"I could if you want me to." Damian turned to look at him. "But I don't think you do."
"And you're so sure of that?" Alessandro snapped, crossing his arm petulantly. "What do I need you for? If a bodyguard's main purpose is to look intimidating, I can hire a chihuahua with a mean bark for half the cost."
"My bark is a lot more ruthless than a chihuahua, trust me."
"I bet to differ," Alessandro replied haughtily.
Damian's mouth twitched and dragged into a smile. "Wow, you don't act like a spoiled brat at all for your age."
Alessandro bristled. Nineteen wasn't too young, but it wasn't too old either. "Considering this was supposed to be my vacation then, yes I guess I do deserve to act a little spoiled."
Damian nodded and didn't respond, his face turned back towards the TV. They sat in silence for several more minutes before he spoke again. "You can trust me, you know…I will protect you."
