Chapter 40 The greatest inventor

The bullet perfectly hit Yuri. Yuri stood there while taking the bullet in his chest albeit with its incredible speed and lethality.

Arthur creased his eyebrows as he shouted.

" Tanya, get away from here now."

He pushed her away and crossed his arms.

Bang*

A piece of metal plunged into Arthur's leg.

" Ah!"

He groaned with pain. His leg gave away even though it was protected by the Kevlar armor.

" No!"

Tanya rushed next to him. She quickly pulled out the metal and sprayed something on his leg.

Swoosh*

Yuri walked towards them with a cold smile. He was enjoying the show to his fullest. He was savoring the pain of Arthur as it was the most delicious dessert in this world.

" Mr. Frost, you have made so many incredible toys for the alliance. Honestly, I am impressed with your mind. Even the greatest scientist of our country admitted that he was inferior to your scientific knowledge."

He said while touching his mustache. His cold eyes were focused on Arthur's face.

Arthur raised his head and looked into his eyes. His eyes indicated that he hadn't given up yet.

" You are that psychic. Who would have thought the mastermind was the foremost person in the Soviets. So what do you want from us?"

He said with indifference. He understood that his guns weren't effective against this powerful psychic without surprise element hence he wanted to buy time for to security breach protocol which was activated when Arthur left the elevator.

Arthur wasn't a fool who would believe in his plan 100 percent, he had taken precautions against similar events like this in case of emergency. Therefore Arthur placed another function in the elevator during his installation of it. He created a secret button that activates a security breach protocol.

Yuri smirked with victory. He was sure that Arthur was in his palm.

" Ah, what a great day! To capture the most annoying people in my conquest of the world."

He spoke with a delighted expression.

Suddenly, everything turned red. A loud sound of a signal woke up him from his delusion. He placed his hands on his ears.

" What is it? What have you done?"

He said while grabbing Arthur by the collar. To his horror, Arthur was looking at him without any expression like he was expecting it.

Arthur freed himself from his grip as he got up from the ground. His tall muscular 2 meter body immediately towered the lean body of Yuri.

Yuri felt overwhelming dread as he staggered back to the wall. He tried to use his power, but he couldn't move anything nor he could control them.

Arthur walked to him with a calm and steady rhythm. He looked at Tanya and smiled.

" You remember that I had a lot of super-powered friends and enemies, right?"

He said lightly. Tanya nodded with puzzlement. She couldn't comprehend what was going on because Arthur was dying a few seconds ago and suddenly he came back to life. It was already clogging her brain.

Arthur continued with a dark grin on his face.

" You see I have 2 best friends who are humans. They were respected by others because they have the brightest minds like me. However, they have one similar obsession. That is to create ways to contain all capable beings in their cages.

Well, one is grumpy while the other one is narcissistic, but I have learned a lot from them and my mistakes. Hence, I built a security device that emits ultra electro-magnetic waves that can cancel out any material manifestation like psionic waves and so on. Not only does it disables their ability it can also disarm any weapons in the chamber."

Arthur said while putting his pistols back.

He stood before Yuri and looked at him. Yuri also got up from his place as he tried to struggle for his life, but he didn't know one important thing. Arthur was a martial artist who could hold his ground against super-powered beings like Abomination or Captain America when he was a normal human in his world.

Arthur swiftly hit his ears with a strong clap. Yuri felt his mind go blank as he slumped down, but that wasn't the end. Arthur lifted him by his throat and choke him. Yuri struggled to get out, but how could he beat Arthur who was already at the limit of the human body.
