Humiliation

The night before the wedding.

April was freaking out, she was so nervous and could not sleep. Tomorrow is her big day, and she could not contain her happiness. She decided to sleep over at Jade. They have kept the news regarding the wedding quiet and would only announce it the next day during a press conference they were going to hold. The wedding itself will be an intimate event. Sadly. Derek could not be present. Initially Adam planned on getting Derek to walk April down the aisle since he is her brother in law but now he is not around, he is unsure to leave the task to who.

Father Lee volunteered to walk April down the aisle. Adam was glad and Jade was happy that Father Lee's is reintegrating himself in the society. Despite making recovery, Jade observed that Father Lee's mood often low especially when he fails in his attempt to do some things. She can't blame him for feeling down, he is such a high achieving individual and led an active lifestyle mentally and physically and because of his stroke, he has many limitations especially communication. Despite being able to walk independently, his walking gait is not yet normal and unnatural. It is stiff and he can't walk for such a long distance. Ever since he had volunteered to walk April down the aisle, everyday he had been practicing to walk unaided for the same amount of distance. Doctor Ching decided to inject botox into his spastic muscle to reduce the stiffness in his movements. Since the injection, his walking gait has improved and that lifted his mood more. He can be seen smiling more naturally instead of the forced smile he has to put on when he sees Jade.

Jade kept all of these to herself instead of pointing it out to Father Lee. She only plans to inform the doctor if she thinks he is too depressed. For her, it's normal to feel sad when faced with this kind of challenge and situation. This kind of emotion is healthy as long as it doesn't affect one's motivation, activity of daily living, and instead be a source of motivation. Father Lee is grateful that he has such wonderful daughter in law, he knows she has been busy but she still made time for him. She hardly had time to pamper herself plus she has entered herast stage of pregnancy, in another 4 weeks she will be term and can deliver anytime soon. He sighed and became more determined to work hard, he needs to be a father and grandfather for that child if that brat has yet to return. He made a promised to the brat, he will take care of his precious wife for him but fate had better plans.

Tonight, all the billboard in town were lighted up and it was all showing the same thing. It was a wedding announcement between two big influential families, Adam Ho and April Lu, getting married and their wedding will be held tomorrow! People were puzzled by the announcement as no source was stated, just a written statement. Subsequently, the announcement was followed by videos of Adam before he met April, how he dated different women, how he was an air steward. The final video was a video of April being violated by the two brute men.

The Internet exploded. Parents were trying their best to cover their children eyes during the gory scenes. Adam, Jade, Chris received hundreds of calls. Jade told Kwi Shan to try and shut down the billboard but Kwi Shan was unable and in the end, the furious Jade told Kwi Shan to shut down the power grid and black out Beijing but Father Lee adviced her to think rationally, maybe this is what Heather wanted. April also agreed to let it continue playing, things had already arrived this stage. Shutting off the power grid of the whole Beijing means there will a lapse of time before the generator kicks in and Heather might use it as an opportunity to infiltrate in. Jade calmed down and processed the information and decided not to be rash.

Her heart had been in chaos of late, she last heard from Derek two days ago, he mentioned he will start his infiltration and would be hard to give a call or a message for at least a week. Hence, her ability to analyse and rationalise has been compromised. Adam rushed over just to make sure April is fine and was surprised to see a calm and collected April. Even Adam got attacked for his previous behaviour, saying that he is unfit to be the heir of Ho group.

They have to deal with this tonight of both company will face stocks slump. Board of directors had been making calls to the Ho and the Lu. April took Adam's hand and said in a determined voice. "That woman wants us to be humiliated and I won't let her win. Let's get married tonight and we broadcast it live and then we hold a press conference."

Adam agreed with her suggestion and quickly made preparations. His family all gathered quickly to support them. He was afraid she might change her mind because this is such a big blow for her being portrayed that way to millions of people. That night the couple became husband and wife under many watchful gazes, it was a simple yet beautiful wedding attended by family and friends. Kwi Shan broadcasted it on the very same billboard and hacked all video playing site to broadcast the event. Father Lee stood handsome and tall, walking April proudly down the aisle. After the couple dance, Adam's family all hugged April and welcomed her to the family. They showed no disgust or disdain.

Adam and April then sat down to make an announcement. April was first to speak, "I want to thank the person who gave us such a wonderful surprised wedding gift, indeed we planned to wed tomorrow in a simple ceremony like this but we had decided to do it tonight to show that despite your effort, we love each other. Yes, I was raped and it was against my will, to those of you who watched my suffering in glee, well just pray it doesn't happen to you, your wife, or your daughter or even your mother. I pray it doesn't happen to anyone because it is truly traumatising. The only reason why I am still sane and sound is because of all the people here with me today at my wedding and especially this man beside me. I deserve happiness despite what I went through.
