barrier

I had unlocked a new skill from braving through mind control continuously and now I unlocked a mental fortitude skill. He got back up and tried one more time but this time I didn't close my eyes, my skill negated his mind control and I no longer had to resist. I charged at him and threw a hook at his head, but a guard intercepted me.

His head was flew straight off from the punch and I began to dispatch the rest of them. Then finally only the Mind Controller was left, I jumped and flew at him with a flying kick. It connected and he was sent flying into the wall, then I picked up his flag and began to sprint back to Chungmuro Station.

When I arrived back I fused the flags and our Red Flag became Black. A system notification appeared;

You have been chosen to follow the King's Road, You can choose a new attribute;

The King's Road? Maybe being a representative wasn't so bad, I looked through the options and chose the one that I felt aligned with me the most;

This attribute aligns well with my strategic thinking and gaming prowess, it was perfect.

While sitting and thinking of what to do

with my new found monetary gains, Pildu walked up to me with a confident grin. "So Yoo Joonghyuk, while we're grateful for your contributions to the group, we would like you to step down now."

I looked at him with a confused look, and then he showed me his attributes, in it was the King of Gold and Greed attribute, this must've gave him the confidence boost he needed to confront me. "Seeing as I clearly have the qualities to rule I would like you to be my faithful servant for all eternity, what do you say?"

Eternity? No thanks, I got up and and showed Pildu my attribute list as well;
