Here I sat. Sat in the sauna contemplating. What have I done? This... is possibly the greatest betrayal I could've performed.
Why? I wanted it. I wanted more than I could have. I wanted melascula. I wanted mitsuri.
Hell...
I want ophis.
I want derieri
I want lena
I want yachiru
I want senjumaru
I want them all. But I can't have them all.
I, am a greedy bastard. I want it all, but I can't have it all. I have no confidence in a harem.
There is no way I could convince them into a harem, not only that, harem's are unfair. No matter how hard you try, there will not be an equal amount of love between them. There will be favourites.
But then again, the whole world is unfair. Starvation, poverty, drought, disease.
No, shut up. I will not convince myself that since the world is unfair I can have a harem.
I'm just a man.
A man with the power to change everything...
I need to stop deluding myself, I'm no longer just a man. Not since day one.
I'm a hybrid of a Quincy and dragon god. I'm no longer a simple man, my mind is changing. My body is different... I am no longer the same man I once was, as much as i want be.
Hell is in store for me.
I want to cry. I really do. Why am i like this?
I made a small blade in my hand. Couldn't... couldn't I just end it here? No, no no. That would only be a worse betrayal of mitsuri. I promised to never harm myself again.
"Where is mitsuri?" That flat tone. Ophis. Why is she here on the porch?
"Where has mitsuri gone?" What... no no no!
Could... could she have saw us? Is that why she's gone? No... I... I can't even be mad. That's a fucking lie... I'm absolutely pissed off at my own... fucking stupidity!
"Ophis... please, I'm begging you. Help me find her..." I hate this, so damn vulnerable. But... I fear that she might do something drastic. Even if she doesn't trust me ever again, I want to make sure she can at least live happy.
Death is no happiness. Especially in this world.
"It's done." The air behind her tore, a dragon gate. The primary way for dragons to travel, so mitsuri is behind there.
"Thank you, ophis." There was a small upwards curve of her lip.
"Bring her back in one piece. You and her are interconnected. If she is unwell, you are unwell." That's, an interesting view.
"Thank you." I walked past her, through the dragon gate.

A cliff. That was where Walter found himself.
There, mitsuri stood on the edge. He couldn't see her face, only her back.
The tears running down her face where out of sight.
"Mitsuri... I-"
"No, Walter. Don't say a word. I just want to know one thing.

No emotions." So says the monk.

