Chapter 1

As the sun dipped down into the edge of Witches Woods, the sound of a creaking door echoed through the halls of Diremoore castle. A girl with pitch black hair and blood red eyes snuck into the castle's library. As she slowly closed the door behind her the moon shone through the window panes. It reflected off her stunningly pale skin and lit up the rows and rows of books. She let the door close with a groan and silently strode towards the farthest shelf of books. She started at the highest shelf, on which only was a single book. It was as old as the forest itself. She grabbed a chair from the nearest table and brought it in front of the shelf. She stepped on the chair and it creaked under her weight. Reaching as high as she could, she pulled the book off the shelf. She got down and pulled the chair back to the table and sat down. With the book placed in front of her, she opened to the first page. The page read "The Spells of the Forbidden." She kept reading and didn't notice the door open and a tall thin man stood behind it. "Alina Morano, what do you think you're doing!" The man yelled as he stormed angrily to Alina.

"Father, I...I'm sorry. I just wanted to read it," Alina muttered.

"Close that book now!" Her father shouted "You are not meant to read or even touch that book! Leave here and go back to your room!" Alina slammed the book shut and stormed off into the dark hall glaring at her father as he waved his hand and the book flew back to its shelf. Her Father turned away from the library and closed the door. He retrieved a key from his pocket and with a click, the books were locked away forever.
