The Walking Dead by Dera Collins

"There's no way. You can't be alive, you simply can't! You were killed on the battlefield. You sacrificed your life for the wellbeing of the empire! You shouldn't be here. What has the dead got to do with the living?!" She shuddered in fear. "Indeed my beloved. I had been killed not by sacrificed but by betrayal. I had been betrayed by my closest allies therefore, my soul wonders seeking vengeance and shall not obtain salvation until justice be served!"

Chapter five

She woke up with a fright. She reached out to the side of the bed for a glass of water. Whatever that was, was all a dream. A very terrifying nightmare. It couldn't be or could her intuition be right. No, it's nothing but a dream, she reminded herself.

She lowered her hand down to her lower abdomen. Maybe it was all his work. He must be missing his father so much, she had started to hallucinate. Indeed, she couldn't wait for the emperor to return so they could inform everyone about their unborn child, the successor of the emperor.

She was jolted awake for the second time that night. This time but by a nightmare but by the wails and screams of the women in the harem. It sounded pretty bad, sounded like mourns. Something didn't feel right for some reason as she felt death lingering in the air. She stood up, jolted towards the hall. She needed to see what's the commotion, put it to an end. The emperor had left the empire in her hands so she had to make sure everything was right. Whatever the commotion was seemed to be intense.

She arrived at the hall but found none. The hall was eerily oddly empty then she realized, it wasn't from the hall but the commotion seemed to be outside the harem. She walked out through the large double Gates and then she saw it.

The horror of her dream, now the truth of reality. It happened for real which she couldn't believe.

She'd given him a warning, a fair judgement if the situation but he'd picked his responsibilities above himself.

She had to ask, needed to be sure for there was no way she could believe what was before her.

It couldn't be true, it can't be true for it seemed her eyes deceived her now.

She jolted forward, almost stumbled but was caught in time by one of the Queens.

"Emilia what is going on here? What's the matter?" Aileen questioned.

"Empress, the emperor.." Emilia stopped midway as Douglan took a step forward.

"M' empress y' humble servant stand before thee." Douglan said with a bow.

"General, what's this a hear. What's wrong with the emperor?" Aileen questioned worriedly.

"M'empress, the emperor was killed. The young lad died a martyr. The lad how painful it was gave his life fer the empire. The emperor is no longer with us m' lady fer he now dwells in the heavens. How good he was to me, how good he was to everyone. The whole empire will mourn the loss of their beloved emperor.

Three months later....

She was jolted awake by the dream. She'd seen him, her beloved emperor had apperead before her. He seemed sad, seemed full of rage and anger. His eyes blazed like fire. He looked upset, felt upset. He seemed like he'd returned from the depths of hell to destroy the world.

"What could be wrong? What happened to the emperor?" She questioned simultaneously and then suddenly she felt it. She felt a presence in the room causing goosebumps to form on her skin. She settled her gaze on the shadow in the room and then she saw it.

It resembled a mere shadow, felt like mere wind. It's footsteps echoed in the dark room. She could feel less better. Her instincts were to run, scream, let all hell break loose but strangely she didn't. She couldn't scream not run as she felt bound by it.

She searched for the lighter, turned on a candle but found nothing in the room with her. It couldn't be. Was she loosing her mind?