"Was it all a lie? That you love me?"
Walter was at a loss for words, her tone was filled with misery. He had done this.
This was his fault.
"No! I... I do love you mitsuri. But I'm a greedy man. I'm not saying this excuses me. No, this isn't even a defense. Its just an explanation. I want it all. You, ophis, lena, melascula, derieri. I want it all. I know I can't have it. I damn well know that... but I can't stop wanting. In that moment, I was vulnerable. I was... miserable, I contemplated my life. I, am a distant person." The tears kept flowing and she took a step back.
"What... so it all works out because you're distant? You think I can excuse you Walter? No, its far too soon. I understand that you're distant Walter. You don't talk about your problems, you just take drastic action to solve those problems. But you had sex with melascula. That... that isn't something I can just accept! If you had told me, I... I might've allowed it..." another step backwards.
Walter tensed up after the step and synopsis of the situation.
"I... want to be loved. My parents were the only source of love in my life. I tried with relationships, but i was always distant. That moment, I just wanted to be comforted."
"You could've asked me... or ophis..." Walter looked at his hands, clenching them into fists.
"I... I hate asking for help. I try to do everything myself." Mitsuri started walking towards him.
He didn't have the confidence to look at her.
"You need to understand when to ask for help, and when you need to face things alone."
"The soul king needs no attachments. Ura Hadō: Sannodō - Teppūsatsu!"
The monk yelled at the top of his lungs, still smiling as mitsuri's right arm was turned to red Mist. Walter couldn't even process as his face was completely drenched by his sternritters blood.
"What... No... no... no no no! You'll be alright mitsuri, shhh. You'll be fine, I'll get tenjiro here and he can heal you! It's gonna be alright. You'll be alright." In his panic, the idea of healing her with the visionary was impossible.
His mind was filled with the sole thought of her death.
A gate opened.
One behind him
One inside of him
He no longer cared for suppressing his magic and reiatsu. It all spilled out.
As for the gate behind him, tenjiro walked out. How had he gotten here so fast?
The answer was the letter he had been engraved with. Schrift's hold a connection to the one who grants schrifts. With training, the granter can hide their emotions from sensing.
Walter had no training.
Thus tenjiro could sense his panic and sorrow.
Yachiru walked out from behind him.
"Shit! Walter! Lie her down, I'll heal her! Ichibe? Did you do this?!" Tenjiro was reasonably pissed, the leader of the zero squad had attacked a sternritter of the future soul king. That, by association, was an attack on Walter himself.
"Yachiru, help tenjiro." Walter carefully lay the woman he loved down. His tone was blank, as if he was just a doll. He made no effort to wipe the blood off of himself.
He pulled the swords from their sheath, and planted them in the ground.
"Ichibe hyosube. I want you to know, I'm going to kill you. Calmly. Methodically. And brutally."
"Speak my name with respect boy."
"Your name deserves no respect ichibe. You are the greatest defender of the lie perpetrated and protected by the soul society. You, are one of the six who caused the current state of the soul king. You deserve no respect. All you deserve is death."
"Don't patronise me-" there it went. In a moment, Walter had ripped the monks tongue out.
"I do not patronise you. I speak the truth." The monk who could no longer call the real name swung his brush splattering the soul king candidate in ink.
He did not flinch.
Under normal circumstances, Walters power would be halved after having lost his name.
"Your ink is useless ichibe. I, am still Walter Newgate. Your ink will not remove my name, because I, am immune." The visionary is a useful tool, good to use for short periods. For example, making oneself immune to a certain ability.
"Normally, I'd try to enjoy a fight. I have no such intention with you. I want to ensure you feel the pain that mitsuri felt." His left arm was turned to red Mist. Ichibe tried to scream, he could not.
Walters hand gripped his mouth, one cannot scream without a tongue.
"Did that hurt, monk? It should, I've raised your sensitivity to pain tens of times higher." The king grabbed his right arm.
"No... thats too far. I've already made you feel enough pain. However, just killing you won't work. I'm aware of your way of resurrection. Since you are a member of the zero squad, you're an invaluable piece. So instead of death, I give you rebirth."
Ichibe's body was crushed down to a single point, a grotesque ball of flesh and blood. Slowly, it lost its colour. Bit by bit, the ball of flesh slowly lost its colour and texture. Until it was a blank slate.
"That ball will grow into something new. Something better than the monk."
Walter rushed back over to mitsuri. Concern was visible on his recently stone cold face.
"She's not waking up. I don't know why. I can only guess it might be a coma. Something that shouldn't happen from just a cut off arm." Tenjiro looked up into Walter's eyes.
Broken. Instability.
He was... tenjiro couldn't describe it. But it wasn't good.
"Are you alright, Walter?" In an uncharacteristic moment of compassion for the yakuza, he decided to ask about the mans state.
"I..." He questioned himself. Should he lie?
"I'm not okay. No. I... I don't think I will be okay for a while." Yachiru walked over to the ball formerly known as ichibe.
It had slowly assumed a feminine form. Like a liquid metal formed into a female body. A slim woman with a ponytail. What seemed like clothes had also began to form.
"Walter. Would you mind a spar?" Yachiru was incredibly interested in the idea of fighting Walter after what he had done to ichibe. But as a secondary objective, it may also distract him somewhat.
She was not inept in reading the room.
"I know it was apart of our agreement. But... I... am not in the right state to fight right now." His hands were balled into fists, so hard that you would expect blood to be drawn. Even through the gloves.
"How unfortunate. Well, it isn't unlike we can spar another day."
Deep breaths. Walter took deep breaths in order to calm himself.
It obviously failed.
Deep breaths aren't going to help a man who watched the woman he loved have an arm turned to red Mist. Not even mentioning the fact that it was splattered all over his face.
"I... just want to go home."
"The entity has almost fully formed. So you still have time yet." Yachiru watched the form observant. Drinking in every colour. It's hair was pink and tied into a ponytail with a bow, a set of bangs hung either side of her head reaching down to her breasts. Her face was soft with several pronounced parts making her an unnatural beauty.
A pink crop top that slowly faded into a sky blue, several bands tied around her wrist alongside a watch. Blue torn jeans with a plain brown buckled belt. Red trainers with white laces.
Quite the modern attire. But it was one of the few characters that Walter still remembered. For ichibe whose ultimate move was a Palace of shadows created by stealing 100 nights from the soul society, this was the ultimate irony.
Her name was sunny.
Take the darkness, shine a light on it and shape it into something new.
Something better.
Erasing someone is a waste. And frankly, ichibe deserved far worse. But Walter saw fit to just make another ally out of an enemy.
One of yhwach's many abilities.
Power intuition. Any power that yhwach 'knows' will become his ally.
Its unclear what it means by 'knows' as he knew of ichigo's power yet he didn't become an ally.
Oh the myriads of power the father of the Quincy held. That power now fell into the hands of Walter.
Yhwach had been born. But he had yet to be discovered.
To be deprived of all senses, it is no different than death.
What pity he felt towards his brother
