This Isn't Canon! (Or that time I reincarnated into an AU-Naruto)

When one reincarnates into the protagonist there are often two reactions. Glee or overwhelming terror. For her? There was not one shred of fear. After all, of all the Shonen protagonists, there was one above all that could so easily become broken in their setting with just a little effort. Sadly, it appears as if that Golden Thing that she had surprised had already thought of that, and so much more...

Chapter Title Redacted

In the following days, she didn't observe any of the classes, besides attending 4 separate Taijutsu sessions on the 2nd and 3rd day. The first day, of course, she spent...

-Flashback-

'FUCK YOU HIRUZENNNNN' Flipping through scroll after scroll as she tried to hurriedly memorize the name of every student and every sensei. It. Was. Hell.

Using her chakra that the original her had given an obscene amount of, she'd pop off four clones to help her. "YOU!" She hissed. "Read. You read this! You!" Did she just terrify her own clones? Yes. Yes, she did.

-Back to present- -Clone-

Nonetheless, today was the day she'd start watching classes. With her wind control clone watching one, and a clone split off from her 'main' shadow clone to watch another. Yet, as the shadow of a shadow clone watched... she found herself disappointed.

'It seems like I'll have to reorganize some things more than I thought. In a Universe like this, how could you be disparaged so much still?' Watching the subtle indifference to outright harassment Rock Lee was given, and how the sensei acted throughout the day, Naruko clenched her hands. 'The Academy is meant to foster bonds, to grow one's spirit, and to create Shinobi that will be PROUD to be of the leaf. If we act like this as children, treating our future comrades like this - then what is the point? How can you dare call yourself a sensei if you don't help your students?' For a brief moment, fangs began to peak out from her mouth before she calmed herself.

'Calm down.' Clenching her fist to try to get the blood flow down she continued to watch. 'He's clearly already getting training from Might Guy, yet no one sees it. They don't see how his movement is so much more refined than theirs. Except...' Her eyes narrowed onto the Hyuga sporting a clothe around his forehead. 'The Genius of the Leaf.' Staring, a thought struck her. 'He's been told about Hizashi?' There was no brooding, no superiority, none of them. Well, none out of the norm for someone at the top of your class. Focusing on this instead of the absolutely enragin- 'Hisashi must have seen Hinata was acting a certain way, and realized Neji might die? Or something else changed.' Narrowing her eyes she'd stare deeper at him before a grin bloomed. 'I see.' She popped herself before she burst out cackling.

Needless to say, the Main Academy Shadow Clone and Main Body burst out cackling themselves, before nearly tapping into the Kyuubi chakra as rage wafted over them from moments just before that.

-Fourth Day-

Watching classes she had no knowledge of was interesting. Besides the different years, there were just more classes inside of each year, after all, cannon Naruto seemed to only have one class for each year. As the overseer, it was her job to find hidden talents and note them down. One of the easiest ways she could do that was by blocking the senses of the Sensei from her, and one by one trying to get each individual student to see or feel her. If one student per year could find her when she didn't think they would at the level she set? Then it would have been amazing.

Of the 6 classes she had tried so far, one student on average had found her in each class. Some through sight. Some through smell. Some through chakra, and some through hearing. It didn't matter - she tested every student to their reported levels and beyond. Not a singular student should have been able to find her if the academy had truly discovered people's talents. It's not like the person who saw her had better vision than Neji - no. It was just that his level of vision was drastically higher than what was reported. 'I think I'll have to once this is done look into what kind of teaching academy senseis get to become senseis. Such consistency can't be blamed on them, but some kind of systematic failing.'

-Day 23-

Sitting in an office far larger than her own with her eyes closed Naruko waited. 42 classes. 3 semesters, 2 classes in each semester, 7 years of instruction. On sensory capabilities alone she found 47 students who were underreported. Through careful observation, only 3 of those students did it on purpose, and she'd award those 3 before slapping them upside the head for not alerting the academy so they could be better trained.

As the last sensei came into the office she waited a few minutes before opening her eyes. "46. Do any of you know what this number represents?" There was silence from the 42 Sensei, 21 Assistants, 12 Specialized Teachers, and 7 Head Instructors. "I'll tell you what it represents. 47 students had Sensory capabilities that are markedly lower than what is reported. Only 3 of the students actually knew about this and were hiding this on purpose - because they are 'shinobi'. No class had more than 3 students with underreported sensory capabilities. That is 44 of the 46." There were worried looks, but none of them murmured or shifted. For they were still Shinobi, not students.

She paused gritting her teeth before saying, "One. One of you is so horrifically negligent to a student that it goes beyond bad training, and goes to the level that you need to be dishonorably discharged. That is 45." She sighed. "One. The academy has failed. It has failed you, and it has failed its students. 46."

Looking at them all in the eyes she'd finally say, "None of you will be fired. Sensei Onakwa will be demoted to Assistant Sensei. Assistant Sensei Ashima is now a Sensei."

Standing up she'd go to the window in the office. "Onakwa believed that Rock Lee could never be a shinobi because he can't use Ninjutsu or Genjutsu." She didn't say anything for a few seconds before, "Might Guy the greatest Taijutsu master to ever live has taken Rock Lee as his apprentice."

Her hand reached out touching the glass that showcased the view of Konoha. "What we view as correct is not always the case. Did you know that once Might Guy was denied his chance to go to the academy? He was deemed untalented? Now every day, everyone in Konoha knows his efforts. Knows his strength."

Naruko looked over her shoulder using a piece of information she asked specifically Gramps for. "Last week Might Guy nearly killed Roshi the Yonbi Jinchuriki." She didn't mention that to this day he was in the hospital unable to move as he recovered from the aftereffects of lava, bijuu chakra, and the eight gates.

"We need to do better. This isn't just a job. This isn't something you just retire to. Being a Sensei at the academy isn't a punishment. It is single-handedly the most important job in Konoha. I will be issuing additional changes starting tomorrow. Think about this, all of you. Take the day off we have tomorrow to reflect. Dismissed."

As they all left a moment later she closed her eyes and shrunk in on herself. Hands shaking her mind flashed back to the void, back to the memories of being alone for 8 years - even her own guards ignoring her. A moment passed before she inhaled straightening up. 'Do you think... I did good?" There was no response, not that she expected on- "Yes Asura." she smiled. 'Thank you.'

This is a shorter chapter. I have no funny comments. This is perhaps - the first truly serious chapter. This viewpoint and personality were hinted at in another character's perspective, kudos to those who know what character it was.
