5 ~ Volleyball

Madison tapped her fingers on her desk, reaching inside of it to grab a gummy bear and tossing it at Adrianna. Adrianna felt the small tap, turning around.

"WaASSSUPPPPP!" Madison yelled, the teacher glancing over at her.

"Madison, be quiet for one dang second." She snapped, Madison saluting.

"You got it, ma'am." She then looked over at Adrianna. "Are you gonna come to my volleyball game after this?" She questioned Adrianna.

"You have a volleyball game?"

"You didn't know? Wow...I thought you loved me." Madison placed one of her hands on her chest, the other pressed against her forehead.

"I'll go, I'll go." Adrianna whispered, attempting to not get yelled at. She cared, unlike Madison.

"Really?!" Madison's eyes lit up, smiling.

"Yeah, now shut up." Adrianna sighed, turning back around. Once she had she smiled to herself, happily.

After a bit longer, Madison walked out of her last class, smiling. She was unzipping her bag and pulled out a pack of raw ramen. Adrianna ran to catch up with her, her eyes going straight to the ramen.

"Wh - Why do you have ramen?" Adrianna questioned, Madison shaking her head.

"I'll show you." She said, not opening it though. They then got to the volleyball court, both of them sitting on the bleachers. She then opened it, reaching inside to grab the packet of flavoring and take it out, handing it to Adrianna.

"I don't understa-"

"I'll show you! Wait!" Madison snapped, then crushing all of the ramen in the bag, a smile on her face. She then took the flavoring from Adrianna, pouring it in the container.

"And this is supposed to be?" Adrianna seemed concerned for Madison's mental health, geniunely.

"A poor man's snack." Madison then reached inside and took a handful of the crumbled, flavoured ramen and just ate it raw. Adrianna stared at her, completely speechless by her idiocy.

"Brown! Get over here and change!" The coach called Madison by her last name, Madison's head perking up.

"Buh bye!" Madison gave Adrianna the packet of ramen and then got up, doing her goofy wave. Adrianna waved back before she ran to the changing room.

Adrianna didn't really know anything about volleyball or positions, but if it made Madison happy, she would learn.

After a few minutes of Adrianna sitting, silent (not really as everyone was yelling), Madison came back out, second to last, in their school colors, but switched around.

Madison ran over to Adrianna, Adrianna looking her up and down. "Why is your uniform different?"

"I'm special. Meaning I'm the libero!" Madison put her hands on her hips, giggling. Adrianna stared at Madison, speechless from the idiot.

"Brown, I swear to god! Get over here!" The coach yelled again, Madison running away to talk to the others.

After a few minutes they began the game. Most the players were on the court, Madison walking around it. As the opposing team hit a ball their way, she dived from across the court and hit it, making the ball fly into the air, another player running up and hitting it to the other side, the ball hitting the ground.

Madison got up and raised both her arms in the arm. "WOOOOOO-HOOOOOOO!" She screamed, high fiving her teammates.

Adrianna sat there, staring at Madison. "I...she's so...perfect." She breathed out, a smile tugging at her lips.

That happened a few more times, leaving Adrianna speechless every single time. After the last hit Madison gave that made everyone cheer, the home team won and everyone ran to Madison.

Adrianna slowly got up, yawning as it had been a few hours and an interesting game, walking over to Madison. A bunch of people were around her, patting her back, happily.

Adrianna, holding the half full ramen packet, looking at Madison and then at the ground. "You did...good." She complimented, blushing.

Madison nodded. "I know I did." She winked, giving finger guns. "Do you wanna walk out with me?" She walked away from the people talking to her and to Adrianna.

Adrianna smiled happily, nodding. "Yeah, I'd love to." Madison wrapped her arm around Adrianna, them both then walking out.

They then headed out the door and walked for a few seconds, Madison then waving toward Adrianna who stood still at the doors to wait for her parents.

"Bye, Adri!"

"Wha..Madison are you walking home?"

"Yeah, why?"

"Oh..uhm..because I am too!" Adrianna giggled nervously, then running after Madison, Madison tilting her head to the side.

Adrianna texted her parents before beginning to walk with Madison, happy to be with her.

Adrianna was really cold, her cheeks turning pink and the tips of her fingers were getting numb..but she was with Madison. And that's all that mattered to her.

After a few minutes of Madison singing to Adrianna and talking about the things that made her happy, they arrived at the complex.

"Well, I've got to go before my dad gets mad at me like last time. Bye, Adrianna!" Madison waved at Adrianna, smiling, beginning to run away.

"Bye..Madison."
