Chapter 6 Rick's House and Others

They continue down the road for about 15 minutes, Rick saw his house and got off his bike in a hurry almost falling over. Rick and john walk briskly up the concrete stairs and reach the door, Rick swings the door open and starts to search the house.

He yells, "Lori, Lori". He walks into the bedroom and does not find anyone, he walks out through another door and starts to shout, "Carl, Carl".

He quickly went towards the boy's room, but he didn't find him anywhere, he shouts, "Lori, Carl", and then he collapses on the ground.

John seeing that Rick was curled up on the floor crying, went towards him and patted his shoulder, John said, "Don't worry Rick, they probably went to a safe zone set up by the military".

Rick looks up at John and starts to feel a little better, he thinks to himself, 'I just have to find them'. Rick then walks out of the house and sits on the concrete steps, John went to look around the house, and notices that all the picture frames are gone, and the clothes are thrown about, showing that they packed up and then left in a hurry.

Meanwhile, Rick was sitting on the stairs and then he saw someone walking down the street, while he waves at the man, and while he was distracted, a black teen snuck up behind him with a shovel. Rick hears him step on a stick, but before he could turn around, he got smacked hard with the shovel, clang.

Duane then shouts, "Daddy, Daddy"

Rick who was on the ground semi-conscious with a bleeding noise say, "Carl".

Morgan walked over after shooting the man, Rick had seen, in the head, he walks over and looks at Rick laying on the ground. He asks, " What's that bandage for"

Rick says, "What?"

The man points the gun at Rick and pulls the hammer of his small revolver and says, "Answer me!" but Rick had already passed out.

John, who was watching all of this from the front door, while eating a bag of chips he found inside the house, says, "Hey Rick, you alright"

John then proceeds to walk over to Rick who was on the floor. However, halfway there, the man with the revolver points it at him, John stops and looks at the Morgan, he says, "Who are you? Where did you come from?".

John gave Morgan an 'are you serious look'. Before saying, "I am John and the one on the floor is Rick. Obviously, we just came from the hospital, we are still wearing our hospital gowns".

Morgan pauses as if he had just come to a realization, then he puts down his gun and says, "Help me carry Rick inside, it's dangerous outside at night". I walk over and grab Rick's arms, while Morgan grabs Rick's feet.

We carry Rick inside the house across the street and put him onto one of the beds. The man says to me, "Hey, sorry about your friend, can't be too careful these days. I'm Morgan and this is my son Duane".

I say, " Yeah, nice to meet you guys". Morgan the starts to put up blanket on the windows and securing the house, Duane is helping him, so I start to help as well, after I went upstairs and summoned some clothes to wear. A plain white T-shirt, and a pair of jeans, I already had the boxers from the hospital on, so I quickly wore them, they were a perfect fit because the system perfectly measured my body. They hugged my body perfectly, showing off my body that had barely any fat on it at all.

Then I went back downstairs and started helping them set up the house, I asked them about what was going on and they told me the whole story, about the walkers and how to kill them. By the time we had finished securing the house, it was already quite late. We hear some noise from the room where Rick had been, so we walk over and go inside the room.

I walk over to Rick and say, "Haven't you slept enough already, you were sleeping in the hospital for three days and you still need more rest. Haha".

Rick looks at me and ignoring what I had said to him he looks at Morgan and say, "Who are you? Why are we in my neighbor's house?".

Morgan replies, "My name is Morgan, and this is my son Duane, we are in this house because we have been resting here for a while. It is also very secure".

We then walk out of the room to the dining table where some bowls were, Rick comes out a second later following us after putting on a robe. The area was lit by candles and lanterns because it was already late into the evening. We all sit down at the table and start to eat after Duane says a little prayer over our food, Rick didn't seem to care about praying, but let Duane do as he wanted, then we started to eat as Morgan explained about the walkers to Rick.

After we had finished eating, Rick says, "So those walkers are outside right now."

Morgan replies, "Yeah, I never should have shot that walker today, the walkers are attracted to sound". Rick nods and then sits down on the couch next to John and starts to think to himself, while Morgan and Duane sit on the bed playing a card game.

After about 20 minutes of silence, a car alarm starts blaring from down the street. Morgan and Duane quickly get up and start to turn the lights off, when all the lights were off, we all go towards the blanket covered window and look around. Looking around outside we are able to see at least 50 walkers, we see the car that is making all that noise, Rick says, "Wont the sound attract more walkers."

Morgan says, "There is nothing we can do about it. We just have wait for the alarm to end".

While we are looking, Duane is looking around as well, but then he says with a gasp, "She here". Duane then runs away from window and jumps on the bed, crying into a pillow, Morgan quickly goes over to comfort him.

We walk away from the window, but as we were walking back couch, we hear the doorknob of the front door jiggling, Rick looks through the peep hole and he can see a female walker grabbing the doorknob, this shocks him, so he walks over to Morgan.

Morgan says, "She was my wife, but she got bit. The fever man, her skin gave off heat like a furnace. I should have put her down, I know that, but I just couldn't, I didn't have it in me to put down the mother of my child". Rick then looks at the door still seeing the doorknob turning.

Then they all try to go to sleep for the night because they know they will be busy in the morning.
