Ravino

Compared to others in the main harem, Ravino's name was the last name on her to-kill lists. He was still number four, and only almost on par with number three, Yosef.

While he was still someone she hated so much, compared to Freed and Louvnel, his sins were milder. Of course, only compared to those two. Ravino was part of and a high-ranking member of the Sorceress Cult who wanted to study the divinity in her blood.

They were the ones who claimed to pursue knowledge and uncover the mysteries of the world. Ravino was also a sorcerer and a human, though he disguised himself to be a wolf.

While to be part of the Wolf Queen's harem, one didn't really need to be a wolf, a weak human race would definitely be included in the main harem and only be part of the minor harem.

In this world with various different races, werewolves were part of the higher-level races, while humans were at most an average race. They neither have a magical infinity nor a strong physique; however, they do have high intelligence and strong survival instincts, so sorcerers or official mages emerged from the human race.

Ravino was someone who was obsessed with knowledge and even with power itself; for him, the Wolf Queen was like a treasure chest full of mysteries that he had to uncover.

It was still disgusting, but not to the extent that it should have been number one on her list. However, since Zenesha would still suffer and be tormented in his hands, she didn't have good feelings for him, even though she sympathized with the human race as she was once a human.

"My Queen," Ravino's voice was both soft but also composed and reserved, as he approached her sitting in the seat beside her. Her dark pupils flickered as he observed her, and Zenesha really thought he was already dissecting her in his mind.

This kind of feeling was really creepy.

Despite her thoughts inside, the pure Zenesha smiled at Ravino as though she were really happy to see him. Zenesha could only grumble inside and watch everything unfold.

"Ravino, why have you come to see me?" she asked, in a still gentle tone. Now, she couldn't get herself to be annoyed with this tone; it was a standard script, so she managed to ignore them.

Ravino faced her and then took her hand and held it before slowly caressing it. This made Zenesha shiver, and all she wanted was to get away from this man, and this was so eerie that he touched her almost as if examining a great specimen.

Since she could still sense everything even while imprisoned inside, this was all felt by her. It was especially now that the Spirit Shackles had been weakened and the disharmony between her soul and body had decreased.

However, as usual, pure Zenesha didn't complain and let the man touch her hand without any excessive reaction to it.

His lips curled into a small, reserved smile, and while caressing her hand, he spoke with his baritone voice: "I suddenly miss you, My Queen. It's already been a while since I saw you."

'Bullshit, like hell, I believe your nonsense,' Zenesha harshly criticized inside. There was no way he missed Zenesha. Perhaps his studies had grown to a critical point, and he needed to study her again.

Without letting her say anything, Ravino continued, her dark pupils staring directly into her eyes.

"Can you believe it? I suddenly had a dream of you, and then suddenly I wanted to meet you. It seems my subconscious yearns so much for you, my Queen." His sincere eyes didn't take his gaze away from her.

This time, Zenesha didn't grumble and criticize his words. Instead, she frowned. Ravino wasn't like Yosef, who had a glib and sweet tongue; he was more straightforward and even reserved with his words sometimes. This also stemmed from the fact that, as a sorcerer, he was more rational than most.

So, it really was worth pondering why Ravino wanted to suddenly see her. Thinking deeply about it, Zenesha didn't focus on their conversation as it annoyed her so much how one-dimensional Zanesha was. Yes, she didn't even deserve to be called an idiot at this point; otherwise, it was shaming all the idiots in the world. Even an idiot knows some common sense sometimes.

As he thought of Ravino's words, an insight flashed through her mind. Was it possible that those beings were the ones who gave him this sudden feeling and interfered with his thoughts to see Zenesha?

No matter what she thought, it was really possible! Even Prime could do it by interfering with pure Zenesha's actions, so those beings probably could as well.

This knowledge didn't make her happy; it even increased her fear and despair for those beings that even Prime needed to be cautious about. So, as he said, those beings really paid so much attention in this world.

She vaguely understood that her seemingly small, questionable actions had garnered their attention. Or had they already noticed when Prime had suppressed her Spirit Shackles?

It made her apprehensive—did they send Ravino here to test her? Zennesha became wary at once, she didn't even dare to think of what had happened during the past few days as she remained motionless inside.

Her attention returned to their conversation. She observed Ravino to see if something was weird about him aside from being more affectionate than usual.

Indeed, through her gaze, which she had enhanced during these days, her perception of her powers and this world had deepened. She looked at him and then noticed that his eyes were deeper than usual, and even the aura surrounding him became prominent.

Zenesha's heart skipped a beat, and she averted her gaze immediately; she was more certain that they were observing her through Ravino's eyes!

"Do you want to visit my room?" This was the first thing Zenesha heard after focusing again on the conversation, and it made her eye twitch inside. She didn't want to, but she didn't even dare try to influence pure Zenesha's thoughts and could only watch the act helplessly.

Zenesha looked at him as though she were confused before she nodded and smiled.

"Of course, I can visit your room." Her standard answer came, agreeing to this suggestion without hesitation. In an instant, the feeling of being observed became intense, as though they wanted to know if this was really the pure Zenesha talking and not 'her' only going along with the script.

Zenesha remained still inside; she was aware of one thing during this exchange: they couldn't see her inside this Zenesha. Or at least, since they were only observing through Ravino's eyes, there was no way that they could see her inside, as it wasn't within his ability.

The reason she was certain was that she didn't feel that piercing gaze that Prime often had when looking at her; it was like it passed from the body to her soul.

After a few seconds, the feeling of being intensely observed vanished. If Zenesha could have sweat, she was sure; she was already drenched with sweat in her back and finally could sigh in relief. That was so terrifying!

However, aside from the anxiety, Zenesha also gained something from this test. Her eyes flickered with inexplicable light. Was it possible that those beings were unable to descend and visit her personally to confirm her state that they could only use someone to be their vision?

Or it wasn't that they couldn't, but they also were subject to restrictions that made it inconvenient for them to meet her personally?

'Hmm... this needs further evidence to be proven,' Zenesha calmly mumbled, but her eyes were already bright with this possibility.
