Body of water

Three days after.....

Iyya sat on the beautiful, well-furnished table, with a clear view of the cabin beach and the beautiful garden in front, with her beautiful man sitting beside her.

She had dissolved all her worries about this man. He had no superpowers. She had slept awake the first and second nights to see if there was anything different about him.

Or if he had any plans of harming her, like her overthinking mind kept pumping her to believe, but he was just another human privileged to be born rich.

A few minutes after his transformation into a human in the Serengeti, the sirens and convoys of cars and private jets that came to his rescue were beyond any less fortunate man's doing.

He had access to so much money. This was not hassle money. This was old money. A lot of money.

Iyya had been in constant private jets and presidential-like convoys since they left Serengeti with her human, who she now knows is addressed as 'Xendy.'

This human was a billionaire, and he held too much power beyond Iyya's thinking capacity. With each following day, he proved to her how privileged he was.

Whenever he stepped out of a car or jet, no one looked into his eyes. Everyone bowed down with respect. Some people were trembling with fear when they talked to him.

He was so nice to her. He talked to her as if he was talking to his best friend. They had developed a way of communication where she nodded or shook her head or squawked and he would know what she needed.

Every fear and worry she had when she accepted to leave Serengeti with him had dissolved out of her mind.

Iyya believed there were no superpowers in him.

He was just another unfortunate person who was cursed by a witch into a wolf form.

But today, of all the days they had spent together, something was troubling him. Today, he couldn't find any sleep.

Iyya couldn't bring herself to figure it out. Something was completely off.

She truly wanted to communicate with him today and ask him what was troubling him, but she had no way out. She sat there watching him. He was lost in thoughts with a gloomy face that spoke his mind.

Then Iyya watched him as he opened his new cell phone. It had been lying on the table for a whole day since the escorts had delivered the phone earlier in the morning.

He debated before he dialed a number and put the other person at the other end of the phone on a loudspeaker. Someone on the other end spoke in a worried tone. “X.… Is that you?”

Xendy replied. “Yes…Josh, it is me.” Iyya wondered who Josh was. He had not communicated with anyone around her. And she had wondered why. And pushed the thought away, thinking he was just like her, with no one to go back to.

“Are you okay? I can't reach you through the mind link.”

“I am okay. I arrived safely in Zanzibar, and I had a very good stay.……... I didn't have a network connection throughout the trip. I am so sorry that you could not reach me. But I am okay.”

Josh, on the other hand, shouted so loud that Xendy extended the speaker of his phone away from his face. “Okay?! Really...... In all your travels around the f***k world, I could mind-link you always!

“But now you have vanished X, I can't get through to you. I was scared. How bad is it getting? Are you in control of Y? Can you get back and maybe we could visit Aunt Naina? She might be of help.”

“I will be back in due time. Come on, stop whining. I miss you too……. How is the Pack doing without me?”

“Well, I don't know how to tell you this X, but Trajan has all the votes now. Even Aunt Naina voted you out this time around. At the next council meeting, which is happening tomorrow, he will be sworn in as your rival for the Alpha King title.”

Iyya watched as Xendy's whole body tensed within the following seconds. He started babbling something that Iyya couldn't understand.

Something about never leaving a pack for the monster that killed his mother.

Did someone kill his mother? That statement troubled Iyya.

Raising her eyes. She found that he had stopped moving, looking at him in shock. She noticed he stood panting; the air coming out of both his mouth and nose at measured intervals.

As he tried so hard to get back in gulps of air. Then he threw the cell phone on the wall with all the force he could gather and shouted angrily.

In the following second, with super speed, he rushed to the wall and punched it with a force that almost looked like a tsunami.

And not to Iyya's expectations. The whole wall came crumbling down, with massive dust filling the room.

The cabin was crumbling down and Iyya did not want to see herself buried under it. She hurriedly tried to flee the scene, but she couldn't make it far.

It was all dark in her eyes.

She was scared, covered in dust, and couldn't believe the turn of events. She tried to hold herself, putting her feathers up and flying with no idea of direction.

And trying hard not to suffocate, because she was now failing to breathe well.

She was coughing hard when she saw and felt hands holding her and taking her out of the room that was now invisible because of the dust.

When it was all visible while talking in huge gulps of air. She saw it was Xendy who had carried her out onto the porch of the room. He put her down as he looked into Iyya's eyes.

Iyya was terrified as she looked back at him.

“I am so sorry.” He murmured with an apologetic face. His hand was bleeding, but he did not care about himself and he was tracing Iyya's feathers to see if all this hurt her anywhere.

“I did not mean to hurt you. Are you in pain anywhere?” She shook her head. He wanted to say something more to her, but then completely ignored it.

Then he looked at Iyya's eyes and started wiping the dust away from her feathers gently. Iyya saw his hand again, and her eyes went wide open.

She closed her eyes and opened them again, just to be sure. She was sure she had seen the hand earlier, had a big wound with blood drippings when he was carrying her out of the room.

But now, it looked brand new, like nothing had happened. And what scared Iyya was that he did not seem to care. This should have freaked him out, as it did to her.

Instead, he carried her and put her down onto the porch beds beside the swimming pool. 'What was happening? ' Her deep-thinking mind took over.

The thought of Xendy being a supernatural person who was here to harm her scared her.

Meanwhile, Xendy had jumped high, aiming for the swimming pool. Then he dropped speedily as he dived inside the pool that was in front of them.

Iyya's mind was brought back by the water splashing on her and her heart skipped with his action and with the sight of the body of water and water splashing at her.

She jumped, ready to run. She almost jumped out of the porch bed, but Iyya was surrounded by splashes of water all around. If she could talk then, she would ask him to take her away from there.

Since her transformation five years ago, she has never stood inside or near bodies of water.

She always had this fear that she didn't understand. There was something fishy about her body and the water. It's like they repelled each other.

Looking back, even the watchman who was hired by her stepmom to guard her in ZALA kept her locked during the rainy season.

But he also kept her hidden when she turned into a human during that time of the month.

At the thought of that time of the month, she smiled inside.

She was betting all her life on it.

It's the time of the month she has been sitting down for the last three days, eagerly waiting for it to come around.

To turn human.

To turn human and talk to Xendy.

So that she can plead with him to either take her to her stepmother in Zanzibar or tell her how he did it.

The question she was dying to ask him was what exactly did he do for him to succeed and be able to get his human body back?
