Chapter 16

After a few minutes Kayla and Parker went on their way. "K. You sure that you don't want me to confront them?" "Yeah. I don't want any unnecessary problems." "But-" "Parker. Just forget that happened and it's not a new thing for me. I'm used to it." The two of them walked to Cosmos's house silently after that. "Wow. You guys ditched me and went on a date. Like c'mon man. K? Did you cry?" Cosmos asked while holding Kayla's face. "Yeah something went inside my eye" Cosmos just nodded as a response while Parker sat on the couch. "Do you feel any pain?" Kayla asked Cosmos while shrugging off his hands. "Nah. I'm perfectly fine cause my doctor was a sweet little girl." Kayla smiled at him and then the three of them started watching a horror movie.

Kayla left Cosmos's house around 6 in the evening and was about to enter her house when she heard loud noises from inside. "Fuck you! We didn't say anything about you! Why are you calling us to talk about this shit? Who do you think you are?" It was Kayla's aunt. "Don't go to her level. Let her be and give me that phone." Her uncle comforted his wife. "Fuck you! Don't call us again!" The call ended and Kayla just stood there like a statue. After a few minutes she entered the house to find her aunt and uncle staring at her angrily but they didn't say anything. She quickly rushed up to her room and tried to sleep but her sister entered the room. "Did you hear them?" "Yeah." "That was mom they were yelling at." "Okay." "Why are you so chill about it? Don't you see that it's a serious matter?" Kayla didn't reply back so her sister left the room angrily.

The next morning Kayla was on her way to school when she felt someone holding her bag. She turned around to face that person to find that it was Ben. "Morning!" Ben said with a wide smile while Kayla gave him a dead stare. "What's up with your expression? Aren't you happy to see me?" "I feel anything but happy when seeing you." "That's mean. So how was your weekend?" "Why would you be interested in knowing that?" "Damn girl I was just asking." "I don't think you have the right to know." "Why are you so mad at me?" "Because it's you." "K? You fine?" Parker and Cosmos entered the scene. "Yeah I'm fine Parks. And you." Kayla said the second part to Ben while she stared him down. "You can act all innocent after talking behind my back. Maybe it's a routine for you but it's not for me. You better get your act together before I do something even worse than confrontation." "How'd you know? Who told you?" "That filthy mouth of yours did." With that Kayla left while Parker and Cosmos followed her and the three of them reached their school.

"Didn't you say you didn't wanted to do that?" Parker asked her while Kayla took out her books from the locker. "Changed my mind." "Why so suddenly?" "Well one thing piled on to other and here I am." "Either way I'm proud of you. I like you." Parker sweetly said. "Stop that already. Now let's go to the class." The day went by in a haze and by the time Kayla realized it, it was already time to go back home.

"So I was thinking. You guys want to hang out at my place?" Cosmos began. "I'm in. What about you K?" "I'm not so sure about that." "Why?" "I just wanted to get some rest." "Oh okay then." The three of them each left for their house after a hug. Kayla had just entered her house when she got death glares from her aunt and uncle. "Why are you reaching home always late. Does it take that much time?" Her uncle yelled at her but Kayla kept her cool and rushed towards her room. She was about to sleep when her uncle entered the room and scolded her for no apparent reason. After he was gone Kayla locked her room and took out her blade and started cutting herself until her wrist was covered in a deep shade of red and then fell asleep. When she woke up in the morning she found her wrist all cleaned up and bandaged again. She wanted to smile but didn't have the energy to so she took a deep breath and then left to prepare breakfast.

After she had finished cooking she packed the cupcakes she made and placed it in two cute paper bags and placed it in her bag. Kayla had just reached her school and was standing infront of her locker when she saw Parker and Cosmos approaching her. She faced them and gave them their cupcakes and left for her class. She was quietly sitting in her seat when Ben and his friends surrounded her. "Hey Kayla! We came here to apologize to you." Kayla didn't even look at them and kept on scribbling in her book. "What's up with your hand?" Ben worriedly asked her. "Did you do that to yourself? Do you think it looks cool? It looks so hideous." Kayla hid her wrist and stayed silent while trying to calm herself down. "Why do you care whether it looks hideous it not?" "Yeah. Learn to mind your own business." Parker and Cosmos replied with angry gazes which made them leave. "K you ok?" Cosmos asked her while holding her hand. "Yeah but you guys shouldn't have done that. That might cause a fight." "As if I'm scared of those cheap guys." Parker said in a low tone. The classes went on as usual and by the time school ended Kayla was really tired that she couldn't even walk properly. "K we think that you should-" Kayla was listening to Cosmos talk when she suddenly passed out.

When Kayla woke up she was in Cosmos's bed and when she tried sitting up she felt really dizzy so she kept on laying down. "K? You're up?" Parker sat beside her. "Yeah." "How do you feel?" "Fine." "Stop saying that your fine everytime when you're not." "I can't stop it just like the way you can't stop saying that you like me." "I see that you can joke around." Kayla just smiled slightly. "What happened back there?" Parker questioned her. "I don't know." "Don't lie." "Okay. I didn't eat so I passed out." "How long have you been starving yourself?" "It's almost a week now but I drank alot of water." "I'm pretty sure water doesn't have enough nutrients that your body needs for growth. Why are you not eating? It's not like you're really heavy or anything." "I tried eating properly but whenever I tried doing that I would puke out my food. Maybe it's because of the smoking or the fear that I might gain weight again." "It's okay but just know that your body belongs to you and you don't have to prove anything to anyone."
