2. Serenity

SERENITY'S POV

A slightly familiar unpleasant smell was invading my sense of smell through my deep slumber. It was strangely disturbing.

The unpleasant smell made my nose twitch, it was peppering my throat and raised an alarm in my veins and mind. My ears twitched at the incoming danger I was sensing.

My bones tensed up again, my joint exerting stress on themselves. My body had just been starting to relax in my soft bed after I changed back into my human form, after my first shift into a werewolf.

It was an excruciating painful experience just as I've been told. It left me feeling extremely tired and sore and dizzy, my bones barking for rest and massage.

I settled to bed early instead, planning to get a massage first thing tomorrow morning as soon as I woke up. Being an Alpha's daughter gets me the privilege and luxury at my fingertips.

The luxury also include having to always wear a dress, not being allowed to shift, secluded from the rest of the pack and not being allowed to train because of my own so called protection. Scoff.

Much to my hesitant and triedness, I forced my mind to awaken, fighting harder to try to regain my senses of consciousness. I rubbed circles over my closed eyelids as I managed to move my stoic body to a seating position and to rest my aching back against the bed board coated with a soft cushion.

"Fire!. Fire! Fire!" my sleep deprived brain was screaming as soon as I could think well.

Fire?. Fire where?. I gathered myself and tried to contact my wolf but I couldn't, I've only just shifted ones a couple of hours ago so I didn't know how this stuffs works. I felt nothing within.

I wanted to go and investigate the fire my senses were telling me by myself.

I puffed out a mouthful of my blonde hair out of my mouth, then smoothened my long gorgeous thick mane of golden blonde hair away from my face and down my back.

An Alpha daughter should never be caught looking disheveled. When I was satisfied with the outcome and the wavy strands falling over my back, I shuffled the thick white duvet from my body.

My white silk nightdress hugged my breast tightly making me roll my eyes, those guards would almost fall over air when they see me like this. But I just can't help being this hot. I straighten the silk material a little bit before making my way out of bed.

The floorboard let out a tiny squeak as my weight stood on top of it. That's weird, I didn't have any loose floorboard.

I steadied myself on my right leg and stretched out my aching bones, my white silk nightdress raised up to my mid thigh exposing more of my pale skin.

"Serenity, are you awake?."

I leaped two feet into the air in fright as the door opening and the simultaneous popping in of a head startled me out of my pale skin.

I gasped, "Madison!" I took a deep breath to calm my heartbeat that has suddenly flew to an unusual beat.

My most trusted servant of a couple of months grinned at me, "I'm so sorry Serenity. I didn't mean to scare you" she slid her body into the room completely and closed the door behind her.

As always, she was clad in a black and white maid outfit of black skirt with a white napkin tied around it and a white shirt with a black armless sweater vest. A black cap was worn over her bald head.

"We both know you don't mean that" I sneered.

She stared into my eyes, her black eyes scanning my face before she snickered. I found myself snickering too until we both burst into laughter.

Madison had only been accepted into the pack house a few months ago but she was far yet the one I trusted the most and my best friend.

"Why are awake?" She asked still standing close to the door.

"I couldn't sleep" I lied through my teeth.

She seemed eager and happy as she rushed over her words, "Why?. First shift glitters?. Do you want to shift again?. I'll cover for you."

I groaned, the way she somehow managed to convince me to shift into my wolf still surprised me. Ever since I could understand alphabets I've been told warned to never ever let my wolf out. Never!.

My father and step mother rang it in my head every single day. They always dismissed me whenever I asked them the reason for it and their replies remain the same, "When you're of age, the answer will be provided."

What age?. I'm 20 for goodness sake, even my little brother has shifted. But I didn't always push them for an answer because whenever I did they got angry, so I came to accept it that way..

But Madison, she came into the pack after a patrol wolf saved her across the broader when she was being chased by 'witches' she had claimed.

She told us the story of how witches attacked her family and kidnapped her, they shaved her hair to make spells and how she escaped.

My father, Alpha Enzo, out of his own kindness accepted into the pack and made her a servant. I think father is too kind for his own good but she turned out to be extremely nice and helpful and she found her way into my heart.

Now I told her everything!. Everything!. Every single pack secret I even swore to my father to never spill. I told her how I'm not really the Alpha daughter
