Chapter 8: The Truth

Sheila Belmonte's POV

I can see that Noah was turning his gear as I just dropped a bomb on him. He was close to his cousin, Aaron until Monti saw that I was Noah's future spouse. I don't know what to say when he confronted me that day.

Now, I remembered everything that happened on that day.

~~***~~

"What are you doing here?" Monti asked me when I was walking around the place that I don't know it was restricted. I was visiting with my mother who was talking with Monica, Aaron's mother.

"I'm sorry, sir. I don't know that I was not allowed to be walking around in the garden," I said as I was smiling at him. He scowled, clearly he was not happy with me being here.

"Off you go. And don't catch me when you were walking alone in the garden again. Maybe next time, I will not be so nice after all," he said before he disappeared. I don't know what the hell was wrong with that guy, but he needs to chill out.

I shook my head before I heard the voice of my fiancé with his cousin. I smiled when I saw they were walking around and about the castle that has been for a century with the Covacis. It was the ancestral home to them.

I wondered about Noah's ancestral home.

"Sheila. Come along, darling. We're leaving," I heard my mother was calling for me. Looking for one last time at Noah, I went away with my mother, hoping to catch him again next week at the same time.

Days come and went. It was that time again when I will be visiting the Covacis. My heart was thumping in my chest as I was trying to calm my nerves down. I was sitting with my mother at the back of the car and I saw the ancestral castle in the view. I smiled before my mother spoke to me.

"Now, I know that you wanted to meet your fiancé so bad, Sheila, but you have to compose yourself. It will do us no good if you're behaving like an ill-reputed lady now, are we?" She asked as she was staring at me. I gulped before I was sitting properly as a lady should.

"Sorry, mama. I will try to be better after this," I said as I was looking ahead like the lady that I was supposed to be. But then again, I was not a mere lady. I was a Pureblood and I was the key to uniting the vampires all over the world.

Maybe I was a big deal but I don't feel like it.

I sighed as I went out of the car before I was walking behind my mother when I saw that Noah was standing at the front door. He was smiling at me and my heart soared at his sight.

"Lady Belmonte. Miss Belmonte," Noah said as he took my mother's hand and kissed it. Then, he turned to take my hand and kissed it. He was smiling as he was looking into my eyes. I smiled before someone was clearing their throat.

"Shall we?" My mother said as she went on with lady Monica before I was walking behind them with Noah by my side.

"I saw you in the garden last week. When I turned to look at you again, you were gone," Noah whispered to me as I was smiling while I was looking at the floor.

"Well, if you have come earlier, maybe you will see after all," I said as I turned to look at him. He holds amusement in his eyes before he was nodding at me. A distant voice was calling after us.

"Ah, it seems that I was not the only one that was curious to know a Pureblood. Please excuse my cousin if he seems to eager to get to know you," Noah said as he was kissing my hand again. I smirked at him.

"Maybe he was more than eager to know after me. Maybe he wants more than just an acquaintance," I said before Noah was narrowing his eyes at me. He did not take my joke very well but I know why.

He was possessive of me. All blue blood is.

"Cousin, I see that you have brought your fiancée to finally make an acquaintance with me. Welcome, Miss Belmonte, to my humble castle," Aaron said before he took my hand and kissed my knuckles. I heard a growl from beside me before Aaron was laughing at his cousin.

"Calm down. I would know better to cross you in your presence, cousin," Aaron said as I know that he was such a carefree person. I wondered who would be his wife. Will she share the same carefree spirit or would she be more serious than her husband?

"Shall I give you a grand tour then, Miss Belmonte?" Aaron asked me before Noah interrupted us.

"I believe that honor will be mine. Miss Belmonte?" Noah asked me as he was holding his elbow for me to hold onto. I smiled at Aaron as I took Noah's arm.

"I'm sorry but I must incline to be with Noah," I said, smiling weakly at him before Aaron was bowing at us.

"If you insist. Who am I to say if a pretty lady wants to be with my wayward cousin," he said before Noah was cursing under his breath. I laughed before we were walking away from Aaron as he was lurking into one of the rooms. Noah sighed before I was looking at him.

"What's the matter?" I asked him.

"I'm sorry on my cousin's behalf. He was peculiar," he said as he was staring at me. I smiled at him.

"Nonsense. If anything he's fresh air in this gloomy castle," I said as I was looking around before we were walking on the hallway full of portraits of the Covacis back to the first ancestor of the family bloodline.

"It seems that my bloodline did have black hair for generations," he commented as I was seeing the portraits. Noah's right. It seems that black hair was their family trait. Even Aaron has it as well.

"But it suits you, with that pale complexion and cobalt blue eyes. I think you're handsome," I said before I felt blush was on my face. Noah chuckled.

"Well, I do hope you're sincere. You don't say that to flatter your fiancé," he said before I gasped at him.

"Why would I? I already snatched him off the marriage mart after all," I said before we were walking again as I was looking around and talked about random stuff.

After a while, I was being left alone again as Noah has some stuff to be done for the scientific research that he believed will be the creation of the future. I walked around in the garden again and I did not heed the warning that was given by Monti Covaci. I was standing alone in the garden before something was stinging my neck.

I felt it burned through my skin as I was trying to locate what it was but failed. The last thing that I remembered before I was closing my eyes, giving to the darkness was his voice penetrated my eardrums.

"It seems you were walking into my trap after all,"
