Chapter 125 Wasteland

" This place is truly a dead place."

Kyle said with a blank face as he crouched down to feel the life of nature but he felt only the subtle energy of life from it. Moreover, by the looks of the scorched marks, he concluded this place was probably destroyed by nuclear missiles rather than a nuclear disaster.

" I will get a sample for analysis. This is a rare chance to learn something."

As a scientist, Viper never got a chance to witness a place like this in her world and this was the best place for her study field.

" I will fly up and see around whether there is a settlement or not."

Firestorm spoke calmly as he flew to the horizon. In this mission, he was acting as both a scientist and bodyguard due to his dual identities.

" The radiation is much calmer than we expected but that doesn't mean we can be careless. Kyle, Tony, and Tesla, let's see whether we can find something around here. Viper, you can follow us."

Banner said calmly as he checked the Geiger counters. It showed high radiation but it was still in tolerable range.

" Hmm, the order of this world is probably lost due to the apocalypse, so let's be extra careful."

Tesla thought it was a good idea to be careful since they witnessed planets like this many times and surely this wasn't a good place for normal people.

" Wait, I picked up living being nearby. It is approaching us quickly."

Tony who was in his suit while analyzing the place saw red dots on his radar. He quickly activated his weapon mode to look at the creatures as he saw big rats that were enough to rival the size of a dog.

" Wait, don't kill them. I need to study their anatomy and activities for my research."

Viper spoke lightly while observing the creature with interest. The androids and robots that were following them, immediately rushed toward them to neutralize them as Tony grabbed one of them to figure out its anatomy.

The rat struggled to free itself from his grasp because Tony held it like it was nothing. It felt fear toward these beings, knowing their fate wasn't bright in their hands.

" Fascinating. These creatures can withstand my lightning despite being furless."

Tesla also showed his interest after witnessing their resilience toward his electricity.

" I feel a high amount of gamma energy from them. They aren't simple creatures and I can tell that they can grow even bigger than this."

Banner also took out his device to analyze them crudely. The scientists were curious about nature, so this place was practically heaven for their research. Especially they could see this place had no law to bind them down because everyone was dead by the looks of it.

Even Tony who doesn't do much these days, was showing interest in this wasteland despite witnessing multiple high-tech worlds.

" Let's find a building to set up our base and scout the area. I can tell there is no satellite that we can use, thus let's use basic drones to search for the area. If things get better, we can launch a mini satellite after setting up here completely."

Kyle was glad to see this place wasn't as hopeless as it looked in the first place. The research value of this place was enough to tempt these scientists, so there must be good things that he hadn't seen before.
