9 ~ Bother

Things had been going well for a while now, Madison and Adrianna had been hanging out almost everyday of the summer, and the dreaded Freshman year was coming their way.

"Middle school was bad enough, and now it's probably gonna be ten times worse. What's so exciting?" Madison rolled her eyes, walking up to the bus stop

"Weelllll, maybe we'll meet new friends! It's just always been me and you, maybe another friend would be nice." Adrianna reasoned, lying through her teeth. She didn't want any other friends. Well, maybe she would, but she didn't want Madison to have any other friends. She didn't want to be replaced.

"That doesn't make school better." Madison rolled her eyes, then reaching in her backpack for something. She stopped for a second and her eyes widened, then giggling. "Hey, Adrianna..could I hold your hand?"

Adrianna went completely red and nodded a bit, silent. She then reached her hand over to grab Madison's, yelping and wiping a weird substance on Madison. "What the hell?! What was that?!"

"Liquid glue." Madison shrugged, a small smirk playing on her lips.

"Ugh, you're such an idiot." Adrianna rolled her eyes, getting on the bus, Madison following. They went back to their usual seat, sitting down.

Madison then leaned over, pushing her head against the seat in front of them, the bangs from the people in that seat knocking Madison back every once in a while. She was rummaging in her backpack for something, then taking out a long, blue, furry object.

It was a worm on a string. It had two googly eyes, one about to fall off and a small piece of cardboard with a string wrapped around it.

"Now this is my friend Timothy. Timothy, meet Adrianna. Adrianna meet Timothy." Madison then made Timothy throw his body at Adrianna, making her giggle. "Uh- Timothy! That was rude! Apologize!"

She then made the worm dance, raising her eyebrows. "Timothy..we know you love your job but not here." By now a few kids were looking over, Brandon then randomly yelling.

"BUST DOWN TIMOTHY!" Everyone then screaming, "AYYYYYYY!" Adrianna raised her eyebrows at all the idiots as Madison backed up so everyone could see Timothy and began making him dance, everyone cheering.

"Hey, hey, hey! It's gonna cost you to watch him! We gotta pay back his debt from Salsa classes! Timothy can't do this for free, you know. We will gladly accept food offerings for King Timothy." Madison yelled as she covered Timothy up, a few people handing cookies and juice boxes, therefore allowing Madison to let them see Timothy dance.

Slowly the bus came to a stop, allowing some kids in. A girl a few inches taller than Adrianna stepped onto the bus. Madison stopped making the worm dance and looked up, her eyes widening a bit.

The girl had short, platinum blonde hair, light blue eyes, rosy cheeks, and perfectly glossy pink lips. "Oo, she's really pretty.." Madison whispered to Adrianna, Adrianna freezing. Everything hurts now. She didn't know why she felt this way, she just did. She looked absolutely shattered as she stared at the girl sitting down in the seat across from them.

"Hey, what's your name?" Madison asked, leaning over to her. She glanced over to Madison, looking her up and down, resentfully.

"Tiffany. My name is Tiffany." She said, a small smile appearing on her face. "I'm new to this school, I'm sort of scared to be honest." She giggled a bit, Madison laughing with her even though she didn't even say anything funny.

"I'm Madison." Madison introduced herself. "And you should be! It's a nightma.." By then Adrianna had zoned out. She remembered sitting with Madison at the playground that summer, how pretty Madison was..

Was she going to be replaced? The girl seemed better in everyway. Adrianna couldn't have that. Madison was hers. Not anyone else's. "Madison! I just remembered that one time you accidently broke my microwave! Pfft- that was amazing..my mom hated it though." Adrianna desperately tried to distract her.

"Don't be rude, eh?" Madison said, turning back to Tiffany.

"She's rather annoying." Tiffany rolled her eyes, whispering it to Madison but it was rather loud. Adrianna sat there, staring at her. Was she really just going to sit there and talk bad on her right in front of her?

"Well, no. She's my friend." Madison said, seeming rather resentful of Adrianna though. Adrianna stared at Madison's eyes.

"Clearly not in your eyes.." Adrianna mumbled under her breath, turning around and leaning her head on the window. The bus moving made her head jump up and down, rather annoyingly but Adrianna felt too empty to move. She didn't care.

After a few minutes, the bus ride was over and they all got off the bus. Adrianna hoped Tiffany would go away now as Adrianna and Madison were supposed to go in together but she remained by Madison's side.

Madison moved her arm around Tiffany's shoulder, both of them giggling. "Yeah, I'll give you a tooar of the school! Why not?"

"It's tour." Tiffany corrected, walking with her.

"Whatever you say, princess." Madison laughed, walking with her. Princess? Pet names..? And Madison always would argue with Adrianna when she corrected her. And why were they touching?

Adrianna ran forward, next to Madison. "Hey, you and I were gonna go in together..?" Adrianna tried to remind her. Madison turned to the side, rolling her eyes.

"Adrianna, you're being a bit of a bother. Tiffany's new. I literally do everything with you." Madison laughed, then walking into a seperate hallway, Adrianna walking into the girls bathroom quickly.

"B..Bother?" She put down the seat and sat down, placing her feet up on in. She slammed her head on her hands, feeling tears sting at her eyes.

"Only if you knew how much I like you.." She continued slamming her head on her hands, digging her fingernails into her scalp. "Why am I..I'm making a big deal! She's new..but I feel like she likes her better.." Tears fell down onto her cheeks and dropped down onto her neck.

Adrianna then heard someone come in the bathroom, making her get up and quickly rub her eyes. She picked up her bag and left the stall, walking out without making eye contact with the girl.

She tried to shrug off her thoughts. She shouldn't be panicking. She didn't like her or anything..or did she?
