'Fast', that was the only thought that Jeremy had as he watched Enzo spring up from his seated/crouched position, while at the same time, Logan threw away his ropes in what could, comparatively, be called slow motion when viewed beside Enzo's impressive speed.
Jeremy counted in his mind. Not in seconds, nor half-seconds, but in .00 seconds, because that's just how fast the vampire could move.
'0.08 seconds to go from partially seated to fully standing and in a striding position.' Jeremy thought. Noting that is mind seemed to be getting used to the spontaneous bursts of speed shown by the vampires, now that he knows what to expect and can calmly analyze the movements. 'However, no matter how calm and observant I will my mind to be, my body cannot match even a fraction of that speed. By the time I take a single step back, he would already be playing catch with my beating heart.'
Jeremy did his best to catch the look on the vampire's face. One that said "I've got you now," and couldn't help but wonder what in world gave the man such confidence, and had to only draw the conclusion that years of torture and confinement had turned the lad stupid.
Despite that though, he would not let another person's stupid be an excuse for them to get away with making a mockery of the good word that is "ambush". He would have found it more commendable if they had just crouched beside the door and try to jump out and grab him as soon as he walked in.
'At least that would have been better than whatever this shit show is...though now that I think about it, ambushing others or making smart tactical decisions never really were their way in the show. Nonetheless, I'm just glad they didn't get smart and have the vampire simply pick up a small rock and send it flying through my head as soon as I walked in. I was prepared for it, and definitely would have been able to handle it, but it also would have shown a level of intelligence that would have made me have to rethink my entire approach to this world. Thank goodness for idiots.'
Jeremy watched the semi-blurry figure zip towards him and wondered which would the man hit first. The blade that was falling out of his long sleeve hoodie and into his hand or the transparent barrier that separated him from the rest of the warehouse.
*Shlick*
Blade it is.
Enzo's eyes went wide and his mouth opened but no sound came out, as he looked down at the blade that was embedded through his lower abdomen, near his hip.
Jeremy watched the vampire as looked from the blade, back to Jeremy, and then back to the blade, like he was trying to figure out when it got in his hand. Then, when Jeremy saw the vampire once more raising his head and eyes to look up at him, he took that movement as the open invitation it was, and in one motion, his center of gravity lowered, as he let his right leg slide back along the ground, and at the same time, pull the blade from where it was buried in the vampire, and with the same motion, he brought the blade up as both hands gripped the handle and sliced it through the vampires armpit and through the shoulder.
Then, he watched as the vampire screamed and held his stump, wondering if the cheap blade he took from one of Logan's stashes would hold up with the enchantment.
"Tsk," he clicked his tongue as he looked at the chipping metal. "I really need to get myself a sword." He said, as he pulled out his pistol using his free hand and sent two shots through the legs of the frozen Logan Fell, before turning his focus back to the vampire that was now gritting his teeth.
"You know Enzo, I don't have many friends. Wait, wait, before you go and give me that look of disbelief, it's true. I really don't. Don't know why, but it's just something about me that makes most guys get all apprehensive. Don't know what it is, but it's a thing. Now, that's not to say I can't get fake friends. No, I can get those any day, but real, genuine friends, not so much. I was kind of wondering if we could be friends, you and I. But..." he paused while looking down at the vampire who was looking up at him, before he sighed and continued speaking.
"But, you just truly are more trouble than you're worth, and no part of me wants to go through all the effort it would take in order to get you not only on my side, but under my control, because lets face it, no matter how loyal of a friend you could be, if you think, even for a second that I or someone close to me is betraying you, you will undoubtedly threaten to hurt or kill us. Now, if I were on my own, that would be manageable. But, just the thought of you wrapping your grubby little hands around the necks of one of my people is just making me feel all kinds of savage. So, with that, I can only say,"
He once more raised his weapon and fired two more shots into the arms of the sprawled out Logan Fell, and then looked back down at Enzo and proceeded to put a bullet beside his head, forcing him to close his eyes, and immediately after sent the sword in an arc straight through his neck.
*Clack crack zap*
'How the fuck is there lightening in a warehouse!'
It was with that thought that Jeremy once more found himself drifting through a realm of memories and knowledge that were swiftly becoming his own. His mind processing and comprehending all he saw through that fast-forwarded wrap-up that was the life of one Enzo last name omitted for privacy purposes.
In his mind, he wasn't sure how long it lasted, nor how long he was out, which is why he had to make sure Logan couldn't get smart while he went through his quickening. Though, one thing he was sure of, he could effectively say, with absolute certainty, that he was definitely an immortal.
(In the void yada yada)
"What the fuck was that?"
....
(A/N: Sorry Enzo fans, but let's be real here, dude was just a little bit too unstable and way too unattached in his life to have anything effectively binding him to Jeremy's side, and if you say the power of friendship or something like that, then you truly did not watch the show. Now, could Jeremy have taken it slow and slowly built up trust and cooperation between himself and the vamp, sure, but to that I say, who the fuck is Enzo? Jeremy's the man, he don't need friends, he's got family. Tell em, Dom.)
