Xi Jiu's steps halted, a hint of a smile flashing through the depths of his cold, dark eyes.
He walked up to Ruan Qi and stopped in front of her.
Ruan Qi, who was slurping her noodles, felt a large shadow cast over her, looked up, and blinked at the man looming above her.
Xi Jiu looked down at her.
The little girl's face was only the size of a palm, and her cheeks were puffed out with the noodles she was eating, making her resemble a chipmunk hoarding pine nuts.
The corners of Xi Jiu's mouth twitched slightly.
"Mr. Xi?" Ruan Qi, recognizing the person, seemed a bit surprised.
She quickly swallowed the noodles and stood up, holding her bowl.
"Why is Mr. Xi here?"
Xi Jiu: "I had a meeting and happened to pass by."
Shen Shi, who was coming to find Ruan Qi, overheard this and stopped in her tracks, silently glancing at the park's sign not far away.
A meeting that happens to be in a park outside the second ring of the Imperial Capital?
