Chapter 5: The Radiant Legion

Seeing that Dadan was dead, Hikari sheathed his katana.

Then came the sensation—the influx of all of Dadan's combat memories into his brain. While Hikari had previously gained some combat experience from eliminating bandits, his training and knowledge from the Shinigami Academy encompassed various forms of combat. Thus, there wasn't much for him to gain in terms of technique or skill.

However, Dadan's death provided Hikari with valuable combat experience in wielding weapons he had never used before, such as clubs and axes. This newfound knowledge greatly enhanced Hikari's combat abilities.

Simultaneously, a new message materialised in Hikari's mind.

[Special Mission Completed!]

[Would you like to receive a Divine Mission?]

Without a moment's hesitation, Hikari responded, "Yes."

[Divine mission has been accepted!]

[Divine Mission: Assassinate the World Noble during his arrival at the Goa Kingdom]

[Time Limit: 20 days]

What the fuck!

Hikari knew that the divine mission was going to be hard but this is straight up telling him to go to his death.

He was certain that the World Nobles would be accompanied by an admiral-level fighting powerhouse for their protection. And trying to assassinate them would be tantamount to declaring war against the World Government.

Of course, that would certainly not matter as Hikari would be out of this world in 20 days

Didn't Kayla and Joel also have a similar type of mission?

Realising this, Hikari retrieved the GPS tracker that Kayla had given him before their departure. The small watch-like device activated with a click of the 'On' button, projecting a holographic screen in front of Hikari's eyes, displaying Kayla's current location.

So they're in the Goa Kingdom?

It should be nearby.

After cleaning up the entire place where and erasing his traces, Hikari departed.

Inside a hotel room in the Goa Kingdom, three individuals were engaged in a discussion.

"What! You completed the special mission?" Both Kayla and Joel were taken aback by this revelation.

The completion rate for special missions was high, but not everyone managed to accomplish them in their first world.

Excitement gleamed on Kayla's face as she exclaimed, "Congratulations! Joel, do you think we should invite Hikari?"

In that moment, Joel's typically stern expression softened, and he replied, "Congratulations! So, did you accept the Divine mission?"

Hikari nodded quietly, prompting even more enthusiasm from Kayla.

"Very good. I'm starting to like you more and more," Joel chuckled and retrieved something from his pocket, handing it to Hikari.

As soon as Hikari accepted the item, he heard the voice of the Miracle resounding in his mind.

"Legion? Is this a player organisation recognized by the Miracle?" Hikari carefully examined the badge in his hand and asked.

The badge was made of brass, with a vivid western five-clawed dragon engraved on the front and a smooth back without any patterns.

"That's right. There are two legal forms of organisation in the Miracle's space. One is a small team of up to twenty people, and the other is a large legion with no limit on the number of members."

"These two forms of organisation are not conflicting, and players can have both identities at the same time. In fact, most of the members within the legion are also divided into small groups in a team form, carrying out some unified activities."

"The Radiant Legion was formed by High Radiant Kyros, and we are one of the top legions in the Miracle's space." Although Joel's tone was calm, it revealed a full sense of pride.
