Kidnapped

Ch-111

Adira doesn't know what has happened to her. She was waiting for Lenora to come and have lunch with her. Just then, a maid came to her and informed her, "My Queen, the King, your family, and everyone else are in the study. They are expecting your presence. Would you like to go now and join them or have lunch first?"

Adira didn't know that everyone were meeting there. "Alright, I will go over," she replied, standing out. Also, Adira knew there was something happening in both kingdoms. She hated being treated like a kid and didn't know how to handle things. Today, since everyone was there, and she would be crowned queen, she had to let them know she couldn't be treated this way anymore. She actually thought of talking about this after crowning and prove that she was capable too.

This was what Lenora said. "You don't have to verbalize everything. But if you did, stand on it whatever it takes. And make sure whatever you do never compromises your self-respect,"

Her mother, Serene, always protected her. If not her, it was her brother. She was so dependent. Not to mention, she was the youngest in front of everyone here. Even her husband was centuries older than her. Adira was afraid that if she doesn't put her feelings in words now, her family would drill that she needs to be cared and be dependant on them into the heads of her new family. She can't let that happen.

These vampires are smart, and it's easy for them to bully her. If her sister-in-law, Lenora, was not spared from their bullying, then who was she to them? She would be a piece of meat to them.

She got up and silently walked with the maid. This maid was from the Werewolf Empire. She was sent here earlier in a month by her mother-in-law along with other maids, so they could familiarize themselves with the palace and the rules. So, when Adira comes, they can guide her properly with ease, making her comfortable. She loved the attentiveness of her mother-in-law. Because of her mother-in-law, she never had any discomfort with anyone there.

Also, As she was new to Vampira, she let the maids lead her all the time. It's only been a day for her. Adira felt like she had time to familiarize with the ways and routes of the palace. She also excused that since she had her first night with Zaros yesterday, she has difficulty walking properly. So, she thought he let her rest because of it, as the crowning would be tomorrow. Despite all that, she felt that she needed to talk about her feelings first. It's not that she cannot assert her dominance. She just wants to let them know she was capable enough before making a move. Or maybe was she wrong in informing first?

Maybe no. It should be the best to inform her first. If she can't assert her stance infront of her family then how could she assert her position in front of kingdom. The more she thought the more Adira felt she was right. And indeed she was right.

"The study is that way," Adira said when the maid was taking right turn instead of left. She visited the courtroom and her husband's study before. She remembered the routes a bit. Before Adira could say another word, the maid sprayed a powder on her face making her loose her conscious. Adira tried her best stay conscious but her wolf didn't respond to her. It's as if her wolf went into a sleepy state. This was not good. She tried to flail her hands and legs. But the gaurds and the other maids around seemed to ignore her for some reason. Infact they all, helped that maid mechanically.

Seeing Adira was still conscious, the maid sprayed some more powder making Adira loose that bit off consciousness.

They all carried Adira to a place in the backyard and went back to their posts as if nothing happened. In the next few seconds, all the maids and the gaurds who helped in making Adira disappear were on the grounds lifelessly.

Adira was unconscious for a long time. By the time, she opened her eyes, she was sitting in some kind of array that made her unable to contact with any other wolf. She realized, her senses were not working like usual. Her mind was foggy a lot.

"Are you up, kid?" she heard an eerie voice that made her tremble.

Looking up she noticed a skeleton with human eyes was walking towards her dressed in luxury clothing.

'So, this is Azazel Laroch,' She thought.

She heard the tales about him on how greedy he was. How mirthful he was. He was the reason behind the death of Zaros's older sister and the reason for the hell that Lenora went through. Not to mention he was an undead creature who practices dark magic. Adira knew she needs to tread carefully.

Instead of replying she pulled herself closer and sat back like a terrified rabbit. Yes, she was scared. That doesn't mean she would freak out and make a scene courting her death. These were the kinds of times, where she has to act accordingly rather than being foolish. Her every step would be watched if not by him then by his magic. Adira knew that much she has to be wiser.

"Oh! Scared much. They were right. You are still a kid," Zaros said.

"Soon, my daughter will come here. I will sacrifice you both. Till then stay put without causing a trouble,"

Daughter? Adira was stunned. An undead being can father a child. Her eyes went to his lower part which was covered in clothes. As if sensing her gaze, Azazel looked down too.

He walked ahead and clutched her hair making her in wince in pain. "Ahhh!!! It hurts leave me," she cried.

Leaving her hair, he held her chin with his cold skeletony fingers. "Don't be curious too much!" he told her in his eerie voice.

Adira regretted letting her intrusive thoughts go haywire. Well.. what was she thinking. He was dead. He can't be a daughter. How does he have a child.

"I never knew you had your people among my maids too," Adira said after a long pause.

Azazel had already sat in front of his chair, watching the magic globe in front of him. Adira was not far from them. She could see the bits and pieces of the globe. She saw three sillhouttes, much like her brother, sister-in-law, and husband. They were here! She was very happy that she didn't need to suffer. Till then, she has to distract Azazel from focusing on them.
